Chapter 42

Kelly brought a lot of gifts to Lauren's place because she thought Lauren could choose one or two from these gifts. After all Leo was a baby boy that Lauren knew just for a few days.

But Lauren squatted, fiddling with those gifts. She said she wanted to give all of them to Leo.

It was a wonderful feeling for her. At the thought of Leo, Lauren's heart was soft, and she couldn't help but to give him

everything. After a long time, Lauren decide to give Leo Lego and a model car.

She wanted to surprise Leo, but when she arrived, she was told that Leo was not at home.

Lauren was a little disappointed and then wondered why Leo was not at home.

The living room was empty. The maid Daphne stepped forward to greet Lauren, enthusiastically took the gift in her hand and said while walking. "Leo must be very happy if he knows that you are here. Yesterday he talked about you all day and asked me to

prepare delicious food for you."

Imagining Leo's beautiful face, Lauren pursed her lips and then smiled.

After Lauren sat down on the sofa, Daphne said, “Leo was waiting for you, but yesterday he was took to his grandparents' home.

Leo will come back at noon, and he left a letter to you." Daphne took out a pink piece of paper, on which was the childish

handwriting:

Dear Lauren:

I'll go to my grandma's place today and come back at noon. Please wait for me and I will come back soon.

At the end of the letter, two people were holding hands.

After reading the letter, Lauren's heart seemed to be drenched in warm water.

Holding the letter, Lauren didn't want to leave and she just wanted want for Leo.

Daphne was afraid that Lauren might feel boring, so she served some fruits and snacks, and then gave Lauren a book to read. Daphne said, "I'm sorry, Miss Bennett. I still have some work to do in the kitchen so I cannot accompany you."

Lauren didn't need anyone to accompany her, so she nodded and then opened the book.

This was Gone with the Wind, and Lauren liked reading this book very much when she was in junior high school. She liked the heroine. At that time, she was young and she admired her classmates who could get love and support from their family.

So she told herself that she must be as strong as Scarlett O'hara.

Later, when she grew older, she had less desire for parents' love. And she would still read this book frequently.

Lauren was not in the mood reading, but there was nothing to do, so she flipped through the book. She accidentally discovered a line of words in the book. It was beautiful handwriting, very similar to hers.

"Charlie will love Lauren for a lifetime!"

Lauren froze and stared at this line of words. The handwriting was so familiar. It was strange!

Lauren put the book on the coffee table, took out her pen from her bag, and them wrote the same line. After finishing, the two lines were compared by Lauren. The handwriting was almost identical. Lauren had been practicing writing since she was a child. So she knew how similar these two lines were. The similar

handwriting, as well as same names, made Lauren feel strange. She stared at that line for a long time.

After that, she flipped through a few pages to see if there was any similar handwriting, but she didn't see it. At the end of the book, in the corner of the last page, she found a reply.
