Chapter 201 I Can't Wait

Harper was silent.

She seemed unsure of how to respond.

After a few seconds, Benjamin demanded coldly, "Does the fact that you've discussed divorcing me with my grandparents and parents behind my back not seem like a big deal to you?" Harper's brow furrowed slightly. "I don't understand what you mean."

"Is it that you don't understand, or you don't want to understand?" Benjamin smiled chillily. His deep eyes narrowed, and he looked at Harper coldly. "Harper, are you so eager to divorce me?" Harper didn't speak, just pressed her lips in silence.

Benjamin pressed again, "Harper, answer me. Are you in such a hurry to divorce me?"

Harper didn't know why Benjamin was suddenly questioning her like this.

She guessed it was Paul, Lily, or Scott who said something to Benjamin.

Harper pondered for a moment, ultimately deciding it didn't seem all that important. She simply responded in a low voice, "Yes, I can't wait."

Benjamin chuckled, then said lightly, "Well done, Harper. Since you've gone to such lengths to end this marriage, as you wish."

Harper stared blankly, stunned.

The sound of the line being disconnected followed shortly after.

Though he had agreed to it, Harper felt no sense of joy.

She felt a more profound sensation as if ants were gnawing at her heart, a dull ache impossible to ignore.

Harper didn't know what was wrong with her.

This version of herself left her feeling incredibly frustrated. She silently questioned, "Isn't this what you wanted? Why react like this once you've got it?"

Harper remained silent at the

doorway for a long while, waiting et

until she had composed herself

before standing up and entering the

btment.

Annie was playing a game and quickly waved as she saw Harper return. "Babe, why are you back so late today?"

Harper just smiled faintly and replied, "You wouldn't understand the world of working overtime."

"I sense a bit of resentment in your tone." Annie immediately turned off her phone and tossed it onto the sofa She got up and reached out to her and asked, "How about a hug?"

Harper gave Annie a fleeting glance. "Have you eaten?"

Annie, displeased by her indifference, dropped her arms and returned to her seat before responding, "Yes."

Her gaze remained fixed on Harper, clutching a pillow to her chest, she probed softly, "Are you keeping something from me?"

Harper didn't confess to Annie, and her tone was mild yet distant. "Have you been alone so long that you're starting to imagine things?"

"I haven't been idle. I've been working hard. Business at the studio hasn't been great. What should I do?"

"Eat the dust bunnies!" Harper retorted indifferently.

Annie became more convinced that

Harper was hiding something, but since she was unwilling to share, Annie didn't press further and hinted. "Harper, don't push yourself to hard I'll be here to support you no matter what."

Harper didn't reply, just offering a slight, smiling curve of her lips.

But deep down, Harper was lost in confusion due to Benjamin's words.

This confusion lasted until the following day when Harper received a call from Curtis.

On the phone, Curtis hesitated to say, "Mrs. Martin... Mr. Martin asked me to come to you. Are you available? I....."

"Mr. Yost, just say what you need to say!"

"Mr. Martin asked me to bring you the divorce papers for your signature," Curtis stated plainly without further hesitation. Harper was momentarily stunned.

Her eyelashes trembled as she asked softly, "Has he signed?"
