Girl’s Gorgeous Rebirth By Novia Ford -
Chapter 11
Chapter 11
This game was getting more and more interesting. I picked up a pill and gracefully put it in my mouth, but the next second I spit it out because it was so bitter.
I didn’t know when Frederic came back. He was standing in the doorway changing his shoes just in time to see me spit out the vitamin. A flash of disgust was apparent in his eyes. He said indifferently, “Don’t force yourself to do that.”
I said. “It’s none of your business.” I took a sip of water and thought Frederic was strange these days. I asked, “What are you doing back here?”
Frederic vigorously undid his tie. This simple, rough action made him look handsome.
Frederic sat down across from me and answered me with an expressionless face, “This is my home too. Can’t I come back?”
I nodded and said, “You’re right about that.” Then I put my head down and continued to take vitamins with water.
It was very bitter. I was used to drinking black coffee with no sugar, but I still can’t get used to the bitterness of the vitamins. I spit the vitamin and water out again before it could slide down my throat. This time I spit the water so far that part of it splashed directly onto
Frederic’s face and shirt.
Frederic became sullen immediately and stared at me coldly.
The vitamin was too bitter for me to say anything. After seeing the drops of water hanging from the tips of Frederic’s long eyelashes, I
drew a tissue and pressed it to his face. That was my last courtesy.
Frederic grabbed my hand and shook it off. I froze in shock at the look of disgust in his eyes. The familiar bitterness in my heart instantly spread throughout my body.
I said, “I’m sorry. It is too bitter.” I stayed calm and threw the tissue in my hand on the floor.
Frederic didn’t answer me. He just stood up and went upstairs to change his clothes.
At that moment, Kira came in. She quickly cleaned up the dirty scene. She was a little more diligent and attentive than the others.
When Kira finished cleaning, I said a little tiredly, “Kira, go make dinner.”
Kira nodded and went to the kitchen to make dinner.
I pinched my nose and finished the rest of the vitamins. Food alone didn’t provide me with enough nutrients anymore. I had to take some medication to regulate my body and gain some weight.
I went upstairs after I finished the vitamins. I went to the cello room, opened the dust bag, and took out the cello which I hadn’t played for a long time, and then I played the strings alone. The low, elegant sound of the cello filled the entire room.
I was immersed in the sound of the cello, remembering what I had experienced. I didn’t know when Frederic pushed open the cello room door.
“It’s so noisy,” Frederic said somewhat angrily.
I didn’t want to play the cello anymore, but when I heard Frederic say that, I was angry. In my last life, it was because he thought my cello
was noisy that I put my beloved cello away.
Now I understood why Greta and the others said I was stupid.
I angrily played my cello twice at random, making a raucous noise. Hearing that, Frederic frowned.
I lowered my cello bow gracefully and said softly, “Then let’s get a divorce. After the divorce, we won’t have to live together and you won’t be disturbed by the sound of my cello.”
Frederic replied mockingly, “Even if we’re not divorced, we don’t have to live together.”
“Then what are you doing back here?” I didn’t know what drew Frederic home.
I didn’t think Frederic came home because of me.
Frederic couldn’t seem to get used to me being so eloquent. He became angrier. In his temper, he should turn away now. All he had to do was make a phone call, and a lot of women would throw themselves at him.
But Frederic held back his anger. He said, “Sylvia, don’t you want me to come back? Do you have a new lover?”
I wondered, “Is he coming back so often because he suspects I’m cheating on him? Does he want to catch me on the spot?”
I opened my eyes wide and said, “So what if I have a new lover? Didn’t you say it’s fine as long as I don’t publicize it?”
Frederic said in a fierce voice, “How dare you do that?”
I said, “Men and women have equal rights. Why can’t I do what you do?”
Just as we were confronting each other, Kira said carefully, “Mr. Hudson, Mrs. Hudson, the meal is ready.”
I pushed Frederic away and went downstairs for dinner. I never wanted to torture my body for him again.
Kira was good at cooking. She made three dishes and a soup, which were good in color, flavor, and taste. I ate a lot. I saw Frederic go downstairs and leave from the corner of my eye.
I finished the last mouthful of soup and complimented Kira with a smile on my face, “The food is delicious. Kira, you are excellent at cooking. It’s good to have you around.”
Kira was somewhat shy. She said, “Mrs. Hudson, I just cooked some simple dishes. You flatter me.”

I shook my head and said, “I’m telling the truth. Your cooking is really good. Hasn’t your family ever complimented you?”
Kira said, “My daughter likes my cooking too and often asks me to open a small restaurant. But it’s not as simple as she thinks.” There was a gentle look in Kira’s eyes when she talked about her daughter.
I kept smiling and said, “Your daughter is right. Achieving goals is easy when luck is on your side.”
Before I died in my last life, I wanted to see Frederic one more time. My mom told me it was the opening day of Frederic’s future mother–in- law’s restaurant and he was there to cut the ribbon, so he didn’t have time to come over and see me.
Frederic invested in that restaurant, which ranked in the top three in Aroma City, so the opening ceremony was very grand.
Kira answered me respectfully and humbly, “Mrs. Hudson, we’re just an ordinary family of three, so luck will never be on our side.”

I said, “You will never know when luck will be on your side. Kira, what if your daughter marries a good man?” I wanted to tell Kira right away that she didn’t have to be so down on herself because there was less than half a month before good luck would be on their side.
However, I bit those words back. I left the table after seeing Kira give me an awkward smile.
I knew Emilia and her family weren’t bad.
In my last life, her parents were extremely opposed to her being with Frederic at first. Emilia hadn’t even graduated from college yet, and she was already in a passionate relationship with a married man. It would be a shame for her family if others knew that.
However, Kira and Sam were touched by Frederic with his persistence and decided to accept him.
But what they didn’t know was that while they were all happy, I, Frederic’s wife, was going through the most agonizing pain.
After a shower, I lay comfortably in bed. As usual, I played with my phone for a while before sleeping. I happened to see the nightly entertainment news of Frederic having fun at the bar, accompanied by Davin and two or three beautiful women.
Frederic could easily be the center of attention in a crowd because of his status. Even the news of him going to the roadside market to eat something normal could be the trending topic.
Since I was Frederic’s wife, many netizens mentioned me in the comments section.
“How is his wife so forgiving? I want to learn from her.”
“If he were my husband, I’d do anything.”
“I disagree with the previous commenter. You wouldn’t be able to handle such a disgusting thing, but I can do that.”
“You’re immoral. Frederic’s had a million scandals since he’s been married. He is a playboy.”
“The paparazzi are not very professional. They can’t get the key shot every time.”
Some sympathized with me, some envied me, and some laughed at me, but I didn’t care what they said.
Just as I was about to sleep, Janessa gave me a call. I became not sleepy at all.
Janessa said hurriedly, “Syl, come over now. Something is wrong.”
