Adella Arcos - POV

I have been driving for five hours now, and so far, I have covered more ground than I expected, but the further I moved away from my mate, the more painful it was within me. Salty years started to roll down my eyes while I furiously wiped them away.

This was the first time I started to feel the impact of those pictures I saw. My throat tightened while my hands began to tremble.

I am emotionally a very strong person, but this heartbreak just breaks every wall that I have created over the years.

I thought I found my happiness at last, but I was wrong.

I don't know why Jose did this to me, but he could have at least told me that he hated me in the first place without leading me on like this.

“There must be something in his mind for what he did, Adella,” Rachel suggested.

“Even if there was something, he could have talked to me. Okay, people make mistakes, but if he truly loved me, he should have explained that to his fiancee and broke things off with her. And I would have happily accepted him.”

“Let's think about this later, Adella. It is dangerous for us to drive like this when you are emotional.” Rachel said, and I nodded my head. I didn't stop anywhere because I didn't feel like it. “Aren’t we stopping here tonight?” Rachel questioned after a while when we passed by the town that summer and I visited a few days ago.

“It would be too obvious. I don't want to see Jose again, and for that, we will have to go somewhere very far.” I said, and she nodded her head. Eleven hours later, my feet were aching, and my backbone was hurting like crazy after sitting in the same position.

“I think it is time for us to stop, Adella,” Rachel suggested, and I nodded my head. I don't think it would be ideal for me to travel at night. I parked the car on the curb, took out my phone, and searched for the nearest town.

“Well, looks like there is a human town fifteen kilometers from here,” I spoke out.

“I guess we can stay there tonight,” Rachel said, and I nodded my head before I placed my phone on the center console and began driving. When we were getting close to the town, I began to see that this was more lively than anything I had ever seen.

There were tall buildings the further I drove into the streets, and wherever I looked, I saw that it was a well-developed city with all the top brands and a lot of night cafes around me. I Aimlessly drove around the entire city when I finally found the motel I was looking for. After parking the car in the car park, I got down and made my way inside.

“Hello, welcome to the Bliss Motel.” a sweet lady at the reception greeted me with a smile plastered on her face. But her smile was slightly flattered when she saw my face.

“Hi, I am looking for a room to stay in for the night,” I told her in a monotonous voice.

“Give me a minute, I will check for availability,” she said and began typing something on her computer. “We have three rooms vacant.”

“That's great, will I be able to get a single bedroom?”

“Sure, ma'am. Can I have your ID?” after I finished with the check-in process, the lady gave me the room key without asking any further questions, and I walked back to my car and took out the smaller bag before I made my way to my room. My entire body was aching so much, and the moment I walked into the room, I kept my bag to the side and just lay down on the bed.

Gamma Jose Gomez - POV

When I walked into my house, I noticed my sister waiting for me in the living room. “I broke up with Elena,” I told her.

“What are you going to do now?” she asked me with an arched eyebrow.

“I am going to get my mate back,” I said, and this made a smile stretch across my sister’s face.

“Go and get her before it's too late, Jose,” she said. I walked towards her and pulled her into a hug before I walked out of my house. I have never been this scared in my entire life, not even when I was subjected to brutal training at the camp to become a Gamma, but today I felt like my heartbeat didn't want to come down at all.

“I feel like something is off, Jose,” Carlos said after a while.

“What is it like, Carlos?” I asked him while I increased my speed.

“I don't know,” he mumbled before he kept quiet again. By the time I came back to the blue moon pack, I felt like something didn't sit well with me. I drove straight to Adella’s house and parked my car haphazardly in the driveway before I walked up to her door.

I knocked on the door several times, but no one came to answer. I tried calling her phone, but all I got was the automated voice telling me that this number was not working. Panic started to set within me when I heard someone’s footsteps approaching me.

“Whom are you looking for, Gamma Gomez?” It was Crystal, and she had come alone. I ignored her and turned around to face the door again.

“Adella! Please open the door! I wanted to talk to you.” I yelled, but there was no reply.

“She won't come to open the door if she is not at home.” this made me freeze, and I turned around to look at her. My instincts were telling me to not trust Crystal at all, but looking at the satisfied smile on her face, I knew something must have happened that I was unaware of.

“What are you talking about?” I asked her.
