“You know what?” I said sniffing, “This is the problem you don’t trust me. You’ve never trusted me even way back..”

“That’s because you’ve never given me a reason to trust you. You always lie to me and we can never work if all you ever do is lie..”

“Don’t act as you’ve never lied to me before..” I interrupted, “You never told me you had a brother much less two sisters all you’ve done is lie to me too Zane..”

“Is this all the reason why you cheated on me? Because I lied?”

“I didn’t cheat on you don’t you get that!” I yelled, “if I did then you would have felt it but you know what? you are just impossible to deal with and you are right we are never going to work if we keep things from each other..” I removed the ring giving it back to him.

“No Scarlet don’t..” Mom said, “please you can’t do this..”

“No Mom..” Zane said, “it’s for the best she doesn’t trust me, I don’t trust her either I want a relationship that is really where trust exists..” he said my heartbreaking as tears began spilling out I turned around to look at him as he looked me in the eye. His eyes held so many emotions but only two stood out the most love and betrayal.

” stop!” Mom yelled pulling me away.

“You both can’t do this you can’t throw away your relationship like that. If you reject each other you both will die and what about the baby.?”

“There is no baby mom..” I sniffed, “because the only person who is supposed to make me pregnant doesn’t trust me! It’s for the best if I can’t be with him then I am good as being dead..” I turned and looked at him, ” please continue..” I said

“ENOUGH.!!” Dad’s voice thundered through the house,

“You both are making a mistake! you are acting like three-year-olds! the mate bond isn’t something that you get to serve each time you argue. You both need to talk and sort things out..”

“No!” I shook my head, “it’s over between us Dad. I have always loved him he should realize that fact by now but I am tired I can’t deal with this anymore. He will never love me back. No matter how much I try…” I said running upstairs straight to my room. I lay on my bed crying my eyes out. It was hurting so much. After everything after loving him all my life, I get nothing out of it only hurt. This is so unfair I sobbed hugging my pillow. After crying for I don’t know how long I felt sleep catch up to me but Another wave of nausea hit me and I quickly ran to the bathroom puking out all the ice cream I just ate.

I felt someone hold my hair back and rubbing my back.

“It’s okay..” I heard Mom’s voice

After I was done I splashed some water on my face then grabbed the toothbrush brushing my teeth while she stood there neither of us saying anything.

“Angel we have to talk..” she began.

“Mom if this is about Zane then I don’t want to hear it..” I said going to my room and sitting on the bed

“No, you will have to whether you like it or not..” She said in a matter of fact tone

“Mom—.”

“No Angel..” she cut me off, ” “you and Zane have lost your minds.” She said exasperated.

“Do you think the mate Bond is just some toy that you break whenever you like? You should be more reasonable and sensible you could have ended the life of a child who barely can breathe or think on their own. Did you think about what would happen to your baby if you both rejected each other?”

“Mom–“

“No..” she growled making me flinch, “I can hear the heartbeat whether you wanna accept it or not you are very damn pregnant and this drama between you and Zane has to stop. You need to stop lying and starting trusting and telling him things..” She said her voice rising a bit. Mom has never talked to me like this before and it was making me tear up.

“Please stop yelling..” I said my voice in a small whisper while I wiped away a few tears. I heard her sigh.

“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to yell but you have to understand, your relationship will never blossom if you lie to him. I am not taking sides or anything because I know that he lied to you as well. If there is only love and not trust in a relationship then it can never work.” This time her voice came out soft.

“I know that it will be difficult for you to start trusting or telling him things because you have gotten used to doing things alone but you have to try. You are no longer alone now you have your mate by your side and a baby on the way. You both will have a family of your own very soon but for that family to grow in love and care it will need to start by you both trusting each other.

Angel a baby needs both parents I know they are some who don’t but don’t deprive your baby of experiencing a father’s love I know how it feels not to grow up with a father because I lost mine when I was seven though my mom died when I was four and I know you know that kind of feeling too. There is always this emptiness where you even wish that your father was there for you..” I sniffed she was right I always wished to have a father before I even found out that I was a half Angel half goddess, I always wished that my Mom would get married so that I can have a father figure in my life. If she’s right about me being pregnant then I won’t allow my baby to grow up without its father.

“You and Zane have to fix things it won’t be easy I know that because your Dad and I have been through a lot in our lives we have been through countless battles but our love for each other kept us strong. A relationship is never perfect there are always ups and downs but what will help you both stay together is not the mate bond or love but your ability to trust that your other half has your back and will be there for you even when things go West..” She kissed my forehead wiping away some of the tears. A knock on the door had our attention

“Come in..” Mom, she said smiling at me.

“Are you done?” I heard Dad’s voice both Mom and I got up from the Bed our eyes snapping towards him as he came in with Zane behind him.

He looked at me as I looked at him our eyes momentarily locking.

“Remember what I told you..” Mom said breaking me from the eye lock.

“You both need to fix things..” she said looking at us, “And no rejecting each other! if I replace out I will smack you in the head..”

“Yes, mother dearest..” I said hugging her as she hugged me back. My eyes found Zane’s again as he bore into mine. We both stood there looking at each other until I decided to break away only to realize that Mom and Dad had left the room. Before long Zane was standing in front of me. I looked up to see him staring at my lips then my eyes.

*ZANE pov*

I watched as she disappeared up the stairs. It broke me but I knew it was for the best it was bound to happen sooner or later. Scarlet and I were probably never meant to be I sighed placing the ring in my pocket and then running my hands through my hair.

“You are crazy and foolish you know that..” Dad scolded while Mom followed after Scarlet

“Dad please..”

“No..” he growled at me, ” don’t Dad me! someone has to knock some sense into you. What were you thinking? Was rejecting her the only solution because she lied and cheated on you? Zane like she said if she cheated you would have felt it you are a werewolf you would have felt pain if she did.,”

“Well, what was I suppose to do Dad I saw them both together with his arm around her waist coming out of a hotel room, and Dad we both know that a girl and a boy can never just book a hotel room only to talk..” I said glaring at Lucas.

“Dad you are right he is crazy..” he said making me growl

“Don’t growl at me big brother. If I were to touch Scarlet I would have done it the moment she walked into this house but I didn’t you know why? because I respected you I would never betray you like that I consider her as my sister and she considers me as a brother. I can never touch something that belongs to you and to tell you the truth the reason why I went into that hotel room was because of you..”

” me??” I asked

” Yes, you. She went to meet a guy and when I saw him I decided to follow to make sure she was safe and not being touched by another man.”

“What was she doing with him?” I asked, “And how did you end up at a hotel?”
