Her Revenge Contract
Chapter 136

Katherine's POV

I never thought that Emma would still be here. Julia and the driver were supposed to get rid of her.

I gazed over the foyer, seeing things scattered all over.

Did Emma do that?

Did she deliberately make a mess?

Emm and Julia were confronting each other inside the foyer. Emma stood with one hand on her hip, and the other hand pointed straight at Julia's face.

I raised my eyebrows in disbelief and turned to look at the driver and Julia.

"Why hasn't she left yet?" I was surprised and angry.

"She doesn't want to go." Julia and the driver said it with a look of embarrassment.

When Emma saw me, she increased her tantrums and threw her body on the floor, shouting, kicking, and pounding her fist on the floor like an insane two-year-old throwing a temper tantrum.

"Wow," I said in disbelief, and that increased Emma's crying.

Julia hurried to try and get Emma off the floor, but Emma unexpectedly slapped Julia's hand away and took advantage of running through the foyer toward the gardens, crying heartbrokenly, pulling the attention of the pack members living around the residence.

The pack members quickly opened their side windows and stuck their heads out, listening to what the commotion was about.

Emma cried out and said between sobs, "You don't even care about the only family you have left. You are making decisions for me, and now you want to send me away."

I folded my arms around my chest and looked at Emma indifferently.

More and more pack members gathered around us as I stared at Emma.

Julia took matters into her own hands and hurried to Emma's side.

"Ms. Smit," she whispered, "let's go inside; it would be better for us to discuss your concerns inside your room. It's not good for you to let the pack members see it like this. They will make fun of you and not accept you in the pack." Hearing this, Emma looked around and saw the faces of the pack members standing around, looking a bit irritated at her for waking them.

"Do you really think you can afford not to listen?" Julia warned.

Emma got to her feet and rushed inside.

"Is everything okay, Julia?" Eder Richard asked.

"All is fine," Julia said, smiling. "Ms. Emma had a bit too much to drink. Sorry for waking you."

As soon as we were all inside, Julia sighed relievedly and pulled Emma toward the living room.

I sighed, seeing all the broken glass scattered on the floor. This was a bit ridiculous.

I quickly but carefully walked toward the sofa, sat down, and looked at Emma with bitterness in my heart.

"Are you done making a scene?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.

Emma nodded, seemingly looking tired, but I was looking through her.

Something about her still bothered me. I wasn't sure if it was because of John's blood that ran through her veins or if it was something else more sinister that lurked inside her, but I knew I couldn't trust her.

"Now, tell me exactly what you want from me. Is it money? That I gave you yesterday. Wasn't that enough?"

Emma stopped crying when she heard me speak. She walked to the table, got some tissues, and wiped her face, then calmly sat on the sofa.

"Speak," I growled darkly at her, or else I will remove you myself!"

"I want to join the company," she said, lifting her chin and looking me in the eyes.

She was serious.

"Now that my father is gone, I want to take care of the company in my father's name."

"I advise you to give up as soon as possible," I said, "This company has nothing to do with your father anymore, and even if you join the company now, you will be seen as an outcast because of what your father did, and everyone will treat you as a rat.' "I don't care," Emma said. "I have the right to fill my father's shoes. I am still his daughter!"

Emma didn't believe what I was telling her. She was adamant about joining the company, and she wasn't going to stop until she reached her goals.

I sighed, sat back, and rubbed my temples, thinking.

"Why not give her a chance?" Kia said.

I looked at Kia as if she had lost her mind, but that was until she explained her plan.

"Let her join the internship," she said, "that way it will give you time to learn who and what she is."

"And if she fails?" I asked.

"She is thrown out of the company," Kia said, laughing at herself.

After weighing my options, I slowly lifted my gaze. It was already late, and I wasn't going to ponder this subject any further.

"Okay," I said, hating the bloody idea but not having a choice anymore, "I will give you a chance to work at the company, but I have some conditions."

Emma's eyes lit up upon hearing my words.

"What conditions?" She asked eagerly.

"The conditions are very simple," I said seriously. "If you can pass the internship within one month, I will let you stay. But if you don't succeed, then you have no other choice but to go back to your pack." Emma released a relieved breath and smiled.

"And here I thought you were about to give me an impossible task," she said, smiling. "I accept the conditions."

"Then this is settled," I said. "You can come with me to work tomorrow."

Julia had cleaned my room nicely, but Emma's horrible perfume was still lingering in the air.

I threw the windows wide open, looking at the full moon.

"Mother Moon," I whispered, "why do you always send me something like this on my path?"

I swallowed hard against the lump forming in my throat.

"Why can't I just have a normal life, one with love, family, and kids? One where I don't need to look over my shoulder every second of the day?"

Kia walked out of the depths of my mind and took a seat.

"Mother Moon has a message for you," she said, looking at me.

"She says that she chose you because you are strong and smart, that you are her child, and she knows that you have the strength and power inside you to overcome everything that is standing in your way."

I sighed; it wasn't what I thought would be a message.

"Katherine King," Kia said and yapped at me, "the Moon goddess loves you more than anything in the world; she can't wait to have you by her side."

I closed the windows and got ready for bed, and just as I was about to go to sleep, Julia walked in with a cup of warm milk, looking a bit depressed.

"Julia," I stopped her as she retreated toward the door, "is there anything on your mind?"

Julia hesitated to speak.

"Luna," she sighed, and small tears built up in her eyes, "I don't understand why you would keep a hidden danger by your side. Emma's purpose is not pure; I'm afraid she will harm you."

A smile formed on my lips as Julia's words warmed my heart. She cares for me, and I don't give her much credit for that.

"Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer," I said to Julia.

Julia didn't gasp at the concept, and I quickly explained.

"Since I know that her purpose for being here is not pure, it would be easier to keep an eye on her while she works at King Group. I have a feeling that there are hidden people behind her who are instigating this cause of hers. I only agree to have Emma work at King's so that she can make unreasonable requests and cause trouble by replaceing the puppet master behind her.
