His Lethal Love
Chapter 84

Third Person POV.

The shower kept pouring on Scott's face as he sat still. He stared blankly at the ceiling with his head resting against the wall. "I wish you could understand how much I love you," he mumbled to himself. His heart was aching for everything he did to Camille. He wondered if he would ever be able to forgive himself for the sins he committed in his past life. It was time to repay the terrible deed he did to her. No matter how challenging it was, he had to accept his fate. "Scott..." Camille knocked on the door while calling his name. Scott looked at the door when he heard her worried voice. "I heard something break inside the bathroom. Are you okay?" Scott rose to his feet and opened the door, staring at Camille with a blank expression. "I'm fine, Cam," he said. His voice came out husky due to the hurricane of emotions swirling inside him. Camille's eyes pointed at the wound he caused himself from the broken mirror. "Oh my God, Scott!" she gasped and reached out to him, examining his bloody fist. "How did this happen to you?"

"I just fell off..." Scott avoided meeting her gaze. He brushed her hand away softly and headed to the wardrobe to get a towel and undergarments. Camille watched him as he removed the towel from his body. She didn't flinch at his nakedness. In fact, she admired his muscular body. Every muscle on his body was ripped and profound. His shoulders were broad and his chest was firm. Her eyes took in his muscled butt and her knees turned to water.

She cursed herself for longing for him again. She was falling into the clever trap he had weaved for her. Shaking her head, she walked out of the room quickly, but she noticed a drop of blood following Scott wherever he walked. His wound was fresh and deep. He needed immediate first aid before his injury got infected. When Scott changed into lower pants and a blue t-shirt he walked into his library and plopped into an armchair in front of the fireplace. He glanced at his bloody fist and wrapped it roughly in a handkerchief.

"Scott..." Camille approached him and came in front of him, staring him down. "Give me your hand." She extended her hand.

"Uh..." Scott frowned in confusion. Her sudden act of kindness baffled him.

"Give me your hand, stupid." She snatched his hand when he didn't move and started to clean it with cotton. "Don't take me for granted," Camille said bitterly. "I'm doing this because you saved my daughter's life. This is just a small favor." Scott's jaw clenched at her bitter words as he stared at her coldly. He yanked his hand away and kept her away from him.

"I just did that for Colette. I never expected this kind of gesture from you either."

Camille flexed her jaw and pulled his hand forcefully, making him grunt in pain. "Sit quietly, asshole." She snapped with clenched teeth and started to put ointment on his hand. "Is it necessary to be pompous every time?"

Scott smirked while watching her intently. "I could see who is being pompous here." He rolled his eyes. Camille gave him a deadly glare but said nothing.

They fell silent for a few minutes. Scott scrutinized her as she bandaged his wound like a professional nurse. She felt his intense gaze on her as heat crawled up to her face. She could feel his eyes on her face, making her face flustered. Desire radiated between them.

"Do you know what is the most beautiful part of your body, Cam?" Scott whispered in her ears. His voice sounded sexy and provocative. He moved closer to her ear, giving her goosebumps all over her body. "It's your ass, Cam. I still remember the day when you were dancing with Rika on your seventeenth birthday. Your ass..." He smiled at those memories. "Jesus Christ, I just wanted to rip off your dress right there and wanted to have you right against your kitchen counter. Trust me, you have been the most provocative woman of my life, Can. You teased me, tortured me, and yet you didn't let me touch you."

"These things don't make any sense, Scott."

"These things are all I left with, Cam." Scott smiled glumly and Camille's heart broke to see him. She didn't want to feel this weird feeling for him but she was powerless.

"The damage has been done, Scott," Camille said in a low voice.

"The damage has been done, Cam." Scott stood up and walked over to his bed, lying on it. Camille watched him as he switched off the light. Camille rose, making her way under the cover. "Get back to your room, Cam."

"If you don't mind, can I sleep here?" she asked, staring right into his eyes, making his heart thump.

Amaze washed over his face but he quickly brushed it away and said, "Yes, of course."

Camille slid closer to him before whispering, "Take some rest, Scott."

A smile spread across his face before he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Scott looked gorgeous in a black crisp suit with a silver tie. He was getting ready to attend a banquet arranged by a director for his 50th birthday party. Grabbing his Rolex watch he wrapped it around his wrist and headed out of the room. Camille was at the kitchen counter reading journals, but she stopped reading them when her eyes shot to Scott. Her heart almost skipped a beat when she saw him like that. "Where are you going?" she asked in a stern tone.

"Today Jackson is celebrating his fifteenth birthday so I am heading there," Scott answered while scrolling his phone and checking a few emails.

"I also got an invitation but I am not attending. Is it really necessary to attend every party you are invited to?" Camille rolled her eyes.

"I guess not, but I have worked with him for the past ten years so he is important to me."

Camille said nothing and took a sip of her coffee. Her eyes settled back on the journals she was reading and ignored Scott's presence. But suddenly she remembered one person. "Is Maura accompanying you?" "No," Scott replied with raised brows. "Why?"

"I heard she flew back to London but I'm surprised she didn't visit you here once."

"I told her not to come," Scott said bluntly.

"Oh." Camille thought something for a while before looking at him again. "Can I come with you?"

"What?" Scott exclaimed as if he didn't believe what he had just heard. "What did you just ask?"

"Can I join you?" she asked in a bitter tone.

"But why?"

"Because..." her words trailed off. "Because I also wanted to attend this party."

Scott didn't understand her sudden change of mind but he gave her a nod anyway. "Okay, you have ten minutes."

"I'll be right back." Camille rushed into the room and changed her dress. She wore a black satin dress and pulled her hair into a tight ponytail. She applied natural makeup with bold red lipstick on her lips. Putting on a pair of silver stilettos she grabbed her clutch and walked out.

Scott's eyes widened in surprise as his eyes scanned her body from head to toe. "Wow! You've done a good job in such a short time."

"Thanks." Camille forced a smile, strolling toward the elevator. They rode straight down the parking lot and climbed into the car. Camille was confused as she didn't understand why she was accompanying Scott when he didn't ask her once. What was wrong with her? She crossed her arms and stared out the window, trying to avoid looking at Scott.

She was sure there was something within her that had changed and she didn't like this change in her.

After a while, Scott pulled into the parking lot of Jackson's house and climbed out. He opened the door for Camille and photographers swarmed around them.

"Oh no!" Camille gasped to see the amount of paparazzi gathering around them.

Scott held her hand and dragged her away from the crowd. Camille's eyes stuck to the ground the whole way through. The doorkeeper quickly took them inside and Camille took a sigh of relief.

"Coming with you was a totally wrong idea. Conan would not like to see us together."

Scott said nothing but he didn't like her words. They approached Mr. Jackson who was busy in conversation with a group of television personalities.

"Mr. Martinez and Miss Davidson," he blurted out in surprise when he saw Scott and Camille together. "Delighted to have you two here. Thanks for coming."

"The pleasure is all mine. By the way, happy birthday." Scott nodded pleasantly and shook his hand.

"Happy birthday, sir," Camille smiled and firmly shook his hand.

"Please have some drinks." Jackson grabbed two glasses of drink and passed one to each of them.

"Thanks." Scott took a sip of his red wine before glancing at Camille who seemed to be busy examining the people at the banquet. She looked like she was searching for somebody else.

"There is something I want to talk about." Jackson gestured something to Scott and he quickly realized.

"Excuse me," Scott said to Camille before they walked away.

Camille frowned when Scott and Jackson disappeared around the corner of the hallway. Now, she is alone among strangers. Though she knew some faces, most of the people were unknown to her. Walking up to the counter she ordered herself a drink while waiting for Scott.

Half an hour passed but Scott didn't come and it frustrated her. During this time Camille finished half a bottle of wine. She stormed into the bathroom. She was sitting on the toilet bowl when she heard footsteps. Panic hit her chest when she caught a pair of black shoes through the gap between a stall.

"Scott!" Camille rasped stupidly knowing that it was not Scott. He didn't wear this kind of shoe. What is a man doing in the women's restroom? Camille flushed the toilet and got out. She stood still and a horrifying scream escaped her lips when a ghosted masked man appeared in front of her.

He grabbed her neck and slammed her against the wall vigorously, making it difficult for her to breathe. She threw her arms and legs in a desperate attempt to free herself. As she reached for his face, he dodged and ruthlessly strangled her neck. Suddenly her eyes closed and she lost consciousness.

"So the deal is done." Scott shook Jackson's hand firmly with a tight smile. He looked at the spot where he left Camille alone but she was not there. Calmly he looked around the room but she was nowhere in sight. Alarmed, he approached the waiter. "Have you seen Cara Davidson?" he asked breathily, running his fingers through his hair in agitation.

"No, sir." The waiter replied politely.

Scott swallowed hard, running upstairs to search for her. Come on, she is not a teenage girl. Scott tried to calm him down. "Cam...!" He called her name while running into the hallway. "Stupid me!" he hissed when he fished out his phone from his pants pocket. "I could have called her." He laughed nervously while punching her number, but her calls went to voicemail. He tried repeatedly but did not get a response.

"Fuck!" he threw his phone angrily when this time her phone had gone unreachable. "Perhaps it was another game she played. That's why she came with me. Shit! I am fucking scared for her."

I was startled when a woman's scream broke out in the air.
