Adella Arcos - POV

The meeting was about the upcoming semester exams and how we are supposed to cover all the required syllabi before that date, but I tuned him out while my entire focus was on Jose. He must have come to the pack last night because I heard a few omega talking about it, but why didn't he come to see me then?

“Anyone have any questions?” the principal’s voice brought me back to the classroom, and all of us shook our heads. “Great, now you can get back to your work,” he said, and everyone started getting up and leaving the place. Summer and I were the last ones to leave when she came and linked her arms with mine.

“Why do you look dull today?” she asked me.

“Nothing, I am still a little exhausted.” I vaguely answered, and right then, the school bell rang, and kids started to swarm the hallways, trying to get to their respective classes. “I will see you later,” I asked her, and she nodded her head.

My day passed by in a breeze when it was finally time to go. I quickly packed my bags and walked outside the school, where Summer was waiting for me. “Where are you going now?” she asked me as I got into her car.

“Can you drop me home? I have a lot of things that I need to finish?” I asked her, and she nodded her head before we drove off. I took my phone out of my bag and checked to see if I had missed any messages or calls, but sadly, there were none.

Why didn't Jose call me yet? Should I call and speak to him?

“Let's wait for a little while longer,” Rachel suggested, and I nodded my head, and put my phone back in my bag.

“You know you can come to my house to chill, right?” Summer asked when I got out of the car.

“I know, but I have a lot of work today,” I told her, and a pout formed on her face.

“Fine, I guess we will hang out some other day?” she asked me, and I gave her a thumbs up before I stepped away from the car and Summer drove away. I walked into my house, quickly took a shower, and changed my clothes before I walked into the living room with my laptop.

“Can we go for a run?” Rachel asked me, but looking down at the pile of papers and the weather outside, I shook my head.

“I have to finish typing down all these exam papers, Rachel. Maybe we can go tomorrow?” I asked, and she huffed but then reluctantly agreed. I was halfway through my typing process when I checked my phone for the fifth time.

Why hasn't Jose texted me yet?

I picked it up and dialed his number. The phone rang for a long time before it finally went to voice mail. “Maybe he is out in the training grounds.”

“Shall we go and see him in person?” Rachel asked me, but I immediately shook my head.

“I do not think that is a good idea. Let's wait for a little while longer, and I have a feeling that he will call me soon.” I said, and she nodded her head.

Gamma Jose Gomez - POV

Ring ring

My phone kept ringing, but I ignored it and continued my training session. I know I shouldn't be doing this to Adella, but right now, I need some time alone to think clearly. Once I was done with my training session, I walked back to my bag and took it before I walked back to my room. After taking a shower, I sat on my bed and dialed her number.

“Jose?” she said as if she was not able to believe that I called her, which made my heart flood with guilt. “Jose, are you free right now?” her urgent voice came through loud and clear.

“Yes, I am sorry I couldn't answer your call earlier. I was a little busy with training.” I told her.

“Oh, that's all right. Anyway, I just wanted to invite you for dinner. Will you be able to come to my place tonight?” she asked me. I looked up at the wall clock to see that it was seven-thirty p.m.

“Um, it's getting late right now, Adella, and I have a meeting with Alpha Ralph at eight o'clock. How about I come for dinner tomorrow?”

“Yeah, that sounds perfect. I will be waiting for you then,” she said, and then the line was disconnected. I threw the phone beside me and just laid down on the bed and closed my eyes. Every day brings me something new to tackle, and unless I figure out a decision for this issue, I will always be on edge.

Ping.

I took my phone and looked down to see that I only had half an hour to get to the meeting with Alpha Ralph. Letting out an exhausted sigh, I got up from my place and walked downstairs. The dinner buffet had already started, so I made my way inside, grabbed a plate piled some food, and took a seat. “Long Day?” I looked up to see that Crystal was sitting beside me.

“Yeah,” I mumbled before I continued eating.

“I guess everyone will face that if they are juggling two balls at the same time.” her words made me choke on the mashed potato, taking me into a coughing fit. “Here, have some water.” Crystal quickly offered, and I gulped the entire content in one go. When I looked up, I saw that almost everyone was looking at me with concerned looks.

“I am fine, you guys please continue,” I said, and that was when the chatter gradually began again.

“Why are you here again?” I asked her with a raised eyebrow, which made a sinister smile appear on her face. She blew at her nails and leaned back on her chair.

“No one has ever disrespected me, Gamma Gomez. But you did, and that too in front of that omega. And do you think I will let this slide easily?” she asked me with an arched eyebrow and a half smile.
