Recap

“Must have been a great dream, Marlyn,” I told her through the mind-link, smiling gently at her as she nodded.

“We need to get back and help the injured, think you could help?” She asked as she smirked at me.

I nodded, sending them on their way as I grabbed Kat’s hand, pulling her beside me. We walked into the castle. I caught sight of Windy and Ares heading to the safe room, so I knew Kat and I were safe going to our room and getting cleaned up. I sighed, happy to know I didn’t need to go with them. I was tired and a lot hungry, but I needed to go check on my mom. I needed to hear what was going on with her.

“We need to eat before we go see your mom, Sonny,” Kat said as she looked up at me, causing me to sigh and teleport food for us. We sat down and ate our meal of steak, potatoes, and spinach. We needed the protein after what had transpired.

Sonny’s POV

After we ate, I cleaned everything up and told Kat to go take a shower. I let her know I was headed to the cells and would be right back. I wanted to make sure they were spelled tight, but to also let them know court would happen tomorrow.

I walked into the cells, whistling the Jeopardy tune, trying to aggravate my prisoners. It wasn’t even close to what they had done, but I was limited on what I would do. “All of you will be tried tomorrow, so pray tonight.”

“Why should we pray to someone we don’t believe in?” Mark asked in a condescending tone as I rolled my eyes and stared straight into his eyes.

I was about to open my mouth and answer him, but my body was hijacked. Yes, hijacked. “You may not believe in me, but you should believe in me. Who do you think gave you your mate you threw away?”

“What?”

I was let go. “That was my grandmother, the Moon Goddess. She uses her grandkids as mouthpieces at times. Question her again and you will not make it to trial.”

“Yeah, right. You are just saying what you think will scare me. I’m an-”

“-an Alpha. But, you aren’t one anymore.” She looked at me and smiled, turning back to Mark with a wicked look in her eyes. “Do you know who I am?” She asked as she let her wolf shine through her eyes.

“No, who might you be?” I heard Mark ask as he looked my grandmother up and down.

She walked through the spells and the bars of the cell, not displacing the spell. “Well, my grandmother already gave you a hint. It’s a shame you can’t remember from one minute to the next.” She stood up and her whole body started glowing. “Ringing any bells now?”

“You-you’re the Moon Goddess?” Mark asked as he fainted.

She laughed at the idiot, turning towards me and smiling. “Can I come to court tomorrow?” I nodded. “Yay! I can see how you work and watch every one of these traitors face as they realize who I am.”

I started laughing and tried hard to quit, but I kept remembering what she said. I shook my head as I finally got myself under control. “Only you, grandma. Only you.”

“See you tomorrow. Kat’s looking for you, too,” she said as she disappeared.

I teleported back to our room, watching as Kat paced and talked to herself. She was mumbling about me not coming back and her having to wait on me. I wanted to laugh but I was enjoying her words - even though they were about me.

She stopped and sniffed, turning towards me, a hand on her hip. “How much of me talking about you did you hear?”

“Uh, all of it?” I started laughing again as she blushed. “It’s okay. I’m sure I deserved it. I was talking to my grandmother. She scared the shit out of Mark and he fainted.”

She gasped, covering her mouth to keep from laughing, but couldn’t hold it in. “Go take your shower, your Highness,” she gasped out as she pointed at the bathroom door. I shook my head as I walked over to her, laying a quick kiss on her lips, and walking into the bathroom, hearing her laugh as I left the room.

I took a long, hot shower, washing my body and hair twice. I could have cleaned up magically but I needed to wake up and a shower would do it. I made sure to turn the cold water on right before I left the shower, causing goosebumps to show up all over my skin. The damned castle was cold, something I would need to fix soon.

I walked out of the bathroom with a towel around my waist, making sure I basically ran to our closet. Kat was looking at me as if she could eat me alive. I knew we couldn’t do anything now but damned if I didn’t want to. I quickly dressed and dried my hair more, throwing my towel in the hamper.

I turned and looked at Kat as she was checking me out. “What? We don’t have the time, Kat, but we will later. Something is about to happen and I’m not sure what it is. I do know it’s going to happen in my mom’s hospital room.

“Let’s go,” Kat told me, pulling me with her as if we would walk to the Black Blade pack.

I smirked and teleported Kat and ten Royal Warrior’s to my mom’s room, Windy following and hiding us in the corner of the room. I hated seeing my mom so still. She was never still or quiet. I could tell my dad, Zane, was sleep-walking with Ares and Trace keeping a close eye on him. My sisters looked as if they were frozen in place.

Teleport behind our dad, Windy. Keep yourself hidden. You will know what to do when the time is right,” I mind-linked her, getting a quick nod from her. I knew she was still hiding us. I wasn’t sure how she was doing both but I wasn’t going to question it.

There was a loud crash and my dad, Zane, woke up immediately, growling at the interruption. He turned in time to grab whoever was behind him, seeing Windy slam the she-wolf on the ground and showing Kat, ten Royal Warriors, and me. “Nuh-uh, bitch! It’s not nice sneaking up on people, is it?” Windy asked her.

“Who are you,” the witch gasped out as she tried to get her breath back.

“Asher, bring Serenity with you to your mom's room. Now!” I heard my dad order Asher. They both showed up beside him, letting me know Asher was reading my dad’s mind.

“I’m the Royal Beta,” I heard Windy tell her as the witch laughed at her.

“She’s my cousin, Nina, and she’s bad news, aren’t you?” I heard Serenity ask her. “She was with my sister and the rest of my coven.”

Windy went invisible again, the witch looking everywhere for her as she reached in her pocket.

Stupid she-witch!

“Looking for this?” I asked Nina, causing everyone’s head to whip in my direction. I was holding a gun, smelling the foul shit on the bullet.

“Really? You were going to shoot me? How dumb can you be?” My dad asked Nina. “Nevermind, I know how dumb you are.” He looked up at me. “Got any more rooms at the inn?”

I laughed. “But, of course.” I nodded my head and Windy, the witch, and one of the Warriors were gone as Blaine came barreling into the room. He was stopped by one of my Warriors but was let through when I nodded.

I checked out Serenity’s mind, Ares helping. I wasn’t sure how I knew but I did. He nodded his head to me, letting me know she was clean. “How’s mom doing?”

“Well, she’s pregnant again-”

“-she is so going to kill you,” Windy commented quickly as she smirked at him. “But, maybe not. Did I hear you tell Trace he could talk to his mate later?”

“Uh, yeah -” he started to explain as ten witches showed up in the hospital room.
