His Christmas List: – Naughty Stories For Your Stocking -
His Christmas List: YOU WISH: Chapter 7
“Your next appointment is here.”
“Sure thing.” I make my way out to the reception area and stop dead in my tracks.
Emma and her dog are in the waiting area.
She gives me a soft smile, and I instantly feel my hackles rise.
What does she want?
“Hello,” I say.
“Hello.” She stands.
“You have an appointment?”
“Yes.”
“This way.” I turn and walk back into my office as she follows. I pick up Trevor and put him up on the table. “What seems to be the problem?”
“There’s no problem,” Emma replies. “I wanted to see you.”
My stomach flips. I hate that she affects me.
“What about?” I act unruffled.
“About Aspen.”
“Let’s just leave Aspen in Aspen, hey?”
“I thought you had a girlfriend.”
“So you said.”
“And…” She swallows the lump in her throat. “I liked you and I was disappointed and I just couldn’t deal with a fight that weekend, and I ran.”
I nod as my eyes hold hers.
“I regret it, and… I’m sorry.”
I nod, unsure what to say.
“I’m not, ”she shrugs as if searching for the right words, “always okay.”
My heart sinks.
“I have trouble trusting people, and I know it doesn’t matter anymore, but… I just wanted you to know that giving you the wrong number wasn’t okay.”
“It wasn’t.”
We stare at each other, and the pull I feel to her is primal.
She’s everything I don’t need, and yet I’ve done nothing but think about her for three whole months.
“For what it’s worth, I liked you too,” I reply. “A lot.”
Her eyes well with tears.
“But it doesn’t matter now. I leave tomorrow.”
“Leave?” She frowns. “For where?”
“I’m moving home to Sonora.”
“Why?”
“Because there’s nothing here for me, and I want to be near my family.”
She nods as if processing. “Well, good luck.” She forces a smile. “It was nice meeting you.”
We stare at each other, and I don’t know if she can feel this magnetic pull or if it’s just me.
“Don’t you have something else to ask me?” I reply.
“Like what?”
“Like how you want to take me out to dinner tonight to apologize.”
A trace of a smile crosses her face. “You wish.”
“I do, actually.”
“Aaron, do you want to go out to dinner tonight?”
“Hmm.” I scrunch up my nose. “I don’t know, I’m very busy.”
“Careful.” She widens her eyes. “You get one chance.”
“You get one chance,” I fire back.
“So… dinner.”
“Yes.”
“You’ll call me?”
“I don’t know if I have the right number,” I tease.
“That’s getting very old.”
We smirk at each other as the air crackles between us.
“But don’t get your hopes up, I am not putting out tonight,” I warn her. “My cock is under lock and key now that I’m moving.”
“Good to know.” She rocks up onto her toes. “The goat cock should be locked up at Sonora for the safety of others.”
“Go away before I kiss you.”
“Okay.” She walks toward the door and then turns back. “Tonight.” She leaves and closes the door behind me.
Tonight… the word hangs in the air like a promise.
“Tonight.”
Emma
I pace in my kitchen. Back and forth. Back and forth. Aaron is due here any minute, and I can’t contain my nerves.
Knock, knock.
I nearly run to the door and I open it in a rush, and there he stands.
6 foot 2 of gorgeous man. He’s wearing my favorite black jeans and a T-shirt. His hair is tousled, and that aftershave instantly takes me back to Aspen.
“You look average,” I whisper.
“Yeah, well”—he steps forward and pushes me back into the house—“you look fuckable.”
I wake to the feeling of strong hands holding my inner thighs apart. Aaron’s head is between my legs, and his thick tongue swipes through my sex. My head throws back as my hands twist his hair. My body is pumping with arousal, so I know that he’s been at it for a while.
My God, this is the best wake up of all time.
Limbs twisted, with my head on his chest and his lips on my temple.
Waking up in Aaron’s arms is the best feeling in the world.
Last night was incredible.
His finger trails up my arm as if he’s deep in thought. “I want you to come to Sonora for the holidays.”
I sit up to look at him. “What?”
“Come for a week… or two.” He shrugs.
I blink in confusion. “I don’t know anyone.”
“You know me. My family is huge, and we have about eighty people there for Christmas. You and Trevor come down and you’ll fit right in.”
“I can’t crash on your family at Christmas, and besides, last night was our last together.”
“What do you mean?” He frowns.
“Well, you are moving and I am staying here.”
“What are you talking about?” He dives out of bed. “What the hell does that mean?”
“Aaron, I don’t want to have a casual hookup arrangement.”
“Neither do I.”
“So what are you saying?”
He puts his hands on his hips as if outraged. “I’m saying I want to give us a try. That’s what I’m saying.”
“You are moving away.”
He stares at me for a beat. “Come with me.”
“What?” I screw up my face. “We don’t even know each other.”
“I know I want to know more.”
“Aaron…”
“We can live separately while we get to know each other better.” He paces as if thinking about this right now for the first time. “And then, once we—”
“Stop.” I cut him off. “You are being insane. We have known each other for exactly four days.”
“The best four days of my life.” He takes me into his arms. “Come with me, Em. You have nothing holding you here.”
My eyes search his. “My job.”
“Is just a job, and I have a family big enough for the two of us.” He kisses me softly. “We can’t not explore this. We are too good together, and you and I have nothing in LA.”
I pull out of his arms. “I just…”
“You what?”
“I need some time to think about this.”
His eyes hold mine.
“Moving away is a big decision.”
“Okay.” He nods. “Will you at least come for Christmas?”
“I can’t, I already have plans.”
Feeling sorry for myself all day long.
“Fine.” He pulls his jeans on and his T-shirt over his head.
“You’re leaving?”
“Yes.”
“Can’t you stay for breakfast?”
He gives me a sad smile and kisses me softly. “There’s no point dragging this out, Em. We both know that the moment I leave, you will check out and that will be the end of us.”
My heart sinks. I feel seen.
“Let’s just call it quits now and be done with it.” He continues to walk around my bedroom and collect his things.
I nod through the lump in my throat. “Probably for the best.” I follow him to the door and he turns and takes my face into his hands and kisses me softly.
“Goodbye, Emma,” he murmurs against my lips. “We could have been great together.” He kisses me again. “We already were.”
My nostrils flare. “Goodbye, Aaron.”
I watch him walk to his car.
Don’t go…
But it doesn’t matter, he does anyway.
