From Here to Ecstasy -
Chapter 92 - Welcome to the Jungle
Dedicated to N.Y.O.B. and oddball. You always make my day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Recap
I was going to leave it in the woods closer to the castle. I didn’t want anyone to know who we were. I wanted to see how they treated us and how many warriors let me pass without stopping us. It was a test to see how they acted, protected, or not protected.
We scooped up our suitcases. “Why are we bringing these with us now? You know we could teleport them to us without a problem.”
I dropped my suitcases and laughed. “Okay, it’s a better idea than I had.” I looked down at my watch, making sure we made it on time.
We both heard, “Three, two, one,” from our grandmother, teleporting when she got to one. This was going to be a lesson in patience.
Sonny’s POV
I looked at Windy as we walked further towards the castle, not getting stopped by any of the warriors. It was as if we were invisible to them. I made sure Windy hadn’t covered us under her veil of invisibility - which she had not. I let out a breath and loosened my shoulders. I memorized all of their faces as we walked up to the castle.
I looked at Windy and pushed open the doors. We walked into the castle and it was chaos. People were running as a man screamed at them. I was surprised they hadn’t noticed us walk in. The man, with warriors around him, as if he was the King, kept yelling at the lower-ranked women. I could tell they were tired and needed a break.
I loudly cleared my throat. Of course, it didn’t work. I walked closer to him, wanting to see if he would notice me. It took him a few minutes and it was after one of his warriors warned him.
“Here, boy, take this to the trash.” He shoved a pile of paperwork at me and then eyed when I didn’t move. “Quickly, boy. We need to burn this paperwork before the King gets here.”
I nodded and walked back out the door as Windy followed me. I had to hold back a snarl but I had to see what he was throwing away. It had to be important for him to get rid of. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on him. I decided to teleport the paperwork to my parent’s office. I asked them to look at the report and see what was in it. I needed to know, no, I had to know.
“Let’s go back and see if this asshole calls me a boy again,” I told Windy with a smirk on my face.
We walked back into the castle, noticing the man still handing out paperwork to the Omegas. I had to stop him before all the paperwork was burnt. ”Mom, can you meet the Omega’s as they come outside with paperwork? I need to see those reports.”
"No problem,” she replied back.
I let out a breath and stood against the wall and waited for him to signal for me to take some paperwork outside again. He looked at me twice and sighed as he continued going through the files. The third time he looked at me I was almost giddy.
“Dammit, boy! We don’t have time to be lazy. Get over and help us,” the man scolded me.
I opened my mouth and let a roar from deep within. “I’m not your boy! I am the Royal King!”
Windy growled out almost as loud as I did. “And, I’m the Royal Beta!”
I thought the men were going to shit themselves. They were on their knees and looking at me as if I was going to kill them. I could read them easier than I had anyone before. If they weren't careful I would. They were trying to destroy financial reports, reports of rogue movements, and punishments this walking dick with ears oversaw.
Hell no!
Wasn't going to happen.
“Ladies.” I looked at the woman who had been running around. “Please go take a break and get something to eat and drink.”
The ladies bowed a look of relief in their eyes. I had a feeling they had been treated this way the whole time. I wasn’t having any of it. I didn’t like for people to be treated like dirt under their shoes. It wasn’t right. I hate the hierarchy in packs. I treated people how I wanted to be treated, but these people tore down anyone weaker than them.
I saw a few ladies eyeing me up and down. I wanted to shudder at their thoughts. Their thoughts were disgusting and they were asking their friends, who were witches, if they could produce a spell to use on me. I knew they were all about the power and status they would have if one of them was my mate. I had waited for my mate and I wasn't going to fall for their shit.
Yeah, no.
I didn’t want women who didn’t wait for their mate or ones who had rejected their mates for one of power. And these men were idiots if they let the women keep them from their mates. I could see why my grandma’s heart was heavy. Some of these people had turned away from the Moon Goddess. I knew it hurt her and I could see the pain across Windy's face. She was the closest to the Moon Goddess, our grandmother. It would weigh heavily on her heart.
“Now, you may rise.” I waited for them to rise to their feet. “Someone better explain to me why I walked past warriors and they let me advance without a question. Explain to me how I was able to walk into the castle without being challenged.”
I waited a minute for someone, anyone, to answer me. I was about to speak when Windy growled, a growl I had never expected from her. It was even louder than the one she did before. “It’s an easy question to answer, or are you brain dead?”
I mentally high-fived Windy and waited for someone to answer. “Time to look into their minds, Windy.”
“Oh, I already have. The guy with his own warriors has been playing King for a while now. His warriors are somewhat faithful to him. The other men were ordered to do his bidding, of course, he had help from Ruby.” I explained as my eyes narrowed on the man.
“Like playing King do we?” I asked the man, narrowing my eyes even more.
He snorted and looked me up and down. “Not much to look at, boy. You should go back to your mother’s tit.” He paused to see if I would get angry. I took clippers out of my pocket and started to cut my nails, wanting to piss off this man.
“Haven’t been there for a long time. Although, you should go back to sucking off your men,” I casually shot back, a bored expression on my face.
"Nice one, Sonny,” Windy told me.
I could see the anger right under his skin. He was trying not to shift. I could see the calculated look on his face. He wanted to test me and Windy. He thought he would do a better job as King. But, what he didn't understand was he had to have a Royal wolf and I would bet my left nut he doesn't.
He narrowed his eyes on me and smirked. "No, I didn’t mind ‘playing’ king,” he said slowly as he used air quotes. “But, we needed someone in the castle to keep it running. I’m not sure if you are qualified to do the job. You’re only a boy,” he answered with a challenging look on his face.
"Do what?" My wolf yelled through our link to all their wolves.
