Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life -
Chapter 600
He suddenly felt a wave of déjà vu. Hadn't he once incited this very crowd to demand an apology from Crimson? Now, he was in the exact same situation Crimson had faced! Realizing this, Mr. Atticus broke out in a cold sweat.
From the start, when Flora challenged him to a battle of wits, it had all been her plan! She had intentionally aimed to crush him psychologically, predicting this very scene! How could this woman be so diabolical?
Flora, resting her chin on her hand, watched Mr. Atticus, who was now surrounded by the crowd, with a casual interest. A smirk played on her lips as she said, "They're about to die..."
The faces of the powerful families' representatives turned pale, and they pressed Mr. Atticus even harder to apologize to Flora, even resorting to physical force. Mr. Atticus clenched his teeth, refusing to yield. Flora, losing interest in the spectacle, stood up, dusted off her clothes nonchalantly, and turned to leave.
Seeing her about to leave for real, Mr. Atticus panicked. He had been holding on, convinced that Flora wouldn't actually let them die, especially since this was happening at Club 257. If these people died, Club 257 couldn't escape the blame.
But seeing Flora's indifferent attitude, his confidence crumbled. This woman was too reckless, carrying an air of utter destruction. He didn't dare to gamble.
The people lying on the ground were barely breathing, as if they were about to expire at any second. In desperation, Mr. Atticus called out to Flora, who was nearly gone.
"Fine! I'll apologize! Just save them, now!"
He was backed into a corner, with no other choice. He schemed to have Flora save them first, then renege on his promise.
Flora saw through his plan clearly. She chuckled, returned, and took a seat. Then, she raised her hand. At that moment, Connor placed paper and pen in her hand. Their coordination was seamless. Flora placed the paper and pen on the table, her gaze indifferent as she looked at Mr. Atticus. "Write the apology letter first. I dictate, you write."
Mr. Atticus's face stiffened. He quickly retorted, "Save them first! Didn't you say they're about to die?"
"This won't take long," Flora said, tapping the table lightly, a teasing smile on her lips. "I won't go back on my word, but whether you will is another matter. Write the apology letter, and I'll save them immediately."
Mr. Atticus suddenly felt like he had been tricked by Flora. He regretted not keeping his cool earlier, but his words were already out. If he backtracked now, the representatives of the powerful families would finish him!
Taking a deep breath, Mr. Atticus resignedly picked up the pen and paper. Flora dictated, and he wrote.
"...I, representing the medical organization Atticus, shamelessly incited members of various powerful families-"
"Slam!" Mr. Atticus slammed the pen down on the table. He couldn't bring himself to write any further! What was this mess? It was getting more and more outrageous. Was Flora trying to pin all the blame on him?
"Don't go too far!"
Flora looked at him, amused, her expression clear. She was being excessive, and what could he do about it? The representatives of the powerful families, hearing all this, also felt it was a bit much, but since Flora's target wasn't them, they kept to themselves.
"Fine! Fine!" Mr. Atticus, grinding his teeth, forced out a few words through clenched teeth and hurriedly finished writing what Flora had said.
"I've written it, now treat them! I'll watch you do it!"
If she couldn't cure them, he wanted to see what she would do! Flora folded the handwritten letter and tucked it into Connor's bag, then lazily stood up. Seeing her approach, the representatives of the powerful families instinctively stepped aside, leaving a path for her.
