“Any objection?” Lance turned to Gideon and asked.

Gideon, who had lost his courage, dared not voice any objections and gave in quickly. “Your wish is mycommand!”

“Problem solved!” Lance turned toward Richard and smiled.

“Understood!”

“Mr. Cadman!” Jonathan chimed in.

Lance smiled faintly. “I suppose I made it in time.”

“Thank you for rescuing me, Mr. Carman.”

“Don't mention it,” Lance replied with a smile.

At that moment, Gabriel was, perhaps, the one with the most complicated feelings.

Depressed and discouraged, Gabriel cursed inwardly at Jonathan's absurd good luck.

He never thought Jonathan could walk away unscathed from such a dire situation, let alone be on goodterms with someone like Emperor of Chanaea.

All my attempts to kill Jonathan had failed badly. I should stop plotting against him now, or I might getmyself killed sooner or later. Gabriel came to a realization that he had to stop.

As he walked out, Jonathan, Lailah, Yuna, and Richard followed behind him.

I can't be taking advantage of you, either way. I'll give yousomething in return.”

That said, he retrieved something from his sleeves and delivered it to Jonathan.
