Girl’s Gorgeous Rebirth By Novia Ford -
Chapter 110
Chapter 110
Ruben, however, said calmly, “I didn’t feel that way.”
“Why? Are you planning to live alone for the rest of your life?” I asked, eating my meal and smiling.
“No, it’s just…” Ruben hesitated, then laughed and didn’t answer the question. Instead, he peeled some shrimp and put them in my bowl. “Sylvia, you’re too thin, eat more.”
I didn’t want it to be like this either, but I don’t know why my weight gain plan has never been smooth. So far, I have only gained a total of 2kg, and occasionally it even decreases.
It was probably because Kira was fired too early. If she had cooked for me for a little longer, maybe I could have exceeded 50kg and had an enviable figure.
Ruben is much younger than me, so even after chatting for a long time, I can still sense that he is somewhat immature.
For example, his views on many things were rather naive, either black or white. I didn’t argue with him, just went along with what he said. At that moment, he would show a happy smile, as if he was glad that we shared the same opinion.
After finishing the buffet, Ruben and I left the restaurant. Marcel had already taken the car back, so I needed to take a taxi home today.
“It’s snowing again,” I said as I watched the snowflakes fall from the sky. I reached out my hand and caught one,
feeling a sense of joy. I carefully observed its shape.
“Sylvia, do you like to drink hot cocoa?” Ruben said, with his hands tucked into his jacket pockets, and I could see his breath as he spoke.
He had double eyelids, big eyes, long eyelashes, and clear
eyes.
I used to love drinking hot cocoa when I was in college, but I rarely drank it after getting married.
Drinking a cup of hot cocoa in this kind of weather seems nice.
I nodded, while Ruben immediately ran to a nearby store. The store was doing well and there was a queue, so he patiently waited.
At that moment, my phone vibrated. I rubbed my freezing red hands together and took out my phone from my pocket. It was Frederic’s call.
“Hello?” I answered the phone, sniffing before speaking.
“Where were you?” Frederic asked coldly.
“What’s the matter? I’m on Elm Street,” I replied, looking around.
“With whom?” Frederic asked concisely.
I was confused about what connection this had with him.
P
Even according to his previous definition, Ruben couldn’t be considered his good friend.
I simply asked him, “And you? Where were you?”
After two seconds of silence, Frederic spoke, “Don’t you know?”
“Who?” I asked, pressing for an answer.
“He came with Emilia, but now he is alone in the hotel,” Frederic’s response was surprisingly quick, concise, yet detailed.
I suddenly didn’t know how to respond.
After a while, I finally spoke up, “Did you call suddenly just to replace out where I am? Why do you suspect me? You went out alone with Emilia yourself, and I didn’t question you. Frederic, how dare you question me?”
This is what I learned online. Women should not reason, if they don’t know how to respond, they should question the other person.
Sure enough, Frederic was infuriated by me. Then he took a deep breath, and his breathing was clearly audible through the phone. He said, “Take care of Tristan’s cat and then take his cat and Emilia’s ex–boyfriend to the pet store? Sylvia Scott, how can you be so good at playing?”
“How did you know?” I blurted out. Frederic knew that I was taking care of Gigi, which was normal because I had posted about it on my Timeline. He should be familiar with that cat.
