Heart Of A Lycan King -
Chapter 35
AIDEN
‘Kill him.’
Leo’s voice echoed loudly in my head, and I would have done just that if I wasn’t desperately trying to cling onto any bit of sanity I had left. I could feel the rage seeping through my veins, curling around my chest like a treacherous snake and squeezing every inch of me it could reach. My eyes were bloodshot, my ears rang in a way that silenced everything around me, I could feel the way my chest tightened and constricted due to anguish.
I was a ball of emotions. Rage. Anguish. Pain. Terror. And I knew only one thing could set that in place, and that was beating this piece of trash to a plump.
He tried to shield his face, and I curled my fist and punched him right in the gut, sending him flying across the hall. He cried out in agony, as I lunged at him without even hesitating. My eyes were clouded with rage, yet the urge to rip his throat out was overpowering me.
“Aiden!” someone called behind me, but I paid no attention as I lunged at Matteo again. My first punch landed squarely on his jaw, as he struggled to stand up. I drove my knee into the side of his ribs, and he cursed aloud as he fell to the ground.
Leo was pushing through, willing to take over. But I had to have my fill first before I gave him the chance to. The rage rolling off of him combined with mine was something I had never thought I was capable of feeling. Yet, here I was, on the brink of murdering Matteo for the way he had spoken about my mate. I could take anything, and could endure anything. But the one thing I would never tolerate was someone insulting my mate.
“How dare you insult my mate?!” I thundered, hitting his bloodstained face again while punctuating each word with a sound punch to his face.
He was gasping, and I knew he was fighting to breathe, but I was past caring about any of that. All I wanted was to make sure he couldn’t and wouldn’t move even if he wanted to by the time I was done with him. I heard voices behind me, but I couldn’t make out what was being said. It was as though I had blocked everything and everyone and focused only on the i.diot before me. He smelled so bad I had to shut my eyes in shame for him.
The i.diot had peed his pants!
My burn scar heated up once again, and it hurt so f*****g much. It always happens when I got physical with someone, but I ignored the pain as my mind was clouded by rage.
“Aiden!” Baba’s voice reached to me, before I was abruptly pulled back with a force I knew I couldn’t match.
I was breathing hard as I stared at Matteo’s plump figure slip to the ground. I huffed, and ran my bloodstained hands through my messy hair as I looked away. I wasn’t done.
I still craved his b***d.
“Do not let your rage ruin a perfect plan,” Baba hissed, rubbing his hand behind my back for a moment. “Show how a true king acts,” he added, then strolled back to his seat.
I looked up at the elders staring at me wide eyed. Only Baba, I, Kamal, Kane, and two of the elders knew I was also in the grand hall. Only they knew that this was planned, that it was a trick used to lure Matteo here so I can have a reason to punish him.
The day before I had left for my match, which was the same day Leo and Nala had an encounter, I went to Baba and openly told him that regardless of what he does or what he thinks about my mate, I would be keeping her, and she was going to rule beside me. Baba and I had an in-depth conversation, and it ended well, because he explained that he was only against the union because he thought she was a full-blooded Malakarian.
My Baba has always been supportive of what I want. Except for when it comes to Mav.
After our conversation, I told him about what Elder Manze’s son did, and how I was certain the father wouldn’t ignore it but would try to stir up political unrest for his selfish benefits. I told Baba of the condition I had found my mate in the Malakari pack, and how I suspected the Alpha, who was her ex mate, to be responsible. That was when Baba and I came up with a plan.
It was simple. Baba would openly show his dislike of Nala to Elder Manze, who would no doubt tell his nephew about it and they would try to pull a dirty trick. That would give me an opening to conduct a private investigation on the pack without making it look like I was doing it for Nala.
It would have been a lot easier to ask the members of the pack if they had witnessed her being abused, but that would bring unnecessary attention towards her and her lineage, which was the last thing I wanted. For all the Elders to try working together and turn public attention towards Nala. It would never be a good thing.
Which was why this idea had been the perfect disguise.
But I never thought the b.astard would come here to spew nonsense like this.
‘He shouldn’t leave here alive, Aiden. Either you do it, or I will,’ Leo snarled.
I sighed, looked up at the Elders who were still staring at me in shock before I walked up to my throne and took my seat. I was still shaking with rage, trying to keep my temper in check. I hardly paid any attention to the hall, or the way it was decorated so grandly. Huge braziers lined the columns, bathing the room in their pale orange light. The many paintings of past conquerors and kings which decorate the ceiling flicker from the light of the dancing flames, but my eyes were not on them today. Instead, my gaze was fixed on Matteo, who was still struggling to stand.
Soon, all the Elders stood up, excluding Baba, and did the formal greeting, with their hands on the chest, knees on the ground, and heads bowed.
“Greetings, Your Eminence!!!” They all chorused at the same time.
I waved my hand, still struggling to work with the lump in my throat. The blisters on my knuckles were already healed. I watched as the i***t coughed from where he laid as his Beta helped him up.
I snapped my fingers and within seconds, Kane and Kamal strolled into the hall.
“Good day, Elders,” I finally managed to speak as I stood up. “You’ve all been gathered here to witness the foul plays of this man, who calls himself an Alpha.” I stood before them, hands clasped on my back. “Today, he is charged with crimes that he has committed, and to top it all, he’ll also be charged for insulting the honor of my mate, who is your future Queen,” I growled.
The Elders looked at each other, as Baba simply nodded his head.
“But we have to think about his claims reg…”
“If anyone has anything to say about my mate, you can say it to my face,” I snarled, the pounding in my head increasing.
Now that I was trying to contain my rage, I could feel the burn from my scar. Every time I got this angry, and physical, it never ended well. I moved my arms in circles, hoping that would ease the tension on my back. But it didn’t really help much.
“All we are simply saying is that he may be right and…”
“Right about my mate being a slut?” I growled, and in a flash, I was standing before the Elder that had spoken, fists curled tightly on either side as I tried to control myself from doing anything stupid. “Or the fact that she’s cursed? Or a lowly Omega undeserving of the Queen title?” I snarled.
“Aiden…” Baba’s warning voice floated to my ears.
I huffed again. I really need to do something about my rage. But Matteo’s presence was not helping much. The fact that he was mere inches away from me was enough to cause my anger to rise even more.
“All what he said are baseless accusations. Recently, I’ve had my Delta investigate the happenings in your pack.” I turned to face Matteo, who was now standing, leaning half of his body on his body against his Beta. “But before I start with that, I’ll begin by clearing the lies he had spewed about my mate.
“First, Natasha might be an omega, but she’s not a lowly Omega in my eyes. Regardless of what any of you think here about her being a curse or not, it makes little to no sense to me, because my mate is mine. Plus, my mate has been severely abused and tortured in the pack, which is against the rules and regulations I had enforced in the kingdom. For that alone, he, the Alpha, deserves to be punished.
“And what? Lies about her being a s.lut? I would like to get the answers on how she got those silver scars all over her body before we get to that. Just to be clear though, I am going to punish him for trying to degrade my mate,” I paused, sucked in a deep breath and watched as Baba nodded his head in approval. I then shifted my gaze towards Kamal and nodded my head. “Kamal.”
He stepped forward, a thick file in this hand.
“Greetings, Elders,” he said. “I’ve been investigating the Alpha of the Malakari pack and the happenings around his pack. For the past two week, six women have been missing, and we have found their bodies on the border between the Malakari pack and the Fiko forest.”
Gasps erupted all through the hall as Kamal said that, and I had to wave my hand for the silence to return, before he proceeded.
“These women are Omegas, working in the Malakari pack house. However, each of them have the same type of bite mark on their neck, which has led to their deaths. Investigation also showed that these women were having s.ex, and were almost at their climax when they were killed,” Kamal continued.

“That is not the reason I came here…”
“Shut your f*****g mouth before I shut it for you, you piece of sh.it!” I thundered, stalking towards him. “Proceed, Kamal.”
“Yesterday, we found out that all of these women had been in contact with Alpha Matteo before their deaths,” Kamal said.
“What? Are you going to accuse me of a crime I didn’t commit just to shift the attention from that lowly Omega?” Matteo grumbled. He was still weak from my beatings, although he was starting to heal.
He looked absolutely pathetic, covered in his own b***d and piss. The pungent odour was nauseating, and disgust rose to the back of my throat as I looked at him.
“For someone who prides himself to be an Alpha, and one who thinks he’s capable of saving me, you look pathetic with your wet pants standing before us, Matteo,” I said. “I would suggest you shut your mouth, because I promise you, the promise of a king, that the next time you say anything stupid about my mate, I’ll break you limb by limb!” I roared, allowing Leo to let out a reverberating growl that shook the entire hall.
He cowered, but I could see the hatred in his eyes. He wasn’t going to give up any time soon, and I wasn’t going to as well.
Kane stepped forward, holding a file as well and faced the elders.
“One of the women we found was alive however, even though she was on the brink of death. She is currently at the hospital receiving treatment. However, she had already told us all we wanted to know this morning and I have a recording of it all,” Kane said, pressing the little remote button in his hand.
Soon, the lights in the hall dimmed and we were watching a woman, whose face had been blurred, speak. She said Matteo was responsible for the bite, and that had happened because he had peed in her mouth as she was giving him a bj the night before. She went on to say that two of her friends went missing after he had come and picked them himself, and now, she was sure the same fate she had suffered was what happened to them.
The Elders gasped, as Matteo swore and screamed that it was all a lie. The only thing I didn’t like about all this, was Elder Manze’s disappearance. This meant that one of the elders who knew the plan betrayed us, and I will replace whoever was responsible.
“An Alpha peeing during an intimate moment?”
“Maybe he’s the cursed one.”
“Oh, he peed even now.”
“No wonder he was on a killing spree to save himself from humiliation.”
“This is an abomination. He shouldn’t even be an Alpha.”
Those were the words going round as the elders showed their disgust openly. They didn’t care that he had killed to save his face, all that matters was that he was embarrassing himself as an Alpha.
“We also found that he had been in contact with Elder Manze, who is currently on the run for evading tax, inciting political unrest amongst the youths in the capital, and responsible for the violation of three young Omegas working in his house,” Kane finished.
“And you dare call us here to spew nonsense when you have been killing members of your pack?” Baba growled, hitting his fist on the arm of his chair.
“No, Sabbene. This is not true. I didn’t do any of this. You have to believe me that the Omega is responsible for all of this. She is trying to make me look stupid and…”
“Are you still insulting my daughter in law?” Baba yelled.
“No…n…but all I’ve said here is the truth. She’s a slut and…”
“F*****g hell!” I roared, slamming him against the wall so powerfully that the entire building shook. I raised my fist, ready to slam it to his face when I stopped myself. No, this shouldn’t end this way.
“Before I pass my judgement as the King, I will like to defend the honor of my mate first. He will be bonded by the bond of the King, which makes it impossible for him to move an inch from his pack without my command. Thus, I, Aiden Amari Dakarai challenge you, Matteo of the Malakari pack, to a fight a day after the Kalmanshe Ceremony.”
A deadly silence descended on the hall, all of them realising the impact of my words.
