His Soul & His Shame -
Daniel
Izzy and I are in the cab going to the place she said opened this week and I am looking forward to it. Maybe I can indulge myself in alcohol and let myself lose it so I can forget about going back home and running into Ezra. Ugh, I should stop thinking and just enjoy the evening. The cab parked in front of the club and I stepped down from the car and pulled down the dress which was raised. This is the problem with short dresses, I can't even sit or walk properly in them.
"Come, let's go! I know the bouncer so it's easy for us to get in." Izzy said, dragging me towards the entrance where there is a big line of people waiting to be let in.
"How do you know the Bouncer, Izzy? You told me that it opened last week!" how would she know the bouncer when this is the first time she is coming here?
"I have my ways, Fay!" she winked at me before guiding me towards the entrance. I know what her ways are, Izzy will flirt her way into anything and I am not judging her or anything but she flirts way too much for her good.
The second we entered the club I was hit by the scents of sweat, perfumes, alcohol, and sex all mixing making my nose scrunch in disgust. My nose needs time to get used to the scents until then I have to just breathe through my nose even if it feels like I am going to die.
"Let's go to the bar first," Izzy shouted through the loud music. I nodded my head and followed her to the bar. I am not a fan of alcohol but tonight I want to let loose in it.
We sit on the bar stools and a good-looking and cute bartender is serving the people and impressing them with his skills. My eyes are glued to his hands, mesmerized by the way he is shaking the drinks in the shaker and mixing everything, and the way the veins in his hands bulging and his arms flexing made me gulp.
I don't want to indulge myself in the attraction and the activities it follows. I am not the type of person who does one-night stands and I want to stay that way.
"What do you want to drink?" Izzy asked from beside me, she is also eyeing the bartender, and the said bartender is also making his eyes at her. Good, one of us is getting lucky tonight.
"Umm, I don't know! Surprise me." I grin at her, making her already large grin bigger. She is so bubbly that sometimes my eyes hurt seeing her like this.
"Okay, Get ready to be surprised." she slid down from her stool and went towards the bartender with a sway of her hips and a charming smile on her face. I don't doubt her flirting skills at all.
I roamed my eyes around me but I couldn't see the people clearly due to the dim lights. Some people were grinding on the dance floor and some were sipping their drinks. Everyone is in their own world.
Someone cleared their throat beside me pulling me out of my head. I turned around slightly to see who is the one invading my personal space. I can smell his cologne which is hurting my nostrils.
"Umm, Can I help you?" I questioned looking into the stranger's pale blue eyes. He is not bad to look at but not even a fraction of interest or attraction swirled in me. He ruined me for everyone whose name I can't take or think. "Actually, Yes!" My eyebrows touched my hairline at his confidence. I like men who show their confidence so freely rather than coming out as arrogant.
I gave him a small smile and turned my body towards him to give him my attention. He seems harmless and cute, I can at least be civil to him.

"I Am dying to buy a drink for a beautiful lady throughout the evening but I never saw one until you so can I buy you a drink?" He has a big grin on his face making me comfortable with his personality and I didn't expect these words to come out of his mouth. Buying a drink for you is the common pickup line but still, he complimented me and I like it.
An amused laugh escaped, surprising me that I am capable of letting myself enjoy someone's compliment as I always steer clear of guys. Maybe I need this change too.
"Thanks but my friend already went to get us drinks." I pointed towards the other end of the bar where Izzy is so busy flirting with the bartender. His grin pulled down making me feel bad for it but the next words rolled out of my mouth on their accord surprising me again for the second time this night.
"You can buy me the next drink? I guess." I smiled up at him and his grin came back and his blue eyes shone brighter. He is kind of cute with his grin.
"Count on me." He threw a wink at me, making me blush. I need to stop taking things seriously. It's just a healthy conversation and it's normal, I reminded myself.
"I will, so what's your name!" I asked, wanting to divert him from noticing my red cheeks and it worked as the way he perked up.
"Daniel, and you?" I laughed at his eagerness in knowing my name.
"Fay." He repeated my name too, making us both laugh at it. Maybe we can become friends? He is cool and I am comfortable with him.

" :
You have a unique and rare name and I like it." He complimented my name with a warm smile. After a long time, I am like someone's company other than Joanna and Izzy's. I know he is a stranger and I need to let my guard up but he is not giving me the creeps and is quite funny and cute.
"What are you lovebirds talking about?" Izzy's loud voice reached my ears despite the loud music thumping around us. She has a big curious grin on her face and two glasses of our drinks in her hands walking towards us. I groaned at her narrowing my eyes in warning to stop her antics but it made her smirk grow more. She is going to make me and Daniel uncomfortable with her matchmaking.
"Izzy! He is Daniel and Daniel She is Izzy, My friend." I made the introductions and she took the empty seat beside Daniel handing me my drink which I took great full and took a sip liking the sweet taste and burning. "So, How did you guys meet?" Her attention is on Daniel who has his signature grin playing on his face.
"My hawk-like eyes found a beautiful woman sitting alone at the bar so I wanted to give her a little bit of my precious company." He wiggled his eyebrows at Izzy making her cackle at him. They are both so extra.
"Izzy You got your twin," I said, pointing toward Daniel who circled his arm on Izzy's shoulder emphasizing my words.
"
I guess so, but I am really lucky to replace her then." He winked at her and they both chuckled at my scowl.
"Whatever, Now I need to forget about everything and enjoy the night." I took a huge gulp of my drink and finished it in one go. My head already started buzzing as I'm a light drinker but today I just need the alcohol and two friends to dance away the night.
"You don't need to worry, Fay! I am a very good company to let loose." Daniel handed me the drink he brought for Izzy and I. I thanked him before taking another mouthful of the sweet liquid which was making me float in the air and all my worries and fears of going back and meeting him evaporated.
