Chapter 25

Hailey's POV

I was in the kitchen making breakfast for him. I prepared a little list of things that he likes, I mean I can't be making the same favorite food every day after all!

I made something from the list and then served him. He saw it and smiled.

I started going back but he stopped me.

"Hailey," he said. "Come & eat"

I was a little shocked. But went there anyway. I sat beside him, or else I would have to get up and come afterward, so why not do it beforehand.

He smiled at me and then we started eating. The food was good, and this time, eating breakfast with him didn't 'hurt.

It was rather a comfortable breakfast. He even said that it was good. Come to think of it, he isn't so bad. He just needs someone.

We went to the office after that. I went with him in his car.

"All of them?" Mr. Spencer asked surprised.

"Yes, sir we accept all the conditions" I replied.

"Well, Mr. Hunter didn't accept them, so I guess" he smiled, "This project goes to you!"

A smile spread across his lips as he got his dream deal. "Thank you," he said.

But Mr. Spencer didn't reply and went from there. I turned to Robert and then he said.

"I said, thank you"

What?

TO ME?

"uh... w-welcome"

He smirked and then we left the office.

He took me to his car. "Let's take the day off"

"Ah... Robert" I said. He looked at me. "You said that you'll spend time with me... so let's go where I want to take you"

"Okay, drive," he said. I smiled and took the driver's seat.

"Just don't kill me," he said.

"Oh, I know driving"

"I doubt"

"You're strange"

"I know"

"What?"

"Don't talk, drive"

"Okay," I said.

So, he is capable of some simple and casual talks too?

Never imagined.

'Oh, you don't know what he is capable of at all' my inner conscience mocked.

We stopped by the hill. It was a good location. Here is a place, where we can sit and have lunch, and in the evening, we can see the sunset beautifully between the hills. "Why are we here? You want to suicide?" he asked.

"Can you keep your mind off all this suicide and killing thing?" I asked.

He smirked. "Bear with me"

"Oh, trust me, I already am"

"Anyways, why are we here?"

"Lunch!" I said. He looked at me confused and then I showed him the table I have arranged there.

Not practically me, I just made the food. Cane, Ron, and their men have done this.

"You brought me all the way here for this?" he raised his eyebrow.

"Yes. Now let's eat"

"We have a big dining room at our house"

"Eat, please"

"Whatever," he said and I smiled.

He can be good too, it means.

Like he is right now.

So calm, and understanding.

He sat on the chair beside the table and I did too. The food was served beautifully across the table. We started eating and it was good.

It was almost evening, I waited for the sun to set.

"Why. Are. We. Still. Here?" he asked again.

"J-Just some more time"

He is a little angry about this right now. Because we completed our lunch an hour ago, and it took me everything to stop him here. The sun started to set.

"Look at the sun," I said. He shifted his gaze from his mobile to the sun.

We calmly watch the sun until it was completely set.

"Wow. Never thought a simple sunset that happens every day can be this beautiful" I heard him saying.

"I know right! You like it?" I asked.

"Yes," he said. I smiled at my victory.

This is the start, the very start.

I was happy and he was too. Then I asked him to follow me somewhere else.

This was all just a trailer. The real thing that I prepared is near the lake.

"Where are we going?" he asked me.

"Wait," I said.

He sighed. He has changed... and I am loving it.

We soon reached a lake and I looked towards him..

But I was taken aback. He was angry, and his jaws were clenched. He was controlling his anger by clenching his fists.

"R-Robert...?" I asked.

"Let's go back," he said silently.

"Listen, Ro-"

"I SAID WE HAVE TO GO RIGHT NOW, F**K HAILEY, LISTEN TO ME!!" he yelled. I flinched at his sudden rise in tone. I nodded with a trembling body and then started moving towards the car. Everything ruined.

I prepared so much near that lake.

I have decorated an entire area... using so much time and strength. But he didn't even see it. Instead, he yelled at me.

What else did you expect, Hailey?

Of course, nothing can go right.

"I will go back to work tomorrow" I heard him saying as we sat in the car. "I want you to come too and concentrate on your work and don't create any disturbance because in no hell I am giving you any other chance" "B-But what h-happened?" I asked him.

Come on, I have every right what was my mistake.

"SHUT UP!" he yelled. I closed my eyes and a tear rolled down my eyes.

He is a hopeless case, Hailey.

And so is your life.

Robert's POV

The day started well. I was happy because she made me my favorite breakfast. I guess that everyone is not bad and selfish, some good people exist too.

I praised the food and then took her to my office.

After I received the deal, I was hell happy. It was possible because of Hailey. I thanked her, but maybe she didn't think it was for her, so I repeated it.

She was nervous and I like that nervousness of her around me.

I wanted to kiss her. But I know if I do, I will hurt her. And I don't wanna hurt her for doing something good to me.

After that, I was going home, but she reminded me that she has to take me somewhere.

I had a small talk with her. It was relaxing.

I reached a hillside. It was beautiful, but I thought that coming all the way here just for lunch, was nuts.

But not when I saw the sunset.

It was so beautiful.

Then I was happier and wanted to give us a chance. I started thinking that maybe we two can be together and can start a new life.

But then she took me to the lake.

The same lake.

Where everything happened.

I was so damn angry, but I thought to not scream at her, it was not her fault.

But no.

She always becomes stubborn at the wrong times.

Sitting in the car, I became more frustrated by myself as I saw her crying.

Knowing that if I stay with her, I will only hurt her, I decided to stop having any stupid thoughts. I blocked all thoughts and told her that there is just NO chance. It is true.

Healer and Hurter can't be together.
