Adella Arcos - POV

It took me two days to arrange my apartment, and today is the first day I am heading out for an interview. Just like the old landlord told me, wolves were walking quite close to the building, but then I realized that they belonged to the nearby pack. After putting on some makeup, I took my file and walked out of my apartment. The interview I am attending today is for a receptionist job at a five-star hotel.

“Are we going to visit the pack at least today?” Rachel asked me as soon as I parked my car and started walking inside.

“I have sent my application to a few packs nearby, and I have only got a reply from one of them. So shall we go and check that out?” I asked her, and Rachel eagerly nodded her head.

“Hi, I am here for the interview,” I told the man at the front desk when I entered the hotel.

“Head up to the second floor,” he said without even looking up at me. When I arrived on the second floor, I realized that I was not the only one attending this interview. Fifteen other women were seated in the waiting Hall, all looking like they had just walked out from a runway. When they saw me step out of the elevator, a lot of glare was directed toward me. I was rooted in my spot for a few seconds before I slowly walked toward the woman behind a desk.

After giving her my name, she asked me to take a seat and wait for my turn. Time flew by slowly, and one after the other went into the room but came out looking disappointed. “Miss.Arcos.” I jumped out of my seat when a man called my name. “It's your turn now,” he said before he walked into the room. Taking a deep breath, I walked into the room.

“Please take a seat.” a guy behind the desk told me without even looking up from his paperwork. A few minutes later, the interview began. He asked me various questions about my previous work and qualifications, and as far as I believe, I must have answered everything according to his liking because a small smile appeared on his face. “Why do you think you are the perfect candidate for this job?”

“I have enough patience to deal with any issue that would arise, and since I don't have much of a personal life, I will be very devoted to my job.”

“Thank you, Miss.Arcos. You can leave now, we will contact you soon.” he said, and I nodded my head and walked out of there. I went back to my apartment, and after taking a quick shower, I changed into more comfortable clothes before I began my drive to the pack.

It was a three-hour drive from where I was living, and I knew I couldn't live there and come to work in the city, but all I wanted was membership in this pack so that I would not be holding the status of a rogue. When I arrived at the pack, I drove straight to the pack house, parked my car there, and walked inside. This pack house was massive, and I didn't know where I should go when I saw a group of girls walking in my direction.

“Excuse me,” I said, and one of them looked up at me. “I am here to see the Alpha. Do you know where I should go?”

“Go upstairs and take the left, you will see Miss. Lopez’s room, head inside, and she will guide you further.” one of the girls said, and I nodded my head and walked upstairs. When I saw the door with a nameplate I was looking for, I knocked on the door and waited.

“Come in.” I heard a soft feminine voice, so I pushed the door open and walked inside. “What can I…” the woman stopped midway, her eyes widened in surprise while I stood rooted to my place, shocked. “Oh my! You are…” I didn't wait till she finished her sentence because I stormed out of there and left the pack house.

I never in a million years thought that I would ever meet Jose’s fiancee in person. She looked shocked to see me, but I was even more devastated to see her. I know I should not compare myself with her, but I guess now I understand why Jose liked her. She looked like a Greek goddess, whereas, I looked like someone who walked out from a twelve-hour shift at a shoe factory.

“Adella, wait!” I heard her chasing after me, but I quickly started my car and left that place. Tears started rolling down my cheeks, but I didn't stop. It's only been a few days since everything went downhill, and the scar is still fresh, when I saw her, the only thing that came to my mind was the picture of Jose and his fiancee kissing.

Gamma Jose Gomez - POV

Ring ring.

“What is it, Sebastian?”

“Alpha Alonso wants you to come home, Jose.”

“I have to replace her before she goes even further away from me.” I insisted when I heard him sigh.

“I understand, but I don't think we can replace her without properly having a plan. So please come back home, Jose.” Sebastian explained, and even though I wanted to object, deep down, I knew that he was right. So far, I have not given a clue as to where she is, and I know that just going around every town is only a waste of time.

“I will be there in a while.” I finally mumbled.

“Okay, we will meet you at Alpha Alonso’s office then,” he said before the line was disconnected. I slowed down my car before I took a U-turn and headed back to my pack.

“I can sense her moving further away from us,” Carlos whined, and it hurt to hear this. I was physically able to feel the pain of the mate bond stretching, and as time passed by, my fear of losing her forever grew.
