"Are you sure he's able to have a finger in the pie?" Liam questioned coldly.

"It's said that he's quite resourceful. Otherwise, he wouldn't have gained a foothold in London.” Tedreplied.

"That's London, but this is City A," Liam asked with a sullen face.

Ted said no more.

Liam was born with confidence.

"Liam, not only does he steal your woman, but he also steals your business. Bad luck has beenpursuing you lately. You need to pray, my man." Ted joked.

"Are you taking pleasure in my misfortune?" Liam asked.

Ted explained, "I'm worried about you.”

"Really?"

"Of course,” Ted said with absolute certainty.

"You just have to worry about yourself," Liam said.

"Looks like you've already got a plan,” Ted said.

Hearing that, Liam gave a smile and said no more.

"How about having a drink tonight?"

"No, I have a dinner party tonight,” Liam replied.

"Well, let's do it another day.”

"Okay."

Liam hung up after the brief conversation was done.

Looking at the newspaper in front of him, Liam gave a confident smile.

At this moment, he picked up his cell phone and dialed a number.

"Hello, Mr. Miller, don't forget we're going to have dinner with the mayor tonight. I'll be there ontime!"

In the afternoon, when Abigail was taking a break in the tea room, Liam came in.

Abigail was slightly stunned to see him. "Are you making coffee yourself now, Mr. Jones?"

"My secretary is so busy. I want to ease her burden.” Liam said slowly.

Abigail wondered, "When have you become so considerate towards your employees, Mr. Jones?""Another jewelry company is going to emerge in City A soon, so of course, I have to be considerateto my employees, in case they leave.” Liam joked.

Now Abigail realized the real meaning behind it.

"If there's a healthy competition, then we employees will benefit from it," Abigail said with a slightsmile. Since Liam didn't want to put his cards on the table, why should she be frank?

"It seems that you already knew about it." Liam's gaze fell upon Abigail as he spoke.

Abigail paused for a moment before saying, "Just get to the point, Mr. Jones!"

Hearing Abigail's words, Liam took a step forward without hesitation. "You knew about it already, didn't you?"

"What do you mean?"

"That Leo is going to open up a branch here.” Staring at her, Liam said word by word.

Abigail looked up at Liam, her eyes calm. "Would you believe me if I said I learned this news thismorning too?"

Liam stared at her for a long time before replying, "I would.”

For some reason, this woman had lied to him countless times, but he still believed her.

Especially now.

His confidence in her was beyond words.

Abigail was stunned to hear Liam's answer. Apparently, what he said was nothing like what she hadexpected.

"I did learn the news this morning.”

"Is he doing that for you?" Liam asked.

"What?"

Liam glanced at Abigail and narrowed his eyes slightly...
