Kalbreal slammed his hands on the table. The people in the room looked at them, and the waiter moved toward Liam, "Is everything ok sir?" Liam smiled, causing the lady's knees to buckle by his beauty and Kalbreal's heating presence not helping, "My friend here is not one for humor."

Kalbreal dropped his head near to Liam's, "Watch your place, William, might I remind you of who you speak with."

Liam stood up, completely immune to Kalbreal's threats. He walked outside after he dropped money on the table for the coffee he hadn't even touched. Kalbreal followed him after noticing Alonso was gone. The sun was setting. Cars drove by. People walking around. But nothing could stop Liam from what he was about to do. They walked together down an ally, neither of them in a hurry. Once they were safe from prying eyes Liam grabbed Kalbreal's arm in a firm lock, making sure not to touch the Angel's skin, "Firstly, you don't order me around, secondly my patience has run out. You don't question me boy, and you don't disrespect me. For that, you would answer my questions regarding Clare and then you would be my eyes and ears."

Kalbreal laughed, "I am not your boy, maybe our time together has weakened your mind Blackwyll. I only serve myself, my involvement with Clare is as beyond as I want it to be."

Liam put his hands behind his back, and took a step back, his cool persona back in place, "Do you want to know what's going on? Or better yet, the identity of the one you truly crave? Yes, I know why you truly here. Known it for years actually."

Kalbreal's face creased, and paled, "How do you..."

"I seek answers, news travels fast, blah blah blah."

"That information isn't worth the risk. You need to be careful, if you are dabbling in dangerous grounds."

Liam's temper decreased mildly, "If I weren't so smothered in emotionless conflict I would consider a possibility of you caring."

"You know I consider you family."

"Family?" he stared at Kalbreal, dumbfounded, surely he wasn't serious, "Family, ha, no need to lie, we both know that's not true. You might've fooled Kole but not me and neither Jullie." Liam's lip tipped up, "You can never be family to those you consider dirt Kalbreal and I would never accept one who I consider weak."

Kalbreal stepped back from Liam as if he had been hit in the chest. Liam walked closer to him, his arctic eyes a complete contrast to Kalbreal's lava ones, "I know your orders but if you hurt Clare.."

"I won't. I'll meet you at home." As if he was suddenly out of pretence, Kalbreal looked sad. The Angel amazed Liam at how pitiful he became when his feelings got hurt. Bloody hell, Liam had forgotten how young Kalbreal actually was. But the boy needed to learn, he knew Kole kept him close feeling obligated to look after him, well actually Kole pushed that burden on Liam.

He felt the pinch, but didn't show it, at Kalbreal words,- "Sometimes it's hard to remember you're a Caster who's much older than me, I really thought you considered me family."

Liam stopped short, hearing it like a siren ringing in his ear, the pain in his chest, "DEMONS."

Kalbreal's face graved, "Where?"

Liam closed his eyes, tracking them, "They there, GO NOW." At the command Kalbreal dissipated in a speck of bright light, like a flash.

Wanting to go help but knowing he shouldn't intervene, not as long as he was him, and not with Kalbreal there, had him clenching his jaw. So far he had managed to keep the Angel at a distance but still close enough not to get suspicious, but Angel-boy would figure it out. And when that day came Kalbreal would meet the end of his blade. Liam wouldn't risk his siblings safety for the life of an Angel that didn't mean much to him. Ignoring the voice in his head which questioned that thought, he turned and saw a woman standing on the street.

Tall and tanned in complexion, her French accent no doubt a turn-on for most but Liam just found it a bore and thorn in his shoulder when it came to this one, "I normally mutilate my stalkers." His annoyance unmasked in his comment.

But she didn't take the hint, "I'm looking for Franchesca, she's wanted by the Garde."

He looked down at the navy Italian cottoned shirt paired with black Armani pants and shoes his sister had just gotten him. He wasn't dressed for this. Black hair as straight and unkempt as the day he was born, tickled his jaw as he walked up to her,

"What's your name again?"

She flared her nostrils, "Nadia."

"I would be of help but I'm just a lost beastly creature who knows nothing of the name."

"Boo hoo, William Blackwyll, If your reputation weren't so renowned for treating women like sex slaves then maybe I might have considered you a real charmer."

Faster than the eye could catch, he closed the distance, hand gripped on her waist.

Racing heart and arousal, sickening, her eyes dazed in desire, her lips parted with lust, he let her go. It took her a few steps to get her footing. Hands behind his back, he shook his head, "You want me like all the women out there."

She smiled, and shrugged, "Maybe, but after, I might just kill you."

She put her hand on his chest but he stepped back, "Touch me again and be you a female or not, I'll tear the skin off your hands."

Death glare, eyes narrowed at him, he smiled as if she had blown him a kiss, "Desperation is not a good quality on a woman, nor is revenge."

Walking away, back turned he spun around so quickly, catching the tip of the knife she had thrown at him. Flinging it back, seconds later the knife went right through the same hand that had dared injure him. Hissing, her face scrunched up in pain as she tried to take the knife out, but the thing twisted deeper and deeper. Realization hit her and she dropped her hand and paled. Ah, clever girl, but not bright enough, because she had made an enemy, "tut, tut-tut, no wonder you are just a Garde Nadia, I know a girl who would've done some serious damage with that knife, now be gone before I kill you out of boredom." Smiling to himself as she ran away, he continued toward the main road to his parked Jaguar. His phone rang, flipping it open as he slipped in, "Any good news."

The voice on the other end fainted, after the words had slipped through his speaker. He dropped his phone and all that around him had changed.☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
