His Alpha Female -
Chapter 17
DRYSTAN
I glanced at the girl beside me and a smile made its way to my face, I didn't expect her to be this confident and ferocious in front of a thousand buff and scary-looking soldiers, but to my surprise that's all she has been since the training started. I expected her to be nervous and shaky since it was her first day, and yeah, she did have a moment of weakness but that passed by so quickly like it never happened.
The soldiers felt the confidence radiating from her, and none of them dared step out of line. She dished out orders in a strict and firm voice, never wavering even once and I swear the soldiers look like they'd never gone through so much pain and pressure in their entire years of training.
I felt slightly intimated by the way she was handling them, but the other part of me was incredibly proud of her.
"And to think that a while ago, you swore you didn't want her beside you," Erasmus said and I rolled my eyes at him.
"I didn't know she could handle herself this well, I simply didn't want to be responsible for her throughout training hours" I replied immediately, putting my defence up.
"300 push-ups now! Last to stand runs a hundred miles" I ordered and immediately turned towards Selene, who had an equally shocked look on her face. Why? Because we both just synched in our order.
"Aww..couple goals" Lukianos gushed out all of a sudden and I sighed deeply, not bothering to grace him with a reply, and got down on a plank position to do the push-ups as well.
I was still in my first push-up when a pair of black Nike canvas appeared in front of me, and without even thinking twice I looked up to the familiar face that was smiling at me "Hii!" She mumbled, waving her hand a little when we made eye contact.
A small smile appeared on my face at her cuteness and I immediately stood upright "Hi! What's up?" I asked and she just shrugged her shoulders, the smile still tugging on her lips.
We both fell into a comfortable silence after that, and our eyes rested on the soldiers that were currently doing their push-ups "Training here is fun" Selene said all of a sudden, and I turned towards her with raised eyebrows.
"Really?" I asked even tho I already knew the answer to that.
"So you love hearing her talk, huh?" Lukianos piped in all of a sudden and I internally rolled my eyes at him.
"Yeah, the soldiers are so efficient and quick to obey orders. Do you know the best part? They take corrections so easily and fastly that I don't have to spend all my time pointing out mistakes and correcting them" she explained in one breath, her eyes glistening with so much excitement.
I didn't know the next thing to say or ask to show interest in her experience, all thanks to the fact that I never bothered myself with normal Werewolf interactions before, why? Well, because I didn't have to accept the fact that I'll be spending the rest of my life with
someone.
After a few seconds of just staring at her wordlessly, I managed to think of a question "The soldiers back at your pack weren't this good?" I asked in hopes that she wouldn't take offence to that, and to my greatest relief, she just smiled and nodded. "They are excellent soldiers, but it takes a lot of effort and time to train them to become that good," she said and a deep sigh left her lips.
I glanced at her and turned back to the soldiers, "well, I'm glad you're having fun and training soldiers that match your skills" I complimented her genuinely and I felt a slight nudge on my sides. I turned towards her in surprise and met her grinning widely "what?" I mouthed to her.
"You're quite a softie!" She exclaimed and I glared at her, but she wasn't even a bit faxed and carried on talking "I knew it from the moment you helped me up during our engagement party, had my doubts a few times due to your assholish ways but you are a softie!" She exclaimed as if she just cracked the world's most difficult puzzle.
"Shut up!" I retorted weakly and turned away from her, but I could still see her grinning from my side-eye.
The soldiers that were doing their push-ups before have drastically reduced; most of them were standing already, while a few of them were still down and exercising. I was still in my head calculating the amount of time the others that were still exercising will take when I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my head and the presence of my wolves began disappearing.

I was still in my head calculating the amount of time the others that were still exercising will take when I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my head and the presence of my wolves began disappearing.
My body immediately went stiff when I realized what was happening, and my eyes slowly darted towards Selene who was looking at the soldiers, totally clueless about my current situation. I tried to draw her attention and come up with something to make her walk away, but my voice felt too tight to voice out anything.
Sweat began forming on my forehead as I tried my best to fight the blankness that my brain was going into. The memories of what happened the last time I gave in to the darkness rushed through my mind, and my desperation to fight it got even worse "please, if you guys are in there.. help" I pleaded desperately to my wolves, but none of them answered.
I was growing incredibly tired and way stiffer with each passing second, the world was slowly fading away from my eyes and I desperately tried to hold on to the little thread of light that was keeping me from falling into an abyss of darkness.
"Are you okay?" Selene asked and I could sense the concern in her voice, but I couldn't bring myself to reply. I heard the shuffling of her feet so close to my ear yet so far away.
A sharp hiss of pain left my body when I felt her hand on my skin, and I can swear I heard her gasp at the contact. "It burns" I yelled desperately in my head, hoping she would hear me and take her hands away from my skin, but then she placed her other hand on my body, and this time I heard her gasp audibly "you're sweating, are you okay?" I heard her ask, but her voice was slowly fading into the background as the burning sensation from her hands engulfed me, and I groaned loudly before giving in to the darkness, again.
