His Curvy Mate
Chapter 4

This had to be the strangest night of her life. Willa stared out across the horizon and believed everything Xander said. She didn’t know how that was possible. She also didn’t know how she could be feeling so relaxed in his company. Whenever he wasn’t touching her, the insecurity and worry came back quickly.

“So you can fight off wolves?” she asked, raising a brow.

“A whole pack of them.”

She giggled. “I don’t know if there’s a whole pack of them. It could be just one.”

“Have you ever seen a real wolf?”

“Only on television.” She sighed. “I think it’s time for me to be heading back. I have an early tutoring session with your son tomorrow.”

Not that Tyson was interested.

He was never forthcoming. Most of the time, she didn’t think what she taught him actually sank in.

“Or you could … come back to my hotel with me.”

Willa j*rked back. “I don’t think that’s appropriate.”

She could get fired. He was the dad of one of her students. This had been nice, more than nice, but this was as far as she was willing to go so soon.

“Did you not enjoy my company tonight?”

“It’s not that, it’s just, there are rules.”

Xander stepped closer to her, and she gasped as she moved back, but the side of the car stopped her from going anywhere else.

His hands were pressed on the top of the car, caging her in. His body was lithe and powerful.

She wasn’t afraid. If anything, his domination turned her on.

For some odd reason, she had a feeling Xander would never hurt her. This took her by surprise. Why did she feel this way? She had never met him before in her life.

“You know, some rules are supposed to be broken.”

“I could lose everything if they found out. It would be the talk of the campus.” Why was she even considering this?

“I pay the school a lot of money to deal with my son, Willa. If you’re the woman I want to help him, then they can’t get rid of you. Besides, they don’t have to know, not yet.” He lowered his arm and placed it on her h!p.

Her heart raced.

She didn’t know how it was possible, but he got closer to her. His body was flush against hers, and she felt every inch of him. The man was tall, his frame strong and impossibly hard.

“You have no idea how this feels for me,” he said. He pressed his face against her neck, breathing her in. She could feel his rough stubble against her skin.

“You smell so f*****g good. I’ve heard the rumors, but I never realized how it would be to replace the right one. My mate.”

She’d noticed that he kept referring to boyfriends as mates. Why did he say it like that?

Willa closed her eyes as his l!ps traced across her neck, settling on her pulse. Did he just lick her neck?

A m0an escaped her l!ps, her body flooded with liquid need.

She couldn’t think of any other way to describe it. An overwhelming flood of wanton energy consumed her. Willa wanted him to claim her, to own her. She wanted him to make her feel every kind of elicit pleasure.

He stroked the curve of her h*p and then moved back around toward her as*s.

“F**k me, you’re perfect all over. I don’t know how this is possible, but you’re sensational.”

No one had ever called her this before. She’d been called a lot of names throughout her life, but never perfect or sensational.

Staring into his eyes, she believed him as well. He made her feel desirable and beautiful—but she wasn’t.

This was moving way too fast.

His l!ps were coming ever closer.

“I think it’s time for you to take me home,” she said.

“Willa?”

“Please. I don’t know what game you’re playing, but I don’t want to be part of it.” She wanted to cringe, but she clenched her hands into fists instead. That seemed to be the easiest option.

This man was confusing her.

What if it was a trick? It had to be some big joke.

A mean ploy to hurt the … no, she couldn’t even bring herself to think it anymore.

“I can see that you’re not ready. That’s fine. I can wait. I’m a patient man when I need to be. Don’t worry, I have plenty of time to prove my intentions.”

Willa still wasn’t sure what he meant.

He leaned down, grabbing the door handle of the car, and as he did, his scent invaded her senses and she struggled to move.

In some part of her, she found the will to pull away from him and then climb into the car.

Xander wasn’t done with her.

He reached into the car, grabbed the seatbelt, and clicked it into place. As he did this, the back of his hand brushed across her ch3st, straight over her n!pples.

Willa hissed, sinking her teeth into her bottom l!p to silence her reaction. She was shocked to replace how extremely ar0used she was.

He seemed completely unaffected by her closeness.

Sitting perfectly still, she waited for Xander to pull away from her, closing her car door.

She had no idea what she was doing. Why she even agreed to go on this dinner that was fast turning into some kind of date.

Xander climbed behind the wheel, turned over the ignition, and headed back toward campus. A subtle disappointment clung to her. Did she want him to keep pushing her to go to his hotel? Should she have taken a risk and gone for it?

What if this was real, her one chance at happiness and romance?

He pulled up to her place. She had a small apartment right near the campus, but how did he know that?

Tyson didn’t even know where she lived.

“Are you mad at me?” she asked.

“No, why would I be mad?”

“You’re quiet.”

“I’m respecting you, Willa. You need space, and I’m coming on a little strong. I get that. It’s the animal in me. You would understand if you … were like me.”

“Like you?”

“You’re important to me, Willa, and I’ve waited a long time for you. I don’t want to keep on waiting, but I can give you space if you need it.”

She noticed he didn’t mention time. Just space.

She pressed the seatbelt button and grabbed the door handle.

“How about breakfast?” Xander asked.

“Breakfast?”

“You eat first thing in the morning, don’t you?”

She nodded. Words failed her.

“Excellent. I’ll pick you up at seven.”

Xander didn’t leave until she was inside her apartment. As she entered, she collapsed against the door and realized she had a breakfast date. So much for giving her space.

Willa couldn’t help but smile though.

She had a date.

****

Xander loved his son. Tyson meant everything to him.

Even if he was conceived with a woman who wasn’t his true mate, that didn’t mean he didn’t love him. He did. More than anything.

Right now, he was replaceing Tyson to be a giant pain in the as*s. The entitled little shit wanted to talk about them. The rival pack Xander refused to even bring to mind. Tyson was under the horrible impression that he should join forces with them. His son had no idea who he was dealing with.

He took a deep breath as he climbed out of his car and headed over to Willa’s building. Leaving her alone last night had been next to impossible.

She was skittish like a deer.

It was to be expected. She wasn’t wolf. Of course, she’d have nerves and doubts. She didn’t understand what he was feeling. There were no feral instincts ruling her actions and desires.

His b***d felt so f*****g warm, it was set to boiling. His d!ck was rock-hard. No amount of o*****s could help, and he’d spent half the night doing exactly that. Working his d!ck while thinking of all the dirty things he was going to do to Willa.

Every single one of her s*xual desires would be answered by him and him alone. She’d take his too-big c0ck into her v!rgin pvssy, every inch. She would never go without.

He couldn’t wait to feel her, to drive his c0ck inside her and hear her scream his name as she came hard, losing all sense of control.

That would be a dream, one he intended to live daily.

Folding his arms, he was aware of a couple of female runners getting closer. His hearing was impeccable, and they liked what they saw and wanted a piece of him.

He wasn’t interested.

Willa had just stepped out of her building. As she did so, she ran her fingers through her hair. She looked tired.

She’d thrown on a pair of jeans, which didn’t do her justice as they were far too big. He had to wonder if she’d lost some weight, or if they were all she could replace in the store. The shirt she wore was also too big and didn’t hug those curves the way clothes were supposed to.

Not that it stopped him from looking at her t!ts. They were huge, and he couldn’t wait to k!ss and f**k them. He had a lot of plans for her body.

In fact, the moment he finally got her alone and on board with being his mate, she was just going to be naked. He would ban clothes for her.

Xander knew he was going to need a couple of weeks, if not a few months of her naked to slake his need for her.

He nearly burst out laughing. There was not going to be any slaking.

Willa was perfect.

“Morning,” she said, offering him a smile as she walked toward him.

The smile didn’t stay on for long as the two runners advanced between them. One of them shoulder-butted Willa, knocking her off balance. She fell to the concrete.

“Watch where you’re going!” one of them called out.

Anger, hot, hard, and instant, hit Xander. “Apologize now!”

He couldn’t keep the alpha from his voice. The foolish woman was a human, but he would not allow anyone to harm his mate. Seeing even the smallest of frowns on Willa’s face filled him with rage. He had to keep his fangs in check as his wolf fought to take control.

The two runners stopped, both of them looking pale.

He would tear them to f*****g pieces if they didn’t apologize to his woman right now. Xander wasn’t known for his patience within his pack—not when it came to respect.

“Look, mister, she got in my way.”

Xander took a warning step closer. “You moved off your path, and I saw you push her. You want to argue with me, we’ll take this higher, and you can k!ss your future goodbye. I have the power to end you.” With every word he spoke, the women got paler.

He could do it

She’d hurt his woman. He wouldn’t rest until they hurt as well. Simple as that.

“Er,” the one who had actually pushed her mumbled.

“Louder for her to hear!” he snapped.

“I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to knock you down.” She visibly shook.

“It’s fine. Apology accepted,” Willa said.

To him, it wasn’t accepted. He glared at them, shook his head, and turned his attention back to Willa. When he caught sight of her torn cardigan, he looked behind him, but the women had used his distraction as a means to escape.

“I’m going to have to cancel breakfast,” Willa said.

“Nonsense. I will help you with this.” He held her arm, and it didn’t look bad, but he wasn’t human.

Willa winced slightly, and he helped her into his car. “You don’t have to do this,” she said.

“I want to take care of you.” Pulling away from the curb, he headed back to his hotel. He wasn’t too far from the main campus.

“Thank you,” Willa said. “I should have been more careful.”

He expected her to argue with him, but now he merely smiled and nodded. He was going to take care of her.

They arrived at his room less than five minutes later. He wasn’t surprised to see Tyson had run off. His son hated him even more in the morning. Xander wouldn’t allow him to make a stupid mistake.

Tyson’s hatred of humans wasn’t healthy, and it certainly wasn’t anything he’d said to him that had evoked those kinds of feelings.

“Will Tyson be upset that I’m here?” Willa asked.

“No. My son does in fact like you.”

“He does?” The surprise in her voice wasn’t hard to detect.

“You may be the only one.”

After closing his door, he brought her forward and placed her in one of the chairs in the main room. The bedroom was less than five feet away.

He finally had her in his hotel room, which was exactly where he wanted her.

He found a small first-aid kit in the bathroom. After grabbing it, he headed back to his woman. She had used her cardigan in an attempt to hide the bloody scrape. “I don’t want you to get in trouble for damaging the furniture if it bleeds again.”

Did she not realize how sweet and caring she was?

He had to convince her to be his. To become pregnant with his child. Maybe when he was finally mated to her, that would put any doubt out of her mind.
