"I want to be with you."

He said it with a seriousness that made Eliza's head spin. The intensity was undeniable.

"Even though Welton International is out of my hands for now, trust me, I'll get it back. And even if I don't, I can still support you. Just give me a chance, will you?" Eliza was stunned.

What nonsense was he spewing? Who needed his support anyway? What was he chasing?

"Casper, can you cut it out? I'm getting engaged today. What's gotten into you?" Didn't he have a girlfriend already? Falling for every girl he sees? "Does your girlfriend know about this? Do you have any moral compass at all?" "I told you, she's not my girlfriend," he corrected.

"And I'm just supposed to believe you?" Besides, whether he had a girlfriend or not had nothing to do with her rejecting his confession. "Mr. Casper, if you're that bored, replace someone else to bother."

He looked at her, those long, curly eyelashes casting shadows under the soft light. "I'm serious."

"I don't like you." She lifted her gaze, meeting his eyes with disgust, without a hint of hesitation.

He smiled helplessly, wrapped his arms around her waist, and kissed her again.

Eliza was caught off guard and struggled too late. Casper was inherently dominant, assertive. The more she struggled, the deeper he kissed. She had always been unable to resist him, nor fight back. "Val, are you in there?" A knock came at the restroom door.

Eliza finally managed to push the man away with all her strength. "Yes, just a minute."

She needed to leave.

Casper, still not wanting to let her go, was reluctant.

She glared at him, extending her finger as a warning, "Casper, you better be rational, otherwise..."

"Otherwise what?" He bowed his head to take her finger into his mouth, shocking her into pulling back. But his larger hand was quicker to grasp hers, his eyes full of desire as he looked into hers. "You'll agree to be with me?"

"Mr. Casper, are you into forced affection?" She didn't appreciate such twisted pursuits. "If you are, then you've got the wrong person."

"You and David aren't right for each other. He's not good enough."

"And you know that how? Don't you realize that slandering others comes at a cost?"

The man innocently shook his head. "I'm not slandering. It's a fact."

"So what?" Did he really think that beside that one thing, there was nothing else between a man and woman? already have a child. marriage not predicated on procreation is immaterial to

"Oh?" He smiled.

"Let me go."

She was getting annoyed. Dealing with Casper felt just as irritating as before she lost her memory.

"Then agree to consider, and I'll let you go."

"Consider what?" She attempted to break free, her tone laced with impatience.

He looked intently into her beautiful eyes, solemn and heartfelt. "Consider being my girlfriend."

Outside, David's urging voice interrupted their standoff again.

Eliza sighed helplessly, only managing to placate him. "Fine, I'll consider it."

Joy flickered in his eyes, his smile growing gentler. "You promise?" "Promise, promise."

She pushed him away and walked towards the door. He noticed the visible bite mark on her shoulder, quickly taking off his jacket and gently draping it over her shoulders, giving her a knowing look.

The door opened.

David stood at the entrance.

"Let's go, David." Eliza stepped away.

David's gaze shifted to the man behind Eliza, filled with inquiry, skepticism, and a hint of

Although Casper didn't recognize him, he certainly recognized Casper.
