Chapter 288 Assessing The Combat Power Of Their Opponents.

Lysander immediately looked up at Adrian.

I know nothing. Is he really confident enough to take on both Josiah and Lysanne by himself?

Josiah seemed to share the same doubt. He coldly scrutinized Adrian, much like a predator assessing its rival’s strength.

Adrian didn’t show any particular reaction. He just stood there, openly inviting his scrutiny.

“Oh my. Lysanne, are you okay?” Yvonne suddenly exclaimed, rushing to Lysanne’s side and supporting her.

Lysanne’s face was pale, weakly leaning against Yvonne as she shook her head slightly. “I-I’m fine.”

Adrian glanced at the weak Lysanne and suggested, “Maybe we should call it off. Mr. Guerra, you should take Mrs. Guerra to the hospital first. She doesn’t seem well, and it doesn’t look like an act.”

Josiah furrowed his brow. “What’s wrong?”

Lysanne slowly opened her blurry eyes. Tears glistened in her slightly reddened eyes. “I-I’m really fine. We’re supposed to play, right? I can do it.”

She swayed, steadying herself against the pool table. “Dr. Thorne, let’s play a game, okay?”

Lysander’s opinion aligned with Adrian’s.

Lysanne didn’t seem to be acting. Her acting skills weren’t that good.

She responded, “We can play another day. I have something to attend to. You guys should go to the hospital.”

“Don’t leave!” Lysanne almost lunged, grabbing her. “Dr. Thorne, please, just play with us.”

Daphne intervened immediately, “What are you doing? Faking an accident? Get up! Your husband is right there. Don’t cling to others.”

After hearing this, Lysanne smiled desolately, “I… I don’t have a husband.”

“Lyss, I won’t allow you to say that!” Yvonne spoke up fiercely. “It was all a misunderstanding before, and I’ve explained it all for you. You and Josiah are engaged. Even if he’s not your husband now, he will be in the future!”

The last sentence wasn’t directed at Lysanne but at Lysander.

It was deliberately said for her to hear.

Just now, Lysanne had been sabotaged by this stupid friend. She didn’t look too pleased now. “Enough, Yvie. Stop talking. I’ll decide for myself.”

“Fine”

Yvonne pouted. visibly upset. “You don’t appreciate my kindness. so go ahead and do as vou

wish. I’m leaving.”

As Yvonne turned to leave, Lysander clearly saw both Lysanne and Aiden heave sighs of relief..

“Hey!” Yvonne called out halfway, then turned back. Though she didn’t name names, everyone knew she was addressing Lysander. “Please be more loyal. Don’t be fickle and ruin other people’s relationships.”

Aiden hastily bowed from a distance away. He nearly fell to his knees to beg her to leave without looking back.

Once Yvonne was gone, Daphne immediately took a deep breath. “Suddenly, the IQ level in the air hast increased significantly. Adrian, your taste is impressive.”

Adrian could only chuckle expressionlessly. “Everyone was once young and foolish, right? You were no different back then…”

Lysander coughed heavily twice, and Adrian immediately stopped himself.

Breaking the stalemate was Adrian, who pondered for a moment before asking, “Ms. Lysanne, are you sure you don’t need to go to the hospital now?”

Instead of looking at him, Lysanne gazed at Lysander and pleaded with a slightly submissive gaze, “I’m sure. Please, Dr. Thorne, stay and play a game with us”
