"Eliza, are you... okay?" His eyes were bloodshot.

Eliza looked pale but managed a smile, shaking her head. "Aaron, I'm fine, don't worry."

"Chelsea told me about your situation," he said softly.

Eliza nodded. "Aaron, I really appreciate your willingness to help me."

Eliza always treated Aaron politely and maintained a courteous distance.

For some reason, this made Aaron's heart ache a bit. "You don't need to thank me. Casper is really out of line, but... it seems like we're powerless."

"He can't change."

Casper's way of life was selfish, indifferent, and domineering. In his world, he wouldn't allow anyone under his control to stray from his path. He had ways to make those who displeased him suffer immensely. Aaron had grown up with Casper. He understood.

"Now that you're pregnant, you can call me if you need anything." Aaron handed Eliza a brand new phone. "This is a new number."

Since Casper took her phone away, she had been cut off from the world. This phone came just in time.

"Thank you, Aaron."

"Don't worry about the outside world for now, wait until-"

Aaron was interrupted as the door opened from outside. Casper strode in, his demeanor calm, a chilling smile on his lips. With a swift movement, he kicked Aaron, sending him flying along with the chair.

"Casper, why are you hitting him?"

Eliza hurried to help Aaron, but Casper grabbed her by the wrist and

pulled her in front of him. "Mrs.

Welton, even confined to an asylum,

you're still cheating?"

"Which eye of yours saw me cheating?" Her eyes were red. Her brows furrowed tightly. "If you're sick, go see a doctor instead of being paranoid all the time."

"Then tell me, why is he here?" Casper picked up the phone Aaron had just given her, his eyes bloodshot. "Tell me, what's this phone for?"

Eliza couldn't explain, her eyes narrowing slightly.

Looking at Aaron on the ground clutching his chest, Casper warned, "If this happens again, I promise the Martin family will disappear from Falconridge."

Eliza was dragged and pushed into the car. Casper's expression was grim. He loosened the button of his collar, shook his head slightly, and slowly turned around. His bloodshot eyes glared at her menacingly. He asked deliberately, "How many times?"

Eliza didn't want to answer. She turned her face away.

He grabbed her chin, forcing her to face him, his menacing gaze filled with an unsettling chill. "I'm asking you a question, Eliza. You'd better not provoke me."

"What do you want me to say?"

Her tone was cold, her gaze shifting slightly. Casper took that as a sign of guilt. The pressure of his fingertips was almost crushing her chin.

Eliza winced in pain and looked away from him. "Casper, you're about to get engaged to Nova. Why keep tormenting me? You don't love me, so why bother with all this?"

"So?" His face suddenly came close, so close that his angry breaths hit her nose. "Do you think you can do as you please?"

"I've been confined to an asylum. What freedom do I have? What can I possibly do?"

Apart from her dissatisfaction with

Casper, her faint and shallow gaze also showed an almost resolute disregard. Every bit of her emotion was showing. Her feelings towards him now were nothing but hatred.
