From Here to Ecstasy -
Chapter 26 - Fixing Him
Recap:
The doc ran back into the room. "He's got a broken tail bone, two broken legs. His neck is broken - which is the one I'm worried about. He also has broken ribs. I'm sorry, Alpha. We will need to see how fast he heals. It may take a while before he comes out of this." I nodded my head at him as I went over what needed to be done. I couldn't under
Autumn’s POV
I looked over at Winter, making sure she knew what I was about to do. She gave me a short nod, letting me know she would protect my body. I wasn’t sure I could really do this, not having done it before, but I had to try. This pack needed Griffith, we needed him.
“I’m coming with you,” Asher told me via his wolf.
“What? No, Asher, you need to heal some of his bones with our mom and dads,” I commanded accidentally.
Asher snickered. “I’m going or I will tell mom what you’re doing”
I had forgotten he was an Alpha, too. Damnit, I was going to have to let him go. I nodded my head as I rolled my eyes. I swear he could drive a saint to drink. It was hard to tell my youngest brothers to do something or not do something. Sometimes they were a pain in the asses. And, yes, Asher, I meant for you to hear me.
"Ha-ha, you're so funny," Asher dryly said as he rolled his eyes at me.
Asher merged his wolf with mine. I looked at Winter and smiled an ‘I’m okay’ smile. She knew I was nervous. She knew I had to do this, too. I closed my eyes and sent myself into Griffith’s body. This was going to be an education. I went to his neck first and got to work on the break. I hoped I made him better and not worse. I could see the bone knitting together - which was a big relief. I went to his rips next and worked on them. But, before I could finish working on his ribs I noticed he had a small tear in his heart. I knew it needed to be fixed before he lost blood.
It took me longer on his heart and I was getting weak. I felt a surge of power run through my body, knowing it came from Asher. I hoped he didn’t give me too much energy. I didn’t want to fix him next.
I knitted his ribs together, but I couldn’t get to his legs. I needed to get to my body quickly. I knew Asher and I needed substance and quickly. I wanted to finish his legs, but there was no way at the time. Damnit! I quickly made my way to my body, taking a huge gulp of air and falling on my ass. My legs were not working and now mom would know something was up.
“What the hell did you do, Autumn? You’re pale as chalk. What. Did. You. Do?” My mom seethed, giving me the ‘you’re in trouble’ eyes.
“I need energy and fast, so does Asher. I’ll answer your questions afterward, Mom,” I huffed out as I laid back on the floor.
Winter produced five energy bars as Trace produced two colas. “My hero’s.” I put my hand over my heart dramatically.
I was getting the evil eye from my mom. “Have the doc x-ray him again, leaving his legs alone,” I told them as I ate my energy bars as fast as I could. I wanted more energy. I needed to heal Griffith’s legs.
“Well, don’t just stand there, nurse, go get the doctor,” my mom ordered the idiot nurse who was shaking at her order. “Now!”
I rolled my eyes at Winter, knowing I was about to be next to see her Alpha come out to play. I was ready for the ass-chewing I knew I would get from her. It wasn’t maybe she would chew me out, it was when she would chew me out. I didn’t care if she did, I had done what I needed to do with one of my powers - powers no one knows about except for Winter.
“And you." She pointed at me, her hands crossed over her chest, her foot tapping on the floor. "You will tell me now what you did to make yourself look as if you could have the name Casper.” She paused and took a shuddering breath. “Well?”
The doctor saved my life. No really, he saved my life. If I would have told her what I did in the way I was going to I would be a dead woman walking. The doctor set up the film and took his x-rays again. He ran out of the room and was gone all but ten minutes.
He ran back in the room, his mouth opening and closing as if he was a fish. He shook his head and cleared his throat twice. “He only has a broken tailbone and legs. It’s the damnedest thing I’ve ever seen. Damn, y’all work fast.”
My mom narrowed her eyes at me, surprising me when she smiled. “We will talk later, daughter. You need to get your energy back. You have a few more rounds to go.”
To say I was in shock would have been an understatement. I was sure I looked like the doctor did when he walked into the room. My mom gave me a cheesy smile. “Uh, okay? I just need a few more minutes.” I looked at the doc. “Can you set me up with an I.V.? I need some sugar water running through my veins right now.”
The doctor nodded his head and ran out of the room. He came back empty-handed. My dad knew what he needed before the doctor could open his mouth. He handed the doctor the solution and the I.V. setup kit. I watched as the doctor was about to say something but thought better of it.
“Peace is worried about us, but he doesn’t want to interfere with what we are doing. What do you want me to tell him, Autumn? He’s really freaking out,” My wolf told me. I could tell he was worried about me.
I stood up from the floor, still eating and drinking from my cola, and walked over to Micah. I laid my palm on the side of his face and kissed his lips. “I’m okay. I need to do this, Micah. If I don’t I would never forgive myself. I was given this power to help people,” I whispered to him, making sure the nurses didn’t hear me.
Micah nodded his head and walked me back over to a chair close to Griffith. He sat me in his lap and held me while the doc started my I.V. I felt him shudder when the needle went into my vein, causing me to lightly laugh. I wasn’t sure if he didn’t like needles or didn’t like seeing one go into my arm. They didn’t bother me at all.
I pulled Winter over to us, instructing her to hold on to his hand and keep him calm. Something caught my attention. In the corner of the room, Asher was drinking a bag of glucose as fast as he could. I was sure he was going to be bouncing off the walls. Mom was going to kill him if she found out, not that she would literally kill us. No way, she was too loving for her to kill us, but she was good at doling out punishments.
After half the bag was gone I looked at my mom and nodded my head. I kissed Micah’s cheek and let go of myself, entering Griffith, but not without Asher and Ander. I wanted to roll my eyes, but considering I wasn’t in my body I couldn’t do it.
I went to Griffith’s tailbone, making sure my eyes were only on his tailbone and not anywhere else. I didn’t want to see his package from the inside or the outside. Eww, that would be gross and wrong. I got my mind back on my work and away from anything else. I didn’t have time to think about anything else. It took me a lot longer to knit his bone back together. He had fragmented his tailbone when he landed, making him feel as if he were paralyzed. I finished his tailbone and checked on my brothers.
I moved to his legs, noticing he had nerve damage. I wasn’t sure if I could fix the damage. I was damn sure going to try. I moved around the bone and realized why he had the damage. He had an old broken bone that didn’t heal right. It had to be broken before he shifted. Why didn’t he get it fixed? I healed the bone, hoping it would straighten out the nerve damage. Only time would tell, but if I needed to go back in and see what else I could do I would.
Asher, Ander, and I went back to our own bodies. All three of us took a huge gulp of air, causing my mom’s eye’s to narrow on Asher and Ander. Oops, they weren’t as sneaky as they thought they were. The boys were looking everywhere but where our mom was. It was funny how they were trying to get out of any punishment. I went to open my mouth, but something stopped me.
"What the fuck!" My mom, Summer, yelled, causing me to jump.
