"Li Liang, we happened to meet an old classmate!"

Hou Xiaoxia waved affectionately at Li Liang. Clearly, this was her boyfriend.

Wang Wen suddenly said, "Hou Xiaoxia, didn't you say you had another ticket? Why don't we bring Chen Hao along? Since we haven't met in so many years, we can sit together and talk about the old days!"

"Hmm..." Hou Xiaoxia rolled her eyes once. "Sure, let's bring him with us! We can show Chen Hao what a grand event looks like! Here's your ticket, Chen Hao. Let's go together!" Hou Xiaoxia said. "Yeah, let's go! You don't have anything else to do anyway, right?" Wang Wen asked, tugging at Chen Hao's elbow.

"Alright then!" Chen Hao nodded in agreement.

If it was just an invitation from Hou Xiaoxia, Chen Hao would not have even thought of joining.

But this was Wang Wen's invitation, and they were pretty close. Plus, Chen Hao was waiting for new information from his underlings and that would take awhile, so he decided to go over just to check things out.

The few of them rode the elevator together and reached the third floor of the hotel.

There was a big hall on the third floor which was specially used for holding parties.

This hotel was an extremely prestigious one in Hong County.

Everyone presented their tickets before walking in.

There were quite a number of people who were already there.

This seemed like a gathering held before the start of a big project.

Based on what Hou Xiaoxia told Chen Hao, if one had no money or power, then they would not get the chance to show even a strand of their hair.

As for Hou Xiaoxia's boyfriend, Li Liang, he was obviously rather well-versed with events like this.

"You! Go sit over there! Do you think you have the right to sit at this table?" Hou Xiaoxia's attitude toward Chen Hao was completely different as to how she treated him after entering the party. You were the one who gave me the ticket to enter.

When Chen Hao turned to look at the direction Hou Xiaoxia's finger was pointing in, he saw a table in the corner. It looked to have been prepared for the secretaries and drivers of those who had come to have fun tonight.

Obviously, Hou Xiaoxia thought Chen Hao didn't have the right to sit at the same table with her.

"Xiaoxia, what's wrong with you? You treated Chen Hao pretty well before, so why are you treating him in public like this all of a sudden? Don't you know how much you're embarrassing him publicly?" Wang Wen said anxiously.

"That's right! I wanted him to be embarrassed in public. He should know how bad it feels!" Hou Xiaoxia suddenly swept a cold gaze toward Chen Hao.

"Why? Chen Hao didn't do anything to you! Unless... Don't tell me, you're still caught up in that small matter from high school?!" Wang Wen was extremely perplexed. She had been the one to call Chen Hao along after all. Now that two of her good friends were clearly not on good terms with one another, of course she was getting anxious.

"Small matter? Wang Wen, do you really think what happened in high school was just a small matter?" When Hou Xiaoxia thought back to what happened, she still felt enraged.

Did you really think I didn't know that you used to like Chen Hao? Except you two had never gotten anywhere because you thought he was too poor! Isn't that right?"
