Chapter 306 Are You Threatening Me Again

“If so, I must admit that I don’t quite understand men, Lysander said.

“It’s only natural since you lack experience,” Josiah replied.

“True. When I go abroad this time, I’m also planning to gain more experience.”

Josiah’s expression changed. “Lysander, the more you provoke me with such words, the more it proves. you still can’t forget me.”

“Mr. Guerra, gold is indeed valuable, but it’s not necessarily to everyone’s liking.”

Josiah paused momentarily, then let out a somewhat helpless sigh. “Lysander, I’m at a loss on how to treat you now. Gentle persuasion doesn’t work on you, yet I can’t bring myself to use force. Can your propose one condition straight away? If I can meet it, let’s start over.”

“There are no conditions because it’s impossible.”

“There will always be a condition.” Josiah tapped his finger against the divorce agreement belonging to Harry. “This is still with me. Whether it’s to be submitted to the city hall or tossed into the shredder is. your call.”

Lysander was somewhat livid. “Are you threatening me again?”

“I don’t want to do this either. But I’m left with no choice. This method might be crude and straightforward, but it works.”

“Did you ever consider that Priscilla and I have no familial ties? I can easily ignore this matte for the court hearing and the verdict.”

“Of course, you can do so. Then, I can also have Lora cut things off immediately and leave fo said Josiah.

Infuriated, Lysander shot to her feet. “How dare you!”

“All right, don’t be upset. Sit down first.” Josiah took her hand and tugged her back down. “It’s not

that I get to see you. Can we talk nicely?”

Lysander turned her face away, refusing to cooperate.

Holding her hand gently in his own, Josiah toyed with it lightly. “You know exactly what I meant. Since you want to be an expatriate, I won’t stop you. It’s your career, and I won’t interfere.”

“So, what exactly did you come to say today?”

“Give me a chance. Don’t reject me outright.”

Lysander inerely chuckled softly.

“I’ve known this for a while now. There’s no need to repeat it.”

Josiah paused for a moment. Then, he continued, “Something happened when we were kids. Her mother also did a great favor to the Guerra family. I will look after her, but I won’t allow her to interfere in my life anymore. Never.”

“What if she insists on interfering? Even if she doesn’t do it like before but uses a different strategy of playing the victim and putting on the waterworks, what would you do?” Lysander asked.

“Why should I be concerned about her being a victim when I’m no hero? I only promised Mrs. Thorne that I would take care of her in her later years. She still has to live her own life. I won’t bother about the rest anymore,” Josiah stated.

Lysander’s brows furrowed slightly. “Mrs. Thorne?”

“She’s Lysanne’s mother. Her family name is actually Anderson, but I’ve always addressed her as Mrs. Thorne since childhood and continued doing so later”

Lysander took a deep breath before asking, “So, you’re only looking after Lysanne now out of gratitude?”

“Yes. To me, she is now just Mrs. Thorne’s daughter, nothing more.”

“What if Mrs. Thorne has other children, then?”

“My answer remains the same. I’m only regard it as repaying a favor. The rest is none of my business.”

Lysander went silent.

“Lysander, what did you mean by that?”

“Nothing,” Lysander fibbed. “Get Priscilla’s divorce certificate sorted out as soon as possible. It’s better to settle this matter quickly. Once Harry realizes he’s been fooled, he’s bound to blow up for a while.”

Josiah gave a slight nod. “All right. Then, I’ll take it that you agreed to my condition.”
