Adella Arcos - POV

For a few seconds, Jose was frozen in shock when a smile slowly worked its way up his face. “A…Adella, are you serious?” he asked me in disbelief, and I nodded my head.

“We are destined to be together, but that was not the reason I accepted you. It's because you genuinely wanted me in your life, and I am happy to see that change in you.” I said before I walked into my apartment building.

It has been a long day today, but I am happy that I was finally able to make a decision. I walked into my apartment and made my way to my room. After removing my makeup and getting into my comfy clothes, I called my best friend.

“Hello, how are you?” Summer asked me.

“Doing good.”

“Great, you will be here in the morning, right?” she asked me.

“I badly wanted to come, Summer. But I wasn't able to get a leave tomorrow, but I promise that I will be there for the party in the evening.” I told her, but I didn't get a response from her.

“It would have been nice to have you here with me, but never mind. I will see you in the evening then,” she said.

“Also, can I bring someone with me?” I asked her, getting nervous right now.

“Who is that someone?” she asked me, but from her tone, I know that she must have guessed it. A few weeks back, I told Summer about my decision to give Jose a second chance, in the beginning, she was mad at me, and she didn't even speak to me for a few days. One day, she called me out of the blue to only warn me to be wary about him and that she hoped that I wouldn't get hurt again.

“It's Jose,” I told her before the line became quiet again.

“Okay,” was all she responded, and that was when something pricked my conscience.

“Can I ask you something, Summer?”

“Sure.”

“You hated Jose so much just before I left the pack, so what made you change your perspective towards him?”

“I had been wanting to tell this to you earlier, but after Jose met you at the cafe, he had come to meet me. He explained everything that happened, and he even showed me the diary. He looked so devastated, Adella. I don't know if it was due to my rapid mood swings, but I felt like he deserves a second chance too.”

“I never knew anyone could have melted your heart.” I joked.

“I never thought so, too. But when I heard what he went through in his childhood, I thought he at least deserves a chance to rectify his mistake.”

“You are right. Anyway, I will see you tomorrow?”

“Sure, good night.”

“Good night,” I said before the line was disconnected. I left a quick text message to Jose telling him about tomorrow’s plan and went to sleep.

Clash!

I heard something break, which jolted me awake, and I looked around my surroundings when I saw that it was two am. I got up from my bed, took the silver knife from under my pillow, and walked out of my room. The balcony door was broken, and the cold breeze was coming inside, bringing with it a distinct scent.

Everything happened in a flash. Someone grabbed me from behind, but I was quicker and banged my head exactly on his throat, making him stagger behind. I turned around when I saw that it was beta, Lanzo. I didn't give him time to recover because I charged toward him and made sure to make a few deep cuts on a few of his pressure points.

“You!” he yelled, but he was quickly recovering, and I knew that I would not be able to fight with him for long, so I ran out of my apartment building. I was about to scream and call everyone, but I knew that if I did that, I was only putting the humans in danger, so I ran out of the apartment building.

“Adella, stop right there!” I heard Beta Lanzo’s voice, which only made me quicken my pace.

“Argh!” he grabbed my hair, making me scream, and pulled me back.

“I don't think it is easy for you to run from me.” he sneered at me, but I glared at him before I did a roundhouse kick and then stabbed him in the back.

“I am not the weak Adella you saw a few weeks back, you bastard.” I spat at him before I ran away. I was so busy focusing on the streets that I didn't see the rope on the floor, which made me tackle the ground, and quickly someone put a bag on my head. There was something inside the bag that was making me dizzy and disoriented, and I started to slowly lose my sense of hearing.

“You got her?” I heard a distant voice, but I didn't stay awake long to hear the response.

Gamma Jose Gomez - POV

What time do you want me to pick you up?- Jose.

I sent her a text.

Pick me up at four- Adella.

Isn't this a tea party?- Jose.

It is, but then I am swamped with work I did inform Summer-Adella.

Okay, see you later- Jose.

I kept my phone aside and continued my work, but something didn't feel right at all. So I called the place where she works. The phone rang for a long time when someone finally answered it.

“Hello, I am Elizabeth Bell from Continent Hotel, how can I assist you today?”

“Hi, I am looking to speak with Adella Arcos. Is she there?”

“I am sorry, sir, but I am not supposed to be…”

“I am here boyfriend, Jose.” I interrupted.

“Oh, she has talked about you. Well, she didn't come to work today.” Elizabeth said, and this made my heart nearly stop.

“Oh okay, thank you,” I said and disconnected the call. I quickly left my house, got into my car, and drove to her apartment.
