Is that it? Seriously, is that all? Was this the amazing talent the young master of their family bragged about-blowing everyone away in the first lap? Not just them, even Adrian was scratching his head. Why was his sister driving so slowly? "Come on... *cough*... Flora, why aren't you hitting the gas?" Inside the car, Kruz stared at Flora, totally puzzled. A few seconds later, he smacked his thigh, "Oh, I get it! You're all about the dramatic comeback, right? Planning to catch up in the last two laps?" That's exactly what Flora had pulled off last time!

Flora shot him a look that could only mean 'are you serious?": "Shut up, or get out of the car."

Kruz zipped it! He knew better than to mess with Flora! He was sure she had some ace up her sleeve!

However-

Two minutes into the race, and Flora was still cruising at a snail's pace of 60 miles per hour. For everyday folks, that might seem fast, but on the racetrack, it was more like a Sunday drive with grandma. "This speed, Miss..."

"Mr. Adrian bragged about his sister's mad driving skills. I knew it, his obsession with her just has no limits."

Up ahead, a bunch of young drivers watched Flora lagging behind, driving like she was out for a casual joyride, their jaws twitching in disbelief. They figured Flora might not be the best driver, but they didn't expect her to be this bad. It wasn't just bad; it was downright embarrassing. A top-tier sports car, but she made it feel like a senior citizen's ride.

Andy's grip on the steering wheel tightened as he watched the car at the back, anger bubbling inside. At this speed, why even bother showing up at the racetrack? Was she here to make a fool of herself?

Adrian was equally dumbfounded. This didn't make sense. Last time, when his sister and Kruz were in a car, she was flying. Wait-last time she was in the passenger seat, not driving. A realization struck Adrian.

Could it be that his sister's racing

skills were just average, and she was better off being a navigator, sitting in the passenger seat, calling the shots? His face went pale with the thought. If that was the case, what's the point? How could she even compete?

...

Flora stayed cool as a cucumber. Everyone was focused on her trailing behind, landing in last place, but they missed the fact that she was keeping a calculated distance. From her perspective, she could see the fear of every car perfectly, noting afPtheir flaws.

Adrian was the quickest, and he maneuvered around obstacles pretty well, but his cornering was terrible. And the guy in second place? Good overall, but his foresight was lacking. He'd pay for that. Flora quietly observed, mentally jotting down everyone's strengths and weaknesses. Then, she slid her hand over the steering wheel, pressing her foot down on the accelerator.

Feeling the car's vibrations, Kruz felt alive again, his whole body buzzing with excitement! His Flora was finally making her move! Was she about to unleash her skills?

He raised his right hand to grip the handle, eyes sparkling with anticipation.

"Flora, let's do this, I'm ready-"

But the last word never left his

mouth. Kruz watched, eyes wide, as Flora steered off the track and

parked smoothly by the roadside Flora unbuckled her seatbelt, pulled out a packet of lavender shortbread from her bag, and started munching away. She was hungry, having skipped breakfast.

Kruz turned to look at her, speechless for what felt like forever. Noticing his gaze, Flora thought for a moment, then grabbed another packet from her bag and tossed it to him. "Feeling hungry too?"

Almost on instinct, Kruz caught it, then stared at the lavender shortbread in his hand, questioning his life choices.
