Galactic: The Superhuman Robot -
Chapter 8: Galactic Tells Her Students She’s a Superhuman.
Galactic: “Good morning students. Before I begin the lecture, I want to show you something.”
Galactic gets up from her chair and jumps to the ceiling and returns to her chair in one second.
Student: “Did I see that correctly? Are you a gymnast or something? Are you lighter than air?”
Galactic: “No, I’m not a gymnast and I’m not lighter than air.”
Another student: “I’ve only seen that done in action movies. What the heck was that and how did you do it? That was scary.”
Galactic: “It shouldn’t be scary. I want you to listen carefully to me. First. I’ll ask you a question. Did you ever notice anything different about me?”
Student: “Your voice is flat with little inflection and I noticed you have no body fat.”
Another student: “Your skin looks perfect. There’s not one wrinkle or any sagging of the skin.”
Another student: “You seem too smart to be true.”
Another student: “Your eyes are extremely large.”
Galactic: “You’re astute and pick up on clues that most people wouldn’t. You’ll be great scientists. Hopefully you’ll follow in Albert Einstein’s footsteps. Please take what I’m going to say in your stride. Are you ready?”
Students in unison: “Yes, we’re ready.”
Galactic: “I’m a superhuman robot.”
Student: “I didn’t think superhuman robots existed.”
Another student: “I’m flabbergasted.”
Galactic: “We do exist. I was once a human. I was very old and not doing well when I decided to become a superhuman. The advances in creating superhumans have been amazing. We want to work with humans to better the world. I’m part human as my memories are intact.”
Student: “How were you created?”
Galactic describes how she was created and what her capabilities are. She flies around the room for a few moments. Then she recites the first two chapters of Hamlet.
Student: “I’m jealous. I want to be a superhuman.”
Galactic: “Perhaps you will someday, but for now you’re young and have a zest for life. I’m a little jealous of you.”
Another Student: “I’m overwhelmed. What are we supposed to think of you now?”
Galactic: “Think of me as a mentor and a friend.”
Student: “I’ll treat you as I did before; with the utmost of respect, but now I’m in awe of you.”
Galactic: “Please keep this a secret. Only the President of the University knows I’m a superhuman. That’s one of the reasons he asked me to take this position. If the media gets wind of this, I won’t have any privacy and I would have to give up teaching. Do you promise not to tell anyone; not even your parents?”
Students in unison: “Yes. We would be upset if you were to couldn’t teach us.”
Galactic: “Then that’s settled. I know I can trust you. Do you have any other questions before I start my lecture?”
Student: “Do you miss your old body?”
Galactic: “Only some sensations. I’m still getting accustomed to being superhuman. The next lecture is on the Big Bang Theory.
