I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) -
Chapter 227
Chapter 227 Change the Address
Curtis hung up the phone and looked at Harper. "Mrs. Martin, please come in."
Harper nodded and then walked towards the office with the design draft. She knocked on the door before entering.
In the office, Benjamin was sitting on the chair in front of the desk with a beautiful girl standing beside him. The sexy short skirt accentuated her figure as she looked at Benjamin with admiration. After seeing Harper come in. She instinctively said, "Mr. Martin, if your wife is here, should I leave first?"
Although she said so, her expression revealed her grievance and reluctance.
Benjamin looked at Harper expressionlessly, then smiled and said to the girl, "It's okay, my wife won't mind. Harper, do you think so?"
Harper looked into Benjamin's deep eyes and said coldly, "It's up to you!"
"Did you hear it? My wife is very understanding and generous, so you don't need to leave. Go sit on the sofa and wait for me to finish work. Let's have lunch together."
"Okay." The girl smiled, glanced at Harper again, and then walked over to the sofa and sat down.
Benjamin turned to look at Harper, but his smile disappeared, and he became indifferent. "Speak up!"
His completely different attitude left Harper at a loss, and she became stiff in her movements. She tried to act as if nothing was wrong and handed the design to Benjamin.
She said, "Charlie said I have to report to you on all design-related progress. The first half was the drawings before the project was halted. The following is the new draft. Most of the buildings are still under construction..."
She was speaking earnestly but was suddenly interrupted by Benjamin.
"Is that all you have to say?"
Harper frowned. "I don't quite understand what you mean. Are you saying that these are not enough?"
Benjamin snorted coldly, his attitude becoming even more irritated. "Of course, it's enough. How could it not be enough? Did you finish speaking? You can leave now. I will take some time to review these drafts. If there is anything that needs to be modified, I will have Curtis notify you."
"Benjamin......"
"Harper, are you here to talk to me about work?"
"Yes."
She didn't understand the meaning of his question, but she still answered truthfully.
е
Next, she heard Benjamin say, "Since you're here to discuss work with me, change how you address me.
Otherwise, people might think you're
here as my wife." Contos to
Harper was stunned.
She really didn't understand his ever-changing mood.
She didn't do anything, yet she still made him angry.
Harper frowned at him and replied, "Okay, I understand."
"Do you have anything else to say?"
"No more."
"Then you can go out."
He looked very impatient, his eyes drooping and no longer looking at her.
Harper stood still for a moment before walking towards the door.
Suddenly, Benjamin's voice came from behind her. "Tell Curtis to reserve a private room at the Silver. I want to treat a guest to lunch."
Harper stopped in her tracks. After a while, she realized he was speaking to her.
She turned around and saw the
woman on the sofa running towards Benjamin cheerfully. "Mr. Martio, shalbit just be the two of us for lunch?"
"Sure! Are you happy?"
He joked with a smile, speaking in an affectionate tone.
Harper looked at him
expressionlessly. He was so gentle but was with another woman. She suddenly felt annoyed and retorted, "Benjamin, I am not an employee of the Martin Group. So sorry, I don't want to convey this message to you. You'd better let Curtis come in and talk to him personally."
She turned and left after she finished speaking.
Until her figure disappeared at the doorway, the woman asked in a low voice, "Mr. Martin, is Mrs. Martin angry?"
