Chapter 333
Most of the students fell silent, their gazes toward Lea turning complex and unfriendly. The atmosphere in the classroom also became tense.
They were jealous.
Jealousy clouded their reason, and the cleverly crafted words of Beatrice and her group made them believe the story of Lea’s
success.
They were the cream of the crop, who had made it to Conrad University. Yet, in such a short time, Lea had achieved immense fame and astonishing wealth, something most of them could never dream of in their lifetime.
If it were through genuine talent, they might accept it, but they thought Lea had used underhanded methods.
Therefore, the classroom was filled with a thick sense of hatred.
Someone couldn’t help but shout at Lea, “Yeah, Lea, why don’t you teach us how to get famous and rich!”
The other said, “We won’t let you teach us for free. We’ll pay you tuition.”
“Of course, the tuition won’t be cheap; we won’t shortchange you,” One girl said.
Everyone spoke one after another, mocking Lea sarcastically.
Lea, who was focused on copying notes, had become the target of their scorn.
If looks could kill, she would have been destroyed.
Someone like Lea shouldn’t exist in this group of students as she had caused the group to lose its balance.
As sensitive as she was, she felt the hostility and could not help but clench the pen in her hand.
She didn’t like the atmosphere. If those people were strong enough, they would tear her to pieces.
Shannon and the others were anxious and angry.
They didn’t understand why Lea become such a figure of hatred in everyone’s eyes all of a suddden. It wasn’t a good thing that everyone treated her as a mortal enemy.
“Lea, you need to explain to them,” Willow urged, grabbing Lea’s arm.
Shannon nodded vigorously.
The truth was far from that. No one wanted to be in the news for media hype. However, every time Lea made headlines, it was a hard battle for her, the hospital’s executives, and the hospital itself.
Besides, Lea wasn’t as rich as Beatrice claimed. In fact, she lived frugally and even sold her birthday gifts to fund the hospital.
She didn’t start her business for fame and money. the hospital saved lives, and the new medicine she had developed benefited society.
Regardless, her classmates ignored that and slandered her.
Steve also looked at Lea with a sense of justice surging in his heart. If Lea did not get up and defend herself, he would.
Lea shook her head at Willow, then looked at Alice on the podium. “Class is starting.”

These people could not hurt her at all. So Lea did not want to waste her energy on them. Besides, they were so upset at the moment that they wouldn’t believe a word she said.
However, Lea had expected that Alice would be back on that podium.
The people behind it managed to handle things so neatly. Even with pressure from Alex, no clues were pointing to the mastermind. They were indeed very powerful.
However, Lea could not accept it when she saw everything with her own eyes.
Alice had taken off her coat and folded it beside her. Underneath, she was wearing a soft white knitted dress, giving off a refined and scholarly vibe that appealed to the female students and was simply irresistible to the male students.
She undoubtedly had a profound understanding of the human mind, and it showed in all those details. Otherwise, she would have been driven out of the classroom as soon as she entered.
She was looking at Alice, and Alice was also looking at her.
Lea was wearing a black high–neck T–shirt with her hair tied in a mid–length ponytail. Her exquisite face with impeccable skin glowed, and her clear, deep eyes gave her the perfect look of an innocent college student.
Yet, her eyes conveyed a power that seemed to press down Alice.
Lea bore a grudge against her, still resenting the hypnotism incident.
Alice took a deep breath and raised her chin.
Entering the classroom again and standing at this podium was something she had achieved by sacrificing Nathaniel’s life and betraying the Reed family. She had to protect this position so she could have a place in the upper–class circle of Iverton. Only then could she preserve her reputation and wealth.
She had heard the students‘ clamor and discussion from the moment she entered the classroom.
Lea already had enemies in the class, and her overwhelming presence had now made her a common target, which worked in Alice’s favor.
“Class… class is starting!” Alice had to muster strength and courage to say this, trying hard to control her vocal cords, but her voice still trembled.
Her palms were covered in cold sweat.
Everyone fell silent. All eyes were on her, filled with disapproval and disdain.
No matter what everyone thought of Lea, Alice was no longer qualified to teach them.
The students were all geniuses, studying the most advanced and best knowledge, and true skills.
Someone stood up, confronting her with a firm attitude: “Ms. Reed, you said you used psychological knowledge to explore Lea’s inner self and dig out the truth in her subconscious. Can you explain that to us?”
Another student said, “Yeah, yeah, we’re not interested in learning those cheap tricks and gimmicks.”
“Ms. Reed, quickly explain it!” A male student shouted.
“Explain it!” Almost the entire class was loudly demanding an explanation from Alice.
If she couldn’t provide a satisfactory answer, she would be driven out immediately.
Alice clenched her fists even tighter. Her entire body was drenched in cold sweat, and her face was pale.

She looked at everyone, then at Lea, realizing she had no other choice.
Then, Alice raised her hand to signal for silence. Everyone quieted down and waited for her answer.

She stepped out from behind the podium with her hands clenched tightly. Her expression was sorrowful and pitiful. “Due to my profession, I was hired to do that to Lea. I… I’m indeed very sorry for being involved in it. I’m here to apologize to the school and everyone.
As Alice spoke, she bowed deeply to everyone, showing sincere regret.
The tension in the classroom thus eased a lot.
Lea puckered her brows, impressed by the cunning display. With just a few words, Alice had absolved herself, portraying herself as merely a hired hand who had been used.
Alice said, “When I took on this job, the organization had high–level clearance. I was only informed about my duties and did not know about the rest.”
At this point, her eyes turned red and filled with tears.
She wiped the corner of her eye and looked extremely pitiful, presenting herself as an innocent victim controlled by the organization.
“As for how Miss Berry was able to outmaneuver my hypnosis?” Alice’s gaze turned to Lea.
“Well… Miss Berry is truly exceptional. In all the prestigious schools I’ve taught, I’ve never met someone as intelligent and mentally strong as her,” remarked Alice.
