"The madam went out this afternoon and hasn't returned yet," the butler replied.

She kept a straight face and her story was convincing.

If Agnes hadn't seen her with Berlin at the golf club that afternoon, she might actually have believed her.

Agnes smiled, "Ms. Laura, I hear you were quite the famous actress in the movie industry twenty years ago."

"Today, I was having lunch with a friend at a high-end golf course restaurant, and I think I saw Ms. Laura with your friend, but not a group of female friends, it was a guy."
