Chapter 39

Theodore

After Melony walked out of my office earlier today, I have been busy ever since. I wanted to try and get everything planned and completed so I could spend all day with my mate before the battle. We should have the upper hand going into this, but anything could happen at anytime, especially if someone from our pack is a traitor and working with them. They could already know our plan going into this and the last thing I want is Melony's life on the line.

I mapped out all of the hiding locations for our warriors around the cottage. I have some hanging back to protect our boarders because if they do get past us we still have to protect our territory. I ran through the plan with Todd for all the women and children that wouldn't be fighting and getting them to the safe house. Normally, the Luna would be in charge of getting everyone to safety, but unfortunately, we need Mel to carry out our plan. Olive is the next in line to take the responsibility. Todd is going to go over all the details with Olive in the morning. I know Todd is completely relieved that Olive will stay in the safe house, considering they just found out she is with pup. I am extremely happy for them. I can't help but picture my mate round and carrying a pup of our own. I was able to walk to our front gate and pick up the potions that were left for our warriors and myself to take to mask our scent. I really hated working with witches but Melony insisted that her parents had been friends with Belinda for a long time and she is truth-worthy. I was very surprised to learn that Belinda is actually Melony's Godmother.

Melony walked into my life and literally changed everything. I was making alliances with witches. I gave leniency. I was talking to members on personal and friendly levels. I still trained everyone hard and expected the best out of our pack, but I allowed them time with their families and for themselves. I was going into battle over my mate and Luna. I promised myself years ago when my mother had passed I would never take a mate. I thought my mate would weaken me, and I would fall apart as Alpha. So far, Mel has done nothing but blindside me. She has made me more forgiving. She makes me see the good in people. She has made me more protective over my pack because now I have her to protect also. She is all I think about day and night. She has opened my heart and crawled inside and taken it over completely. She is the most beautiful person, inside and out. She brings light to my life, happiness and laughter. She makes me feel like a hormonal teenager sometimes. Her gorgeous green-blue eyes that light up whenever she sees me, or the way they turn purple with l**t, or when Harper takes over. Her smile is contagious. I love her so much and I can't imagine anyone else being by my side anymore.

I am finally finished with all the planning and Todd and I are headed down to his room to meet up with the girls. It's 11PM, so who knows what they have gotten themselves into? We walk through his door and the sight before us has us both awestruck. Olive is up on the pillows sitting higher than Melony with her arms wrapped around my mate. Her head is resting on the top of Melony's head. Mel is snuggled into Olive's chest, hugging her tightly. Both of them are sound asleep.

I'll grab Melony and be on our way. I will try carefully not to wake up either of them. I told Todd through our link. He nodded in agreement, walking around to the side where Olive was sleeping. As we both got closer, we noticed that both of the girls had tear streaks staining their faces as if they had been crying. I looked at Todd for answers but he shrugged his shoulders at me.

"I haven't heard from Olive all day. Maybe they just missed each other?" I wasn't sure if it was a question or a statement.

I'm not sure. I haven't heard from Melony either. I'll ask her about it tomorrow or when she wakes up. I will let you know what I replace out. With that, I slowly bent down to scoop Mel up into my arms and carry her up to our room. As if it was the most natural thing, she snuggled right into me and let out a cute little sigh of contentment. Her arms instinctively wrapped around my neck and I could feel her breathing in my scent. I couldn't help the goofy grin that spread across my face. I dipped my head down to kiss the top of her head and made my way to our bedroom.

Once inside our room, I had laid Melony down on our bed and I made my way into our closet to change into something comfortable to sleep in. I could hear the blankets rustling around while I was replaceing sweat pants to pull on. When I emerged from the closet, Melony was facing toward me, lying on my pillow, looking at me through her hooded eyes.

"Hey baby." she gave me a lazy smile. She looked so cute, tired and sleepy but shinning with love for me.

"Hello my love." I leaned in the doorway just looking at the beauty lying on my bed.

I woke up to Theo laying me down on our bed, his scent engulfing all around me. I rolled over to his pillow to take a look at the clock on his stand and saw that it was a little after 11PM. Theodore walked out of the closet and I felt myself instantly start to heat up. His tousled hair, with gray sweat pants, and no shirt. His muscles were on full display. His bare chest I just wanted to lick and kiss all over. I gave him the best smile I could after just waking up. "Hey baby."

A small smile spread across his face, "Hello my love." His deep husky voice was not helping with the wetness that was pooling between my legs. I saw Theodore's eyes darken a little more. "Mel, I can smell your arousal from over here, you little tease."

"Why am I teasing? Come lie down Theo, please?" I poked my bottom lip out in a pout. He slowly made his way over to the bed and I scooted over to make room for him. He seems pretty tired, so maybe I should just let him sleep. Theodore turned to face me and pushed the hair from my face that had fallen over my eyes. I looked up at his handsome face.

"Melony?" He was looking at me like he was trying to figure something out by looking in my eyes.

"Hmm?" I answered.

"Are you okay? When I arrived to pick you up from Olive and Todd's room, it looked like you and her had been crying, you had stains down your cheeks. I haven't heard from you all day. I am worried about you, Melony. You got sick earlier, now I replace you cuddled up with your best friend crying yourself to sleep. Are you okay? Did I do something?" All of a sudden, Theodore let down his wall he had up in our bond and I felt all of his worry and concern. I feel so guilty not being able to tell him the truth right now about the baby, but as long as everything goes to plan, I will be able to tell him no later than tomorrow night after the battle. I just have to get through the next 24 hours.

"I'm okay. Olive told me she was expecting a baby and it made us both super emotional. I am really happy for her and Todd." I could feel Theodore nodding yes.

"Todd mentioned it to me today. I am happy for them also." I wonder how he feels about them having kids right now. If it were him and I, would he be upset? Maybe I could get an idea of how he would feel about it once I told him. "Do you think it is too fast for them?"

Theodore took a minute before responding to me. I don't know if he was thinking about his answer or if his sleep was taking him over, but what he said took me by surprise. "I'm not sure, I think for every couple it is different. If they are happy, then I am happy for them. It's actually pretty common for werewolves to have kids soon after replaceing their mate. Plus, I am 28 and Todd is 27, so we are already past the age people usually have children. I'm glad we haven't had that happen yet with everything that is currently going on, but if you came and told me you were carrying my pup, I would honestly be thrilled. Nothing would make me happier than spending the rest of my life building a family with you."

I couldn't help it, I had to kiss him. I turned my head up and plastered my lips to his. Telling him with a kiss how grateful I am for his answer. He is the absolute love of my life. I can't wait to share this happiness with him.
