Hidden in Plain Sight (Working title) -
Chapter 13: Willow
"Midnight!" Willow screeched. She shot fown to grab Midnight but Midnight was falling too fast. Willow beat her wings harder and ignored a sharp pain peirce her legs. Adrenaline. Where was adrenaline when she needed it?
She beat her wings even harder and felt the wind ruch past her. She shot beneath midnight and Midnight landed on top of her. Willow was able to slow the fall but the two still hit the ground hard.
"Willow! Midnight!" Riley yelled. Riley shot down to the ground. She landed in a run and slowed down her pace. She sat down by Midnight and began healing her. "Are you hurt, Willow?"
"No, but we have to get out of here!" Willow replied. She grabbed Midnight in the middle of her healing and lifted her into the air with ease. Oh, so now she had adrenaline...
Willow flapped her wings hard as she pulled Midnight with her into the sky. She felt several times the pain that shot up her legs. It was an instant pain. She didn't know what the humans used but whatever it was as soon as they shot it at them immediately pain would occur.
Riley flew up behind her, followed by Audrie and Avery. Soon, the group was far from the sanctuary and the humans. They landed in a redwood forest where Willow healed Midnight.
"Will she be ok?" Riley asked.
"She'll be fine," Matt replied.
Willow didn't say a word. She was caught up in her thoughts.
She was out of the sanctuary now. And finally, she was free.
(Short chapter because it's the last chapter. I usually make short last chapters. I would've made the book longer but this is as long as it needs to be. Tell me if you want a book two but for now it's just one book!)
