I'm Your Sister, Brother Chow -
Chapter 26: The Night Bar
Chow felt himself getting angry at the thought of the boy who spoke up for Vivian in school that morning.
If not for the fact that he and Raylan had been friends since their diaper days, he would not have hesitated to bash him up.
Raylan knew just how far he could push his buttons without consequences. There was no reason for him to be afraid of Chow's temper. The dimples on Raylan's cheeks deepened.
"It's so out of character for you to care so much about a little girl," Raylan said with a low chuckle.
Chow was about to retort when the door opened with a loud squeak.
Everyone in the room stopped whatever they were doing and looked at the door.
It was Peter, the driver, and Vivian, who was still clad in her school uniform. Vivian peered into the room with a flustered look on her face.
She immediately noticed Chow but stayed rooted in place.
To her knowledge, she had no business whatsoever in a place like this.
Even though she'd spent countless nights tumbling under the sheets with Chow, she still stayed as far away from this place as she could.
She stood at the door at a loss, staring into Chow's cold eyes as she tightly hugged her backpack in front of her chest.
Her defensive posture seemed to indicate that she was ready to make her escape anytime.
However, in the face of such an ice-cold Chow, would she really have a chance to escape?
One of the men let out a wolf whistle when he saw Vivian at the door. He already had his shirt half unbuttoned by one of his women. "Not bad! I never knew that there was a student service here. Whose plaything is this? I really like her face. Can I have her? Hey missy, do you want to serve me instead? I'll pay you double your asking price!"
As soon as he made his offer, the other men started chiming in as well. "Double? I'll pay you five times your asking price if you'll serve me!"
"I'll buy you whatever you want. Just serve me instead!"
Their hollers were getting more and more aggressive. One or two of the men actually got up from their places and headed towards the door with drunken, unsteady footsteps.
Vivian looked at them in horror and took a few steps back. The driver next to her bowed towards Chow, who was still seated on the sofa. "Young Master, I've brought Miss Vivian to you as instructed."
It was only after the greeting that the other men knew who Vivian belonged to.
The man who spoke first smirked at Chow. "I see, that's why Mr. Howard was so reserved today. You didn't want any of the women here because you brought your own b*tch."
Chow's face darkened. He had thought that he would be delighted to have Vivian brought here like this, but seeing Vivian's face turning pale because of the men's frivolous words, he felt the anger rising in him again.
He didn't respond to the man's question. Instead, Chow said to her in a demanding voice. "Come in!"
The private room was abuzz with sounds and voices, but Vivian immediately detected the authority in his voice, which sent another chill down her spine.
Vivian's whole body trembled. She timidly looked up and met his eyes.
Chow frowned. "I said, come in."
"The little missy seems to be rather scared of you," one of the men said teasingly to Chow. "Why don't you play with my girls and let me take over your little plaything instead?
Chow's gaze seemed to shoot daggers at the man. His smile froze and he rubbed his nose awkwardly, shutting up.
Even though the men had stopped teasing her, Vivian still couldn't help her eyes turning red because of the degrading way they'd addressed her just now.
She seemed to understand why Chow wanted her here.
"Don't make me say it a third time." Chow threatened.
Vivian quickly blinked away the tears in her eyes and tightly held onto her backpack. Slowly, carefully, she made her way towards him.
One step turned to two, then three.
Under everyone's gaze, it felt as if she was walking along on a knife blade with each step she took, the pain shooting straight to her heart.
In the eyes of these people, she was just a shameless woman, not unlike all the other women in this room.
It took Vivian a lot of effort to hold back her tears and stop herself from breaking down.
But that didn't mean that her eyes weren't covered in a misty, glistening layer of tears.
Unbeknownst to Vivian, it was her tearful look that made all the other men in the room want to rush up to her and comfort her. How they all wished that she would end up picking one of them instead of Chow.☐☐☐☐☐
