Nick

POV

He was sitting in his room on the first floor, Jeremy was sitting across from him, they were discussing the best options to get Lucinda back to his pack. The alliance meant that he had the right to take her, as did the Mate Bond, but how was the actual problem. Both he and Jeremy, didn't think she was going to willing go with them. Neither of them actually saw her putting herself in the backseat of his car, or staying there, if one of them put her in there.

There was also the possibility, that she might shift and have Ky'ra stand her ground, if her wolf was also not willing to bond with his. Nick was not exactly certain, where her wolf stood on the situation, had yet to make herself know to him, or Rip for that matter. After what they had seen,of Ky'ra and her aggression levels, neither of them wanted a showdown with her. They also couldn't put a fully grown wolf like Ky'ra in a car. Would likely tear it to shreds. Then there was the possibility that if they did shift, Ky'ra would turn and bolt, which would make him have to shift to retrieve her and a wolf on wolf fight, with his mate was not something he wanted.

Rip, was dead set against it.

The options were limited, silver hand cuffs would stop her wolf from emerging, but neither he not Rip wanted to resort to that. Those cuffs would burn her skin all the way home to their pack, which was five hours away. Completely unacceptable and certainly would not go in their favour.

Lunch was delivered to his room, and it was followed by Alpha Corey, who came to eat with them and have a chat. He sat himself down and smiled at him "Not going to go as planned, I don't think Nick." "Agreed." Nick nodded.

"Well you'll be pleased I have come up with a contingency plan, and I have already discussed it with Lindy and Gabby...Gabby because she's like her best friend." He elaborated.

Nick nodded, it didn't surprise him to be honest, not with Gabby raising her twin sisters "Alright let's here it."

"I will have my unit on standing by, in-case she runs off...though catching Ky'ra in full sprint might be a tough job. She's fast, surprised your Beta kept up to be honest."

"Barely so." Jeremy nodded "though I think Rip would catch her easily, that beast is freaking fast." he smiled.

"But my unit, will be prepared to contain her if necessary." Alpha Corey nodded. "we'll sedate her if necessary."

"Do you really think it will come to that?" Nick frowned.

"It might...you can never know, with a she-wolf, they are emotional creatures at the best of times, all hot and cold...and Lucinda and Ky'ra, actually feed off of each others emotions some times, if one feels strongly enough about something, the other can be affected by it. I've seen them influence each other at times, and greatly so."

"Great so a pissed of Lucinda..."

"Is generally a pissed of Ky'ra, yes!... But Ky'ra is a naturally grumpy and growly wolf...Actually her behaviour, since you've been here...A little different to her normal persona."

"How so?" Nick asked, Rip to had been different, the whole time they'd been here.

"Well, I've never seen her scratch up a car like that before, when she's mad, usually would just go the other wolf! to put them in their place...

"Just go the other wolf?" Nick didn't like the sound of that.

"Yep! seen a few un-mated males get put in their place by Ky'ra, and occasionally by Lucinda herself, they all know better now, not to hit on her and try anything, but when she first appeared her wolf...well you've seen her. Our un-mated wolves, all wanted a chance to mate with her."

"Great! Was she ever hurt?"

Corey laughed "No son. She's an angry beast, with I believe a persona of "Not my Mate." is how Lucinda explained it to me once." "Well that is good, considering, I am her mate."

"Should go in your favour yes. Now back to my conversation with them two over your car, those two also knew they were going to get into trouble." he chuckled and leaned back in his chair, shook his head "That conversation I had with her about it, the pair of them were completely amused over their actions, and didn't seem to care. Maybe looking to tick you off son, I'd say Ky'ra was itching for you to come hunt her down. That wolf has a mind of her own and Lucinda can't always contain her."

"I got that feeling with the Alpha wolf."

"Don't miss read that Nicholas, that would have all been Lucinda's emotions and Ky'ra feeding off of them, not the other way around, your Mate is just as fierce as her wolf. In fact Ky'ra told Lucinda she didn't come earlier because Lucinda needed to be strong enough first. Pissed off she didn't arrive on a full moon actually." Corey was suddenly staring at him like something just dawn on him, slapped his knee and burst out laughing.

"What is so funny?"

"The day Ky'ra first spoke to Lucinda, guess who nearly lost his head? And she was filthy mad it wasn't a full moon."

"So?"

Jeremy laughed "She was trying to connect with your wolf the minute she arrived."

"likely sensed her mate near by, but because it wasn't the full moon, couldn't arrive and scent you out. Led to a very cranky wolf, though the minute you hit this pack started playing games with you." "You think her wolf knew."

"Maybe, the goddess does like a good game."

Jeremy chuckled "Yeah! she's really enjoying playing with him." he point right at Nick.

Corey chuckled too "She certainly did match quite a pair."

Nick didn't particularly replace it all that funny.

"This morning in my office. Lucinda couldn't play with you like that, not without her wolf playing along either, seeing as you're her mate...I've never seen that ever, not with Ky'ra...my mate yes all the time." he shook his head.

"Is this a good thing or a bad thing?" Nick had no idea to be honest. He'd been more then ticked off most of that meeting, and Rip had been quite annoyed himself.

"Don't know to be honest." he shrugged "Hoping for your sake, its a good thing."

"Agreed, Can I ask is Lucinda naturally mischievous and troublesome?"

"Can be," he shrugged "but no more so than Lindy or Gabby. Generally she has a happy demeanour."

"That's some what comforting." he huffed thinking about Lindy's behaviour.

Corey just smiled, and Jeremy looked very happy, he'd just found a new person to annoy his Alpha with, one he could literally hide behind, one that could take the blame and not get punished. Bloody hell, he thought the man was troublesome at the best of times, once Lucinda settled in, they could both make his life hell and thoroughly enjoy doing so.

"After lunch we'll try again and if it doesn't go well...and I'm expecting pretty much the same reaction as this morning or more resistance, now they've had their bout of fun. If she leaves the office I'll have Lindy and Gabby go over and convince her. They are actually in agreement that she needs to go with you, so will help you on this occasion."

"Who's the Alpha she goaded?" Jeremy suddenly asked seemingly out of no where.

"Alpha Darwin, that's all I know, don't know what pack." he shrugged.

"Her connection to him?" Nick asked.

"That is her story." he shook his head "just give it time, she will tell you. When she does..." he sighed "you know, lets just leave it there, I'll let you react naturally. Just be prepared to expect her to want to go home sometimes." "Home is my pack."

"Not in her heart son, not until she can trust you."

"Alright. Send for us when you're ready."

Alpha Corey nodded and left the room.

"Find out who Alpha Darwin is and we might get some answers." nick mused aloud.

"I've not heard of him." Jeremy was frowning.

"Me either, well that's something we need to replace out, and where the mans pack is, to keep her away from it."

"Agreed...Nick, whatever there is between them, it's not over you know that right."

"I know that."

'I don't like it! Rip huffed his tail swishing back and forth.

'me either. Nick agreed with his wolf.

Her reaction was more resistance than this mornings attempt to get her to go with him. He watched her read over the agreement and was disbelieving that he hadn't put any conditions on her. Nick actually didn't particularly want any on her, after reading up on Luna's he wanted to at least try and do the right thing by her and the pack.

If his father was still alive, he would go home and demand some bloody answers, as to why he raised his boys to think a pack didn't need a Luna, that they were just a baby making machine, that lived to sate his needs.

Rip certainly was annoyed that Nick would even think about conditions on his mate, when he had thought about it briefly, so the only thing he had put in, was one Rip was in agreement with at least one pup, when? It didn't matter.

Rips thought on the subject 'Pups will happen, our mate will want pups.

Nick didn't know, he only wanted one anyway, so one was fine with him. Rip had snorted at him.

Just one, I want a litter'

Nick had just shaken his head, on the subject, one is all that is needed, boy or girl it didn't matter to him.

'Our pups will all be strong! Rip had seemed happy thinking about it, he clearly liked the idea of having pups. Plural, always used plural, never singular.

Nick had ignored the comment about him having hundreds of bed mates and rejecting her for one of the many she-wolves he had bedded. Let it go because he didn't need to piss her off, with the number of she-wolves he had actually bedded. To be honest he'd not even thought about a single one, in the whole time he'd been here.

Didn't want to, he realised as he looked at her, she was his Mate and he was definitely attracted to her, maybe Deny was right 'just wait until you replace your Mate, you'll see!" as stubborn and annoying as she was, Nick knew he was not leaving this pack without her. Couldn't and didn't want to. If he was totally honest with himself. It had only been two days, and already he was attached to the woman. Hell, he knew if she hadn't been so resistant, they'd likely be Marked and Mated by now. As loved up as all his pack members after the mating ball, in all likelihood.

She did not like the idea of being sedated, but he threw it at her, solely to make it clear to her, she would be going regardless. That she took it as though he was going to be the one to sedate her, was her own take on the situation. Nick thought she would not be impressed, if he told her it was her own Alpha, that was willing to do that to her. She had stormed off, slamming the door pretty much as expected at this point.

He heard Luna Lindy sigh heavily "I'll go and get Gabby." she looked right at Nick "we'll do our best son."

"thank you mother." he smiled right back at her.

She actually chuckled when leaving the room. The woman couldn't be that much older than him but still insisted on calling him son. It was now a waiting game.

He was already packed and ready to go as was Jeremy. In fact his car was packed and parked directly out the front of the pack-house, the door handle had been fixed and the door now working, they could leave at anytime.

He spent the afternoon prowling around and pacing back and forth, unable to sit still, Rip was much the same in his mind, on three occasions he'd suggested, we just walk over there and pick up our tiny mate and carry her to the car. Jeremy was sitting on the pack- house steps leaning casually back on his elbows reading a book from the Luna Library.

Luna Lindy had sent down a box of books, she thought would help him "educate himself" and she would have them back, when Lucinda came back to visit in a months time. He had simply nodded and told the young omega boy, carrying the box to pass on his thanks to Luna Lindy.

He wanted to ask her, about the Luna Ceremony. But he already felt very lacking in his knowledge, and that was likely going to make him look utterly stupid, for not knowing, perhaps Jeremy's grandmother would be able to help on that one. So he'd not asked, would wait and if it came down to it, and he couldn't replace out anything from Jeremy's grandmother. He would call Luna Lindy and ask her. He was certain she would take great pleasure in "educating him".

He watched James take the twins over, and bring them back an hour or so later, they had looked very upset, like they'd been crying in fact. They had both looked at him with their angry blue eyes, he'd smiled at them, tried to look and be friendly but they were clearly to young to understand, that mated she-wolves had to go to their mates pack, especially if that mate was a Ranked member.

One of them had actually stopped and glared right at him, arms folded and then to his utter shock, kicked him as hard as she could right in the shin. It had actually hurt, that little girl had some power behind her. James had simply picked her up and walked off, not even admonished her for her behaviour, Jeremy had chuckled softly but said nothing.

Nick wasn't actually expecting the little girl to be punished, but jeez right in the shin. He wasn't expecting them to be happy about it, he had seen the way the two little girls were with Lucinda, it was a pity she didn't look after them. Things could probably have gone better if they were going as well.

They didn't look anything like her he noted. The twins had long platinum blonde curly hair, big bright blue eyes and even their skin tone was darker. A little odd for siblings to look nothing alike at all. He turned and watched them go with James, they were a handful, just like Lucinda was, though.

'Our pups, will be strong willed too, Rip chortled seemingly happy about it.

'Great!' Nick muttered back, that was just what he wanted, an unruly child, though the twins did seem to listen to her, and she had them trained well on the training ground, they clearly listened to her. His thoughts were interrupted when his hearing picked up his Mate crying, terribly so. Saying goodbye to them was killing her, he knew it. Could here the distress in her sobs.

Rip was pushing him to go to her, but they needed to give her time to say goodbye, goddess he didn't think she was every going to stop crying, he could tell Jeremy had registered it as well his eyes were on her house. He'd glanced at Nick, almost asking the silent question of what are you going to do?

Nick shook his head, there was nothing he could do at this point, just wait it out. Rip was very annoyed with him, but didn't force his way to the surface and go running over there, seemed to understand, she needed her own time to say good bye to her family.
