Taking the keys, Skylar opened the door and went to wash her hands inthe kitchen without waiting for Tobias, who was parking the car.

When Tobias got home, Skylar had changed into her casual outfit andshe was placing a plate of fruits onto the coffee table.

Cherries, strawberries and diced mangoes.

Turning on the television, she didn’t even bother to ask if the manwanted to eat the fruit, while the man didn't talk to her and wentupstairs for a shower.

When he went downstairs to the living room, Skylar was still watchingthe television while eating the strawberries. She burst into laughter andcould barely catch her breath.

Detecting Tobias’ presence, her smile froze immediately.

The man sat beside her and tried to take her into his arms, but shestruggled to escape his grasp with a look of disgust. “I feel warm. Sodon't get too close to me.”

Tobias got up and switched off the heater while Skylar secretly cursedat him in her heart.

Tobias wanted to spend more time with Skylar, so he didn't go to thestudy. Taking out a stack of documents from his briefcase, he placedthem on the table. Every single person in the files was of a cleanbackground.

Being Tobias’ assistant, one would enjoy the luxury of being flattered bymany people, so it was the most desired position by every employee inthe company.

Skylar reached out to take a cherry from the plate and when she sawEva's photo among the stack of documents, she almost swallowed thecherry whole out of shock.

She took the initiative to start a conversation with Tobias. “What's allthis for? There are at least ten thousand employees in your company.The HR should be the one in charge of interviews.”

Taking her into his arms, he nibbled on her ear and whispered, “The HRhad narrowed down the list to these people. I wanted this list of peoplewith clean backgrounds to become my assistant.”

Skylar pursed her lips as she admitted the fact that Eva wasoutstanding. She could stand out from so many candidates and evenclimbed her way to the top in an international company.

Tobias sighed with regret and said, “I wish you could be my assistant. Ifonly you can stay with me all day, and we can do some enjoyablethings together when we are tired.”

Skylar interrupted his daydreams by covering his mouth, stopping himfrom continuing.
