Zachary wasn't used to being talked to like that. His face immediately turned stormy, but when he realized it was Kruz and Connor, his anger kind of stalled out. What was Connor doing here?

Kruz was just a spoiled rich kid, not really a threat, but Connor... he was a different story. Zachary knew better than to tangle with him right now. Besides, Kruz might have been hurling insults, but losing his cool wasn't an option for someone of Zachary's standing. "Kruz, can't you say anything without throwing around insults? Who were you bad-mouthing just now?" A young guy standing next to Zachary, picking up on his cue, shot back angrily.

"Whoever answers, that's who I'm talking to," Kruz smirked. "Yeah, I was talking about you and that old, foul-mouthed dog beside you."

In a game of words, no one in the Jones family could take Kruz down, but they knew how to hit where it hurt. "You're all talk. If you're so skilled, try beating me at racing. But with your pitiful driving, I'm not even interested."

What got under Kruz's skin the most was anyone mocking his racing skills. He was furious. "Who the hell did you call pitiful at racing?"

"Talking about you." The Jones family members, seeing him riled up, felt a bit smug.

"Lei, I don't have time for this today, just get out of here!" Karter snapped, clearly irritated.

"Brother Jiang, let me give you some advice: hand over that miracle drug, and we can both walk away with some dignity," Zachary said with a sly grin, his eyes dark and threatening. "Ignore me now, but don't come crying to me later when it's too late."

"With the Reyes Racing Team being the mess it is, if the Jones family doesn't hold back, you'll be humiliated. Are you really ready to let the Reyes Racing Team, which you and your brother built with so much pride, fall apart? All for some miracle drug? Your brother would be devastated."

Zachary's confidence came from knowing exactly this. He was baiting Karter, who was shaking with anger, nearly spitting blood.

Adrian quickly steadied him. The last

time Zachary pulled this, using Gerald to provoke his dad, it had ended with his dad coughing up blood and passing out. If it wasn't for Flora, his dad might not have made it! And here Zachary was, doing it again.

Adrian was trembling with rage, his eyes red. For the first time, he loathed how powerless he felt. If he were stronger, the Jones family wouldn't dare to strut around here like they owned the place!

"Connor, they're so noisy."

Suddenly, a girl's voice, cool and lazy, cut through the tension.

Flora stood there, her hands tucked into her puffer jacket pockets, looking irritated and bored.

Connor gently ruffled her hair, "Alright, I'll get them to leave."

With those words, he raised his dark eyes, sweeping them over Zachary and his crew. The softness in his gaze vanished.

"Didn't you hear? You're making too much noise."

"Leave."

His voice was flat, but it cut through the air like ice, making Zachary and his gang shiver.

Zachary was wary of Connor,

avoiding a direct clash. The guy was a loose cannon, and even the White family had fallen to him. He didn't want to start more trouble, having said what he came to say

He cast a sinister glance at Karter, warning him, "Brother Jiang, think it over. My patience is running thin, and if you come back begging, the deal won't be so sweet." With that, Zachary turned to leave, but Flora's brow was already furrowed, showing just how fed up she was.
