Well, this was it..we were all sitting down at the table and the anxiety about what we were going to say was making my stomach flip over and over again.

My Uncle Jack looks so happy and peaceful too..he is laughing and filling up Lacey's plate with spaghetti. Which, by the way, I absolutely love Lacey. She is the perfect girl for my uncle because she calls him out on his crap. She even elbowed him in the ribs a few times when he started teasing Asher.

Carson hasn't said much, which I can tell is because he is dying slowly from the secret that was revealed to him. I told him I knew Asher said something, which brought him some relief but I could see he was trying not to accidentally say anything whenever someone asked him a question. Poor guy, he looks more nervous than me.

I glanced over at my husband, watching as he slowly turned his head to me and gripped the bottom of my chair, pulling me closer to his side. The action made my uncle roll his eyes as he stabbed a meatball aggressively before taking a bite.

"So, you guys are leaving in two weeks for California?" Melody randomly asked, making Asher dart his gaze from me. I used this opportunity to quickly glare at my Uncle and mouth a few choice words to him.

"Knock it off." I delivered with narrowed eyes.

"What?!" He whispered, making me reach my foot under the table and try to kick him...which I must have missed because Lacey suddenly flinched and let out a yelp.

I slapped my hand over my mouth as my eyes widened.

"I am so sorry..that was meant for someone else." I whispered hastily as Asher was telling Melody about where we would be staying in California and when he would meet with the scouting recruiters. My actions didn't go unnoticed though because he squeezed my thigh, causing me to clear my throat and sit up straighter. How embarrassing..I can't believe I just kicked her.

"It's okay." Lacey laughed in return and my uncle was trying so hard to hold it in and gave me the smuggest smile..which prompted me to glare at him some more. I swear sometimes he really is more like my older brother than an uncle.

Only having twelve years apart between us has made our relationship even closer. I was there for a lot of milestones like going to prom and graduating high-school. That's partly why my Uncle Jack is so protective.. I'm like his little sister/daughter combined so I feel like he has an unattainable standard for who I would eventually date and Marry. So apparently the most amazing and loving man I have ever met wasn't good enough... I think deep down he secretly likes Asher though..he just can't help getting a rise out of him. But it's the same vice-versa..Asher isn't innocent in all of this either.

"So, when do you guys replace out the gender?" Jackie piped in, making me look towards Jack and Lacey who seemed to be smiling mischievously now.

"Actually..we just had the appointment this morning. We wanted to surprise everyone." My Uncle Jack suddenly announced, making me swallow hard.

I quickly pulled out my phone and began typing up a message.

From Emery: Maybe we shouldn't tell my uncle about the pregnancy today..I don't want to ruin their moment baby

I quickly sent the message and let out a deep breath, looking towards my uncle once more. This was huge..and I don't want to ruin a day like this..I can't. So maybe I can just pull him aside later on and tell him then.

I was waiting for Asher to check his phone as I watched Lacey reach into her purse for the ultrasound pictures.

"Baby, check your phone." I whispered to Asher, making him pull his phone out of his pocket and scroll through his texts..only it wasn't there..

"What is it?" He whispered back while Jack stood.

"I will tell you in a minute." That was weird..maybe I didn't hit send.

"I know this has all happened so fast, but I can honestly say I have never felt this happy in my life..to know I am having a child with this beautiful woman..it is a dream come true. One that I thought I didn't deserve to be honest.." Uncle Jack began, making my eyes fill with tears as I glanced over at my dad who was looking at my Uncle with so much love and adoration. They had been through everything together..and to see my Uncle starting a family of his own. I feel like that is a dream come true for my dad too. "I always felt like I have been blessed in this world with a niece that felt like a daughter at times, so to now know that Lacey and I will be having one of our own..I couldn't be any more excited." He smiled brightly, his eyes gleaming with pure happiness as I gasped. "It's a girl?!" I shouted, my excitement taking over as Lacey and my Uncle nodded happily.

"It's a girl!" He confirmed, making my dad let out a cheer as he clapped his hands and stood up to give his brother a big hug. Making me lose it officially, I began sobbing as I stood and threw myself between them, hugging my uncle as hard as I could. "I am so happy for you. I love you, Uncle Jack." I choked out, pulling Lacey into a hug next.

"Thank you for giving him a chance." I whispered, making her begin to cry as we all hugged and felt overwhelmed with so much emotion.

The next thing I knew, I was being pulled into Asher's chest as he told my uncle congratulations and shook his hand. Afterward we walked back to our seats and sat down while I wiped my eyes.

Yeah, this is too good of a moment to possibly ruin.

I opened my phone, going to show Asher the text I didn't send when my damn heart dropped into my stomach..

No..no no no no. I rechecked the text twice..realizing I had made a huge mistake.

I had accidentally sent the text to my uncle instead! Asher peered down, seeing my mistake as his eyes widened..it was like time had slowed down as my heart was pounding in my ears. Both of our gazes shifted slowly to my uncle as we watched on in horror as he pulled out his phone with the biggest smile on his face and began opening what I suspected was my text.

"Uncle Jack wait!" I yelled out, practically diving across the table as his eyes scanned the screen and his stare turned cold..ice cold..

I froze, making everyone else at the table look towards me in confusion.

"I......" My words were unable to come out as he set his phone down slowly. Oh god..why did it look like he was ready to murder someone?

"Is this true?" He asked firmly..but it wasn't pointed at me..the question was for Asher.

"Yes, we just found out two days ago." Asher responded cooly.

"Is what true?" Tina asked curiously, her eyes shooting between us as Scott shifted in the chair next to her awkwardly. He knew how to read the room..and my uncle's stare was obviously giving hostility.

"Well, we..I mean..I am.." My throat suddenly went dry, causing me to bite my lip nervously and that's when my husband swooped in to save the day. He pulled me closer to his side and kissed the top of my head lovingly.

"Emery is pregnant, we are expecting." He suddenly dropped the bomb on those who were still unaware.

"Pregnant?!" His mom gasped before bringing her hand to her chest in surprise.

"She tested positive two days ago but we have our first appointment next week." He explained and Jackie suddenly let out a squeal and Carson breathed a sigh of relief.

"Oh, Ash.." His mom breathed, making me nervous...was she upset?

"I'm sorry, I didn't want to ruin your moment. That text was meant for Asher." I tried to explain, making my uncle stand.

"Asher..I would like a word." He suddenly turned on his heel and began walking towards the back door.

"Baby, you don't have to go alone.." I started, causing Asher to shake his head no.

"It's okay, I will be right back okay?" He said, placing a gentle kiss on my lips before standing up.

Oh god, please don't let my uncle punch my husband..it wouldn't get to that point right?

I slapped my hands over my face..let's just hope it doesn't get to that point..
