When Zhou Rui took the stage, Chai Meicen finally realized Zhou Rui's strength and popularity.

He signed up for two short track events, the 100 meters and 200 meters. The 200 meters was with Li Xiaonan, but not in the same batch.

As soon as Zhou Rui started his warm-up exercises, people started screaming. Zhou Rui was one of those with great popularity, even the boys would howl a couple times: "Brother Rui, go for it!"

Zhou Rui waved at them, then started tying his shoelaces.

The male students from Class 3 had commanding leads in all the sports events. They were probably resentful from ranking low before due to fewer female students.

When it was time for Chai Meicen's event, she finally got up.

She turned to look, and saw Yang Ming from Class 3 holding a loudspeaker. He yelled "Sis Mei!" into it.

Then the whole class yelled "Awesome!"

Yang Ming yelled again "Sis Mei!"

The whole class followed with "You will win!"

Chai Meicen smiled without minding it, and continued preparing. From the corner of her eye she noticed two girls watching her.

She moved back a little to see their number bibs were from the Rocket Class. Looking again at the two girls, she saw they had resumed normal.

But Chai Meicen was old enough to see through these young girls' thoughts.

The taller the tree, the more wind it attracted. Too much showiness often wasn't good.

After getting ready she kept an extra eye out, not daring to slack off after the gunshot.

The 400m wasn't like the 800m, Chai Meicen had to sprint at full speed from the start to have a chance.

At the curve, the girl in the inner lane suddenly fell down, right in Chai Meicen's lane.

Chai Meicen approached quickly, and didn't hesitate when she reached the girl. She simply jumped over her, without slowing down at all, and took first place again.

She had just stopped when she saw Zhou Rui striding over, pointing at the fallen girl and yelling, "Were you trying to trip her just now, huh?"

The girl shuddered in fear under Zhou Rui's yelling, and immediately shook her head to deny it.

The girls next to her quickly explained, "Zhou Rui, why are you yelling? No one wants to fall."

"Luckily she didn't hinder your classmate's competition."

"If she had tripped you and made you fall because of her, I'd have pulled all her hair out." Zhou Rui said angrily after that.

Chai Meicen went to Zhou Rui's side and poked him.

Zhou Rui turned his head to see Chai Meicen making a circle with her hand above her head. Zhou Rui asked, "What's wrong?"

"With great power comes great responsibility. I have a long way to go."

Zhou Rui looked at Chai Meicen for a while, his expression finally softening a little.

"Speak nicely, don't yell at girls. Yelling makes you unjustified even if you're right." Chai Meicen advised when she saw Zhou Rui wasn't as angry.

"I got angry seeing someone scheme against you."

"Hahaha, I was angry but you made me laugh." Zhuo Wenqian slapped her thigh.

"Just let it go like this?" The other girl asked, seeming upset for Chai Meicen too.

"How could that be possible?" Chai Meicen stroked her chin, then smiled sinisterly.

Chai Meicen and Zhuo Wenqian stood at the corner of the stairwell, keeping watch outside. When they saw Zhao Bingqing going upstairs, they immediately went out.

Chai Meicen had someone notify Zhao Bingqing, telling her a teacher asked her to help grade papers.

While Zhao Bingqing was going upstairs, Zhuo Wenqian and Chai Meicen quickly ran over.

"Chai Meicen! What are you doing?" Zhao Bingqing yelled loudly.

"Payback." Chai Meicen answered righteously, "Just like what you wanted to do to me, to let you experience what would have happened to me if you succeeded."

"What if I had fallen down these stairs?" Zhao Bingqing said in fright as she held the railing.

Her knees should be scraped, with specks of blood visible on her pants legs. The pain made her face twist.

"I came over when you had only climbed a few steps, and Wenqian was waiting below too."

"You're dead!"

Chai Meicen pinched Zhao Bingqing's face, her eyes a bit icy, "I have a bad temper. If I wasn't here to set an example for Zhou Rui, I could split your face open right now."

It was sports day so there weren't many students in the teaching building.
