"Am I seeing things, Flora?? Is that the freshman Flora I'm thinking of?"

"She actually got into the Maple Grove University lab? But isn't it usually reserved for grad students and PhD candidates?"

"No way, I don't get it. What's Maple Grove University thinking by letting a freshman compete? Don't they realize how important this competition is? Maple Grove University was already at a disadvantage against the medical consortium. Are they just throwing in the towel?"

"Maple Grove University must have their reasons for picking Flora. Don't forget, Flora got into the medical program with top national scores, and she won the national high school coding competition. I have a feeling Flora will be the dark horse of this competition!"

"Ah, girls, I feel the same way. Flora's moves are so unpredictable, way beyond what us mere mortals can comprehend! Every time we think she'll lose, but has she ever? The word 'lose' just doesn't exist in Flora's dictionary."

"Ha, medicine is a field where you grind through time and experience. No matter how talented Flora is, can she really outdo the grad students and PhD candidates? Can she outdo those from the medical consortium? When she embarrasses herself in front of the whole world, it'll be our shame too!"

Scrolling through the comments, Flora saw that most were criticizing Maple Grove University and her. The few defending her were quickly drowned out.

They thought Maple Grove University's choice was ridiculous, doubting her capabilities to compete.

The netizens were up in arms, as if Flora was a historical villain. If the competition were lost, it would all be Flora's fault.

Cynthia was furious at these idiotic comments, but Flora, the person in question, stayed incredibly calm, even shifting to a more comfortable position. She was used to it, not taking it to heart.

"Flora, dinner's ready."

Connor called out as he brought the dishes.

Flora quickly slipped on her slippers and went into the kitchen to help with the utensils.

Connor's cooking skills were truly impressive, and Flora, who hadn't eaten much at noon, ended up eating three large bowls in one go.

After dinner, Connor put the dishes in the dishwasher and went upstairs to shower.

Flora lay on the bed waiting for him.

"Buzz, buzz, buzz-"

The phone on the nightstand started vibrating.

The screen flashed the name 'Kruz.'

Flora had some recollection of him; he seemed to be Connor's brother.

Remembering what he had said

before, about her not being good et

enough for Connor, and that their mother disapproved of their relationship, Flora's eyes narrowed.

She picked up the phone from the nightstand and pressed the answer button.

She was, after all, Kruz's sister-in-law. Answering his call wasn't too much, was it?

"Hey, bro, can't take it anymore!

Mom actually grounded me and smashed all my racing cars! Smashed them! Bro, you gotta send Moss to pick me up, I want to come stay with you..."

The moment she answered, the other end went off like a machine gun; Flora found his voice too loud and moved the phone away.

Kruz talked non-stop without getting a response, "Hello? Bro? Why aren't you speaking?"

Flora smirked, "Connor's taking a shower."

Kruz was instantly shocked: "!!!"

The person on the other end wasn't his brother, but a woman!!! And she said his brother was taking a shower!!!

It wasn't even nighttime, why take a shower?!

His brother had always been aloof from women, hardly any man could get close to him. Kruz suddenly remembered the recent displays of affection his brother had been posting on social media.
