Her Destined Alpha -
Chapter 23
DELSANRA
He shouldn’t have come here, since morning, the women who have been coming in have been eyeing him up like he was a piece of meat. To begin with, l thought it was amusing because usually only women are perved at in this manner.
But after about the fifth woman, I’d had enough. It became irritating and the way he’d talk to them, take their orders, and flash them those sexy smiles of his. I didn’t miss some of the comments in passing as they asked him for his number, gave him theirs, or simply talked about him. Some women kept ordering things just so they wouldn’t have to leave, and it was just building up inside of me.
Now he was over there, I didn’t miss how that gorgeous blonde leaned closer to hi, whispering something suggestively, or the way Rayhan looked down at her, obviously paying attention to what she was saying. That was his type, the type of woman he deserved, not someone riddled with physical and mental scars. But why did I even care? It’s not like I wanted him.
My anger only grew when I saw the redhead place her claws on his arm. The searing pain ripped through my chest and my eyes burned as I glared at her hand.
”Move!” Rayhan shouted, dragging the two women out of their seats, pushing them away and pulling the blonde into his arms as he turned his back towards the glass that shattered behind him. He looked in my direction, his; grey eyes filled with concern and surprise.
I simply glared at him coldly, not missing how his arms shielded the stupid blond. I turned and walked out, not bothered about the chaos that ensued… It was only one window. No one was hurt. That’s what I told myself to hide the guilt and fear that was rushing through me. I had never lost control like that with my powers sealed… I could have hurt someone. I tried to ignore that thought.
This is why I needed to stay away from everyone. I entered the women’s bathroom, splashing my face with cold water. I stared into the mirror, my heart thumping. He saw… he knew it had been me. The image of his arms around the woman made that same blistering rage fill me one again, and I gasped when the mirror cracked. I backed away from it, looking at my distorted reflection.
This emotion I was feeling… what was it? I jumped as the bathroom door was pushed open. I spun around in fear to see none other than Rayhan, I didn’t miss the way he looked me over with concern on his face before his gaze flitted to the mirror behind me… ”Are you ok?
” He asked, entering the bathroom and shutting the door behind him. I turned away from him, not forgetting the scene from earlier, my chest heaving as I tried to control my emotions. My stomach sank when I realised what this feeling was – Jealousy.
My b***d ran cold at that realisation… I was jealous of other women talking to him, but I shouldn’t be… It’s not like he was mine. ”Delsanra….” He murmured softly, placing his hands gently on my shoulders. My heart thudding under his touch, I couldn’t deny the tingle that went through me. ”Go away.” I said, my l!ps trembling as I tried to control the anger. ”I’m dangerous, I wouldn’t come near me if I were you.”
I shrugged him off, moving closer to the sink again, not able to handle his closeness. ”You are not dangerous. Look at me.” He said. I ignored him until he turned me firmly and cupped my face with the same hands that had been wrapped around someone else moments earlier… Sending another sliver of irritation through me. ”I’m yours. Only yours.” His voice was soft but sincere. His words made me freeze.
How… How did he know that he was the cause of what happened? I pushed his hands off of me roughly. ”Don’t get so ahead of yourself, you were not the reason.” I lied, turning my back on him, gripping the sink basin.
He didn’t reply, stepping up behind me. I gasped when his hands went to my waist. ”There’s nothing wrong with feeling kitten.” He whispered angry, My heart was betraying me, I could feel the heat of his body behind me. My entire body was covered in goosebumps.
He leant down, burying his head in my neck, making my breath hitch. ”I liked it.” He whispered; my eyes widening in surprise. His hands ran across my stomach and waist, and I gasped when he pulled me into him.
My heart was going crazy, and the feeling of his body was making me dizzy. ”At least it means deep down there’s a part of you that wants me, and I will wait for it.” ”He wasn’t showing his usual c0cky self; he wasn’t looking down on me or mocking me. I could sense the genuine emotions in his voice, and when his l!ps touched my neck, sending a delicious spark through me, my eyes fluttered shut.
He placed a feathery k!ss there, making me sigh softly. The feel… I had never felt such a pleasant feeling and I leaned against him; his hand gripped my waist just below my br-east, his finger brushing the underside of my boob, so close yet so far…
I wanted more… My entire body was reacting to him as if he was a conductor and my body was the orchestra giving birth to a symphony of pleasure. His l!ps didn’t leave my neck as he placed another k!ss just above the last one.
My hand grabbed his, and my legs felt weak, but before I could lose myself completely, the cold reminder that he was a werewolf returned to me and I realised what I was doing. I pulled out of his arms suddenly and backed away from him, my chest heaving. ”Don’t. Don’t try to get close to me. I was meant to be alone, I have been alone all my life and I will always be alone…”
I turned and rushed to the door, unlocking it and exiting the bathroom. The rest of the day had gone by without a hitch, another long shift done. Luckily, no one had gotten hurt. The window had been boarded up and I had cleaned the glass up.
The girls had left slightly alarmed, but they had been well enough to thank Rayhan and to pass him their number, which I saw Rayhan toss in the bin. The place was now empty, and we were just cleaning up. Coleen was talking to Donovan and Rayhan.
I had avoided him as much as possible. My feelings had confused me, and I realised that if I couldn’t control myself, I might actually hurt someone… He ignited something strange inside me and the anger I had felt, it alarmed me.
And then here I was, trying to unseal my powers… But wouldn’t that also make me a threat? Maybe once I managed to, I needed to get my hands on some Grimoires and go somewhere isolated and live my life away from humans…
”Well, head out for the day! We’ve done great here tonight!” Coleen shouted, getting everyone’s attention. ”Ana, you’re getting a bonus for bringing your boyfriend to help!”
”He…” I didn’t bother correcting them. What good would it do? ”Hmm.” I said, I could feel his eyes on me, but I refused to look at him. ”Make sure you’re in the correct colours for tomorrow. It’s the boss’s daughter’s sweet 16 tomorrow, remember!”
Oh yeah, great… I was meant to get a red dress, because that was the theme. With everything going on I had forgotten. ”Well, go have fun for the rest of the night. You two can come in at 5 pm tomorrow.” Colleen finished.
”Sure, see you tomorrow…” I replied. I grabbed my jacket from the back, and although I wished he somehow wouldn’t be there when I stepped out, I was wrong. He was leaning against the wall near the entrance, on his phone.
He looked up instantly and gave me that small smirk of his, slipping his phone back into his pocket. He held the door open for me, and I didn’t miss Gwen’s saying something about being a true gentleman. If only she knew his truth… but I couldn’t deny he was different…
A sudden memory of my past returned with a vengeance as he held the door open, waiting for me to step out, and I shuddered. Ignoring the fact he was about to speak, I quickly hurried away, not waiting for him.
He had parked around the corner, and the moment he unlocked the doors, I got in quickly. I felt him watching me after he had closed the door and turned the ignition on, but he said nothing as he put on soft music and drove out. ”Want some coffee?” He asked after a moment. I didn’t reply. Last night I had left him hanging after the promise of coffee too….
”Delsanra?” I hated when he called my name. It felt like he was talking to me as an equal… and I knew I was abusing that, if it was anyone else, I’d be beaten by now…. but maybe that’s what I needed to see… To see the ugliness, he hid behind that face that was carved to perfection right down to that beauty spot on his cheek.
He didn’t push me again as we stopped at a drive-thru and bought two coffees and some donuts. ”Kitten?” Did he not understand silence? ”Kittycat?” Seriously? ”P*ssycat?” Urgh, he was so annoying. Shut up.. ”My little fiery snowflake?” Did he realise how fiery and snow didn’t even go together? ”Please grace me with your beautiful” voice, my elven princess.“
He really had stupid names… He sighed, and I saw from the periphery of my eye that he reached out to me before changing his mind and dropping his hand. It seemed he had finally gotten the hint. I looked ahead into the darkness as we headed to his place.
The cold outside, with the light splatter of rain and the loud howling of the wind, contrasted with the pleasant hum of the music and the steam from the coffee. The urge to reach for the cup was growing.
No, I am not going to be bought by bribery… I frowned, staring ahead, when suddenly I saw a white glow split in the sky. ”Watch out!” I shouted, but I didn’t need to; he had slammed his foot on the brakes.
One of his arms shot out and pinned me back in my seat as the car screeched to a stop.
The smell of burning rubber was strong, followed by a blast of glowing white lightning that was coming right towards us. Rayhan glanced outside before his eyes blazed green as he pulled me into his chest, wrapping his arms around my tiny frame, shielding me from the rain of shattered glass, His arms enveloped my entire body as if I was something precious that he wanted to protect….
The emotion I felt in my chest was… foreign. But before I could even relish the feel of his warmth around me, he let go, brushing a piece of glass from my hair. ”What the hell was that…” He murmured, dusting the glass from my legs gently before getting out of the car, I got out too.
In the headlights of the car, I saw the mark on the ground just in front of the car. My stomach sank as I realised what it was… Why were they so desperate to replace me? ”It’s a locating spell… They’re looking for me.” I said, quietly glancing up at the cloudy night sky.
”You mean they’re coming?” He asked. I nodded, making sure to keep my face passive, my heart clenching painfully. ”It’s a powerful spell, and as I’m hiding myself… it’s hard for them to locate me.
They will track this mark, it pinpoints me and is kind of like a loophole to the spell that I’ve used. Give it a week at most before they replace me… You should go, Rayhan… because when they do come, they won’t spare you.
”Our eyes met, and I knew that, despite everything, I didn’t want him to get hurt because of me. I owed him that much… ”Walk away, Rayhan. Go home.” I turned away, I needed to run… once again. But his next words made me freeze. ”I am home. Wherever you are, kitten, that’s my home.”
