Chapter 1010 This Won't Make Patrick Happy Either
The hotel room had a kitchen stocked with all the necessary spices and seasonings. However, they needed to prepare the ingredients themselves. Patrick checked what ingredients they had and called customer service to have any missing ones delivered.
Aimee sat at the island counter in her robe, watching Patrick mix various spices together. He made a mistake as early as the third spice, but Aimee didn't say anything.
After finishing mixing all of the spices together, Patrick tasted it and frowned in disappointment. Aimee asked if he wanted help from someone else.
Patrick replied, "If I promised you that I would do it myself like a man, then I will keep my word."
Aimee countered with "You can ask me for help too since we're married."
Patrick responded by saying that he didn't want his wife helping him because then he wouldn't be much of a man anymore.
Despite this exchange making Aimee happy, she hesitated when Patrick made mistakes even up until his fifth bowl of seasoning mixtures. She knew that if she didn't step in soon, she might not get to eat her noodles until tomorrow morning.
Luckily for her though, before she could speak up about helping out herself or ordering takeout instead - which would've been fine too - Patrick took care of everything himself without leaving her hungry or waiting around empty-handed.
Although his cooking skills had improved greatly over time (he was now better than any other Hayden family sibling), there were still some areas where he fell short compared to others who were more skilled in this area than him like professional chefs or home cooks who'd been doing it for years on end without fail.
Aimee rested her chin and saw that Patrick had already been making the ninth bowl, and asked again, "Do you really don't want my help?"
Patrick had a momentary urge, and maybe, he shouldn't have.
However, today he really wanted to challenge this bowl of seasoning, and he was really unconvinced.
"Give me six more chances," Patrick said.
When he reached the fifteenth bowl, if he still can't do it, then he can only bow his head to reality.
Aimee readily agreed, but really didn't make a sound to remind him.
All of Patrick's patience in his life was actually given to Aimee.
If it wasn't for Aimee's noodles, Patrick might have lost his temper long ago.
However, because this noodle was what Aimee wanted to eat, Patrick was very focused and patiently mixed it.
Aimee had been accompanying Patrick here all along, watching him make different mistakes each time but also seeing him getting closer and closer to the correct answer.
In fact, Aimee was a little nervous.
Naturally, she hoped that Patrick would succeed. Otherwise, even if he did it for her sake alone, only they two would know about it. But they had already spent so much time and effort on this, if he still got it wrong in the end, Patrick would feel discouraged.
Aimee even thought about how to remind Patrick without being too obvious about it.
However, this was impossible to achieve.
Patrick knew her too well and she knew him too well as well.
He could easily read what her actions meant. How could he not notice?
Trying to remind him would be like handing over the correct answer directly to him. This wouldn't make Patrick happy either.
