Chapter 61 – Oakley
After
a 30 minute break for us to get some water and to be checked out by the medics, the second round starts. There will only be eight matches in this round, so we fight in groups of four. Once again, I’m in the
second group that fights, this time along
with J erry. We can sit together and watch Harry, Cassie, and Lisa fight.
This time, Harry is matched with Muhammad, a short, wiry muscled guy who is extremely fast and agile. He’s the 17th seed in the competition and beat the 16th seed in the last round in just over a minute. Harry is good, but he’s not fast. He’s going to
have to use pure strength and perfect timing in order for him to beat Muhammad.
Cassie is fighting Louanne, a southern belle in the purest sense of the word. All sweet as sugar and polite as hell until you get on her bad side. Then she’s f ucking ruthless, taking down her opponent by any means necessary. She’s number 18th in the
rankings and beat number 15 to go against Cassie.
Finally, Lisa is going against Corbin, who is another f ucking tank. Unfortunately, his type is the one that Lisa is the best at fighting against. She runs f ucking circles around them and they only stand a chance if pure luck allows them to hit her. Not
blo ody likely in my opinion. Looks like Lisa’s going to the next round.
Je rry and I cheer on Harry, Cassie, and Corbin. It amazes me that Jer ry is so ok with Harry at the moment. I know the had
their bro-hug moment, but come on! Harry f ucking wigged out and sent Je rry to the hospital
When I asked Jer ry about it, he just shrugged his shoulders. “I get it. He was fl*pping out about his mate. I have yet to
figure out who mine is here, since everyone seems to have one, but I understand that he wasn’t in his right mind. Had he been, it
never would have happened. I don’t want to fight him again anytime soon and Trainer Ethan and I have talked about it, but
beyond that? We cool”
I just shake my head. That’s something that I’m never going to understand about males, I guess.
I turn my attention back to the sparring rings as soon as the whistle goes off. Everything is insanely fast as, once again,
everyone is moving at were speed. I’m starting from left to right, watching Harry first, then Cassie, then the 3rd and 14th seeds’ fight, before looking at Lisa’s fight. Unfortunately, before I’ve even finished looking at Cassie’s fight, there’s a large thud on the right side of the field and I see that Lisa has already managed to take Corbin down by popping his knee out of the joint.
F ucking A. Why can’t anyone take that b itch down?
I turn my attention back to Harry’s fight in time to see him send a spinning h ook kick to the back of Muhammad’s head. He
had anticipated where Muhammad would be and took him down, dazing him when he hit the ground. It’s easy from there for Harry to hold him down and punch him until he’s knocked out.
Cassie and Louanne are the only ones still fighting at this point and it looks like it’s pretty f ucking blo ody. Both are already sporting brusies on their faces, Louanne’s right eye is so swollen it’s nearly shut, and Cassie is limping a bit on her left side. Suddenly, Louanne runs straight at Cassie. She jukes left and then tries to catch Cassie with her right foot, straight at Cassie’s weak knee. But Cassie sees it coming, grabbing Louanne’s foot and using it to swing her to the side, straight into the dirt.
Louanne skids a few feet, scraping up her side and part of her face and then Cassie’s on her. At that point, Louanne doesn’t stand a chance. Oh, she tries to buck Cassie off of her b*dy, but it doesn’t work. Soon, she’s knocked unconscious and Cassie is
declared the winner.
Next, Je rry and I are up against our opponents. Je rry is fighting the 21st ranked seed, Willow. I’ve never seen someone
have such an inaccurate name. Saying the name Willow makes you think of someone, well willowy. Tall and lean, flexible, and kind of hippy like. That is not the Willow we know. She’s a short, compact little ball of muscle and rage. My story is pretty f ucked up but hers? Close second. She had a mate that said that he wanted her, even got her pregnant, only to mark another f ucked yorique
Chapter 61 – Oakley
she-wolf because he didn’t want a “b utch” warrior for his mate. The feeling of him marking the other she-wolf caused her to lose her baby. Even worse? The pack backed him up, saying that he had the right to choose whoever he wanted as his mate. So males? Yeah, not a fan. Je rry was going to have his hands full with that one.
Me? I’m going against the 23rd seed, a right p rick, Florian Xavier Alexander II. Yes, I know his full f ucking name. He made sure to say it enough. His family was one of the wealthiest on the entire continent, both from the human and wolfen sides. They manufactured pens. F ucking pens! But they’re the cheap ones that everyone has: banks, offices, supermarkets, shi t in your ‘home. They’re everywhere! His story is that he came here because his mate died and he didn’t want anything to do with his
family’s company after that. He needed to do something completely different. But someone doesn’t work and fight the way he does, not to mention throw his family name around like that when they are tired of them. No, something happened that sent him here. He just doesn’t want to be honest about it.
Florian’s fatal flaw? His arrogance.
And it’s what’s going to win me this round. Dude bro doesn’t think that I have what it takes to beat him, even though I’m more than twice as high as he is in the rankings. He, like many males from packs across the continent, thinks that a couple of extra inches in his pants makes him a better fighter. Even with Trainer Sophia being the leader of our training and the Head Commander of the Elite 10. Even with seven of the top ten in the rankings being female. He still thinks that any she-wolf he comes into the sparring ring with will easily be taken down.
I’m going to enjoy handing his as s to him.
Cassie doesn’t even give me any pointers for kicking his as s. Just spits in his direction, blood mixed with her saliva from her healing busted l*p, and says, “Waste him.”
I snort. “Gladly.”
I walk to my side of the ring and automatically sink into a defensive crouch. Florian looks at me and gives a chuckle. “Are you sure that you want to fight me, sweetheart? I’m a good foot taller than you and have at least 100 pounds more muscle on me. I wouldn’t want you to break a nail.”
Where the f uck does this guy get this sh it? None of the she-wolves that he’s faced have been the type that he’s describing every girl to be and yet he still persists with the stereotype? I f ucking hope that this knocks him out of the rankings and out of the castle, cause I’m about done with his sh it.
Seems that Ray is too, as I hear a snart from the sidelines as Ray stands in line with us to watch the match. He doesn’t say anything. He’s not trying to undermine my ability to take care of myself. He’s just pis sed that someone would treat any she-wolf, especially his mate, the way that Florian is
“We’ll just see who’s worried about their nails by the time we’re done, shall we, sweetheart?” I say in a sickly sweet voice.
He throws his head back laughing and I change my stance while he’s looking away. I’m not going on defense this time. I’m going to show this pr ick a thing or two.
“Hey, Ray!” I call as I wait for everyone around me to get ready.
“Yeah?” he growls out, still staring at Florian with black eyes as his wolf comes out to see.
“What’s the fastest time that any fights have finished today?” I ask.
From my peripheral vision, I see Ray smile. It looks very sinister with his wolf still turning his eyes black. “A minute, ten.”
I smile. “Set you stop watch.
Florian just smirks at me, not even fully getting into a defensive stance before the whistle sounds and I’m running at him.
