"I heard it's... the 6th of next month."

The 6th of next month. That was still about twenty days away. She needed to replace a chance to catch up with Chelsea and Aaron.

Just then, Casper strode into the room. He was holding a small, elegant gift bag with a luxury brand logo on it. With a faint smile, he handed the bag to Eliza. "Here, this is for you." Eliza paused, not reaching out immediately. He noticed her hesitation and extended the bag towards her again, his voice gentle. "Take it."

Eliza slowly reached out and took the gift bag. He watched her intently, silently urging her to open it. "Open it and see."

Inside the box was a pair of pearl earrings. They were delicate, emitting a soft glow like tiny stars.

"Do you like them?" he asked softly.

Eliza didn't respond. He gently took the earrings out of the box, raised his hand, and carefully placed them on her petite earlobes, his movements graceful and tender. "Yeah, they suit you." Eliza seemed unimpressed, raising her hand to take them off. "I don't like wearing these kind of earrings."

His hand quickly reached out, gently pressing down on her wrist. "Don't move, keep them on."

His nearly commanding tone carried a hint of displeasure. Eliza frowned but didn't argue further.

"Go change your clothes, come to the Welton family estate with me." Likely fearing Eliza's refusal, he quickly added, "Mom specifically asked you to come over for dinner."

Why did she have to go to the

Welton family estate for dinner? In the two years of their marriage, Eliza had never dined with Casper at the family home. Was there something special happening? Eliza didn't ask. She simply went to change her clothes and followed Casper out the door.

Casper seemed dissatisfied with her attire. "In a few days, I'll have the heads of those women's fashion stores come over to pick out some clothes you like."

Eliza caught on. He was embarrassed by her plain dress. "Mr. Casper, if you have specific needs, just bring the clothes over. I'll wear them. No need to waste that money," Eliza's tone was cool, laced with disdain.

Casper's deep gaze fell on her side profile. "As Mrs. Welton, isn't it your duty to dress appropriately?"

"I'm not the one accompanying you to events, Mr. Casper, so who am I dressing up for?" she glanced at him lightly, then looked away. "I think Mom won't mind what I wear."

Casper, stung by her retort, fell silent. Eliza also closed her eyes, resting in silence.

The family estate was unusually quiet today. Eliza followed behind Casper, entering the large living room where a tense atmosphere hung in the air. Tristan had returned. It seemed something significant had occurred. The household staff were busy serving dinner. Audrey was continuously twisting her prayer beads, silent.

Once all the dishes were served, Tristan cleared his throat and began to speak. "Today, I've called you all back here because I have an important announcement to make." Audrey suddenly put down her prayer beads, looking up at her husband. Tristan turned away, avoiding her gaze, and continued, "I've decided to divorce your mother."

The news stirred a storm of

reactions. Caroline was so shocked

she was rendered speechless.

Casper's brows also furrowed slightly, Audrey wasn't too surprised and just watched Tristan calmly announce this decision. She calmly accepted it.

"Mom, Dad says he wants to divorce you? Have you two discussed this?" Caroline asked Audrey.
