Chapter 849

Olivia patted her on the back. "Silly girl, how are you alone? Your parents, Ken, and I are here for you."

"But my brother..."

Olivia did not know whether to tell her about Ken avenging her.

She eventually fell silent momentarily and only said, "Ken's only pretending to be unconcerned. He cares about you. Maybe he doesn't know how to face you."

'Is that so?"

"Yeah, it must be."

Olivia helped Kate wipe away her tears and asked, "Kate, have you... have you thought about telling him sometime?"

Kate paused and quickly shook her head. "No, no, don't tell him. He'll only avoid me more if he replaces out."

"You're a patient. I'm not supposed to tell you this, but..."

Olivia had mixed emotions. Many emotions crowded her chest, making her feel like she was going to explode.

'The doctor said you suffered internal injuries and wasn't sure if you had any other problems. I'm only afraid you'll never be able to tell him the truth in the future." "Is my illness... that serious?"

Olivia shook her head. "Don't entertain foolish ideas. I only said that because I don't want you to have regrets..."

With that said, she bit her lip. "It's all my fault. Why did I talk nonsense?

How could you be in trouble? You'd better take your time and think it over. I'll get you some hot water to wash your face so you can have breakfast comfortably." Olivia wanted to slap herself after running into the bathroom.

'What the hell did I say?

'How could I talk to a patient like that? What if Kate thinks she's dying?'

It was taboo for a patient's mentality to be negative.

Tm really...'

She must have had a lot on her mind lately that she was confused.

Almost three or four days after the auction, Olivia saw Milo again, and it was in Kate's room at the hospital.

She went out to get some hot water and returned to see Milo standing by the bed in a black suit talking to Kate.

"Phoebe, there's somebody here to see you."

Kate happened to see her and quickly waved to her.

For some reason, seeing Milo here made Olivia feel uncomfortable, even repulsed.

'Sir, what are you doing here?"

Milo looked up at her and smiled. "You said your friend was hospitalized last time, so I brought a fruit basket over to see you two."

"See me? What happened?"

"Can't I just talk to you and grab some coffee?"

Olivia smiled half-heartedly. "Sure, but I'm not used to your sudden enthusiasm, Sir."

Milo raised his eyebrows and said, "It seems you have a problem with me."

"No, I don't."

Olivia put the flask down and quickly waved her hand. "Sir, you misunderstand me. I only think you're not your usual self, so I'm... not so used to it."

"Now that we've met, it's natural to have a different style. If you don't like it, we can return to the way it used to be."

"That's unnecessary. But will you wait for me outside, Sir? I'll talk to my friend alone and come out to see you." "Sure, no problem."

Milo nodded to Kate. "Goodbye, Ms. Lucas."

"Goodbye."

Once Milo left, Olivia hurried up to Kate and whispered, "What did he come to talk to you about?"

'Nothing much. Just where you've gone. Then he asked how I'm doing and so on. What's come over you?"

When Kate took her hand, she noticed it was shaking and was confused. 'What's your relationship? Why is your hand shaking so much?" Olivia shook her head. "It's okay. I'll be back in a minute. Call me if you need anything."

"Oh."

Olivia knew something was wrong.

Why did Mr. M's elegance and gentleness disappear after they met? Instead, it was oppressive.
