Chapter 23 Memories

New Zealand

Noon.

Elle walked out of the airport and she hopped into the car. After really convincing her daughter, Kierafinally agreed to let her mum go on the condition that she would be back soon.

Even if it was not possible, she just had to lie to her. She didn't even want Kiera to come to NewZealand at all. Even her speaking to Jason created some kind of weird fear in her mind.

Well, she had actually told Damien to go home straight cause she wanted to visit her dad's grave. Shehad no idea where her mum was buried and that was what was hurting her the most.

After a while, the car halted. Elle wore her long coat and then her sunglasses, then she covered herhair and mouth with a big shawl.

When she was sure her disguise was proper, she came down from the car with a bouquet of flowers.She walked to her Dad's grave which was not too far from where the car was parked.

When she got there, she knelt beside it and smiled out tears. It was really looking tattered. The grasseswere overgrown that it was now covering but nevertheless, Elle placed the flower on it.

"Hi dad.." She smiled.

"I'm sorry I didn't get to visit you earlier. It took me seven years to visit you and I'm really sorry aboutthat.

"I was building myself to avenge your death. You and mum's. Your death was very painful. I promise tomake the Madison's pay for it. They will regret all the evil things they've done, your deaths will never goin vain.." Elle said with a light smile.

"Dad, I have a daughter, your granddaughter and she's very pretty. I will bring her here to visit youwhen the time is right. But as for now, it's still dangerous…"

Elle stood up and dusted her hands.

"Dad, I have to go. I love you.." She said and then walked away.

As soon as she got into the car.

"Take me to the national amusement park.." She instructed her driver and the man immediatelyobeyed.

On her way there, her heart was filled with different thoughts but all she knew she had was theassurance that she was going to complete her revenge mission.

'Ma'am, we are here.." Her driver told her and she jolted out of her reverie.

Elle nodded and came out of the car. Her eyes scanned everywhere and the past memories beganrushing in her head.

Her parents always take her to the amusement park when they are free. She remembered all the funshe usually had. It was one of the most interesting moments in her life.

As she took closer steps, more memories began rushing to her head, this time, not of her parents butof him. Jason.

Tears were threatening to fall down her eyes as she recalled those beautiful moments. When they bothusually sneak out and go to the amusement park to while away time like they were kids.

As soon as she got to the ice cream joint. She smiled.

"Two cones of ice cream, please. Both should be strawberry flavours.." Elle said and then brought outsome notes before giving it to the ice cream vendor.

She smiled happily and turned back but then her smile faded when she saw him. The person she hadbeen thinking of, not too far away from her.

"Jason..' She called like a whisper. He was also staring at her and then he took his eyes away from her,then he began to walk towards her.

Elle's heart was beating fast as she remembered what Kiera did the day before.

"His eyes, the way they looked at me like I am a criminal. Has he perhaps found something about me?"

"But No! I made sure everything about me is hidden. So how come.."

"Your ice cream is melting already.." His voice said, bringing out of her thoughts.

"Huh?"

Jason sighed and then held her wrist. Then he pointed to the cones of ice cream that was alreadymelting.

"That.."

"Your ice cream is melting.." He added and she smiled.

"Oh! Thanks.." Elle said and immediately started licking the ice cream, her eyes were on him as she didso. He was still looking so handsome even if he was dressed casually. He was just wearing a plain shirtand a well penciled Jean trouser, his eyes fell on his forehead and some parts on his right eye makinghim look more dashing and his fragrance. It was so sweet!

"Are you done staring?" He asked and Elle looked away immediately.

"I wasn't staring. Get your facts right.." Elle said and turned to leave but he immediately grabbed herwrist and pulled her to him.

"Where did you think you are going?" He asked and Elle sighed.

"Jason, I.. "

"I will get another ice cream, strawberry flavour.." He said softly and released her hand.

"You seem to love them.." He told her.

"Someone special to me also loved them badly.." He added and Elle looked away. She was afraid hereyes would betray her.

"Come, let's get another one.." He said and then linked their hands together sending shivers down herspine.

"By the way, how's your little sister?" He asked and Elle froze again.
