When the two came over, Skylar plastered on a fake smile and greetedthem.

By now, her fans and Winnie's were in an intense fight online. Skylar'sfans were losing, for there were not as many of them.

Winnie smiled at Skylar and said, “I haven't gotten the chance tocongratulate you for starring in Empyrean Sword. Your name is all overthe net now. Skylar, you're going to be popular soon. I'm sure countlesspeople are envious.”

Her smile was as fake as Skylar's. A while ago, everyone in the danceroom had been complaining about how a lowly Skylar was getting somany offers.

Skylar's smile widened. “It's too early to say that. It seems like I'm fatedto have more haters than fans.”

At that, Sheldon said, “Don’t be so humble. Look at the way mybrother's investing in you. It'll be a waste of his money if you're still notpopular. Skylar, did you know that you're still not profiting? If not formy brother, I'm sure that you'll be forgotten by the masses by now. Infact, Valerie even said you can't even carry a show by yourself and thatit's time for you to stop embarrassing him.”

Skylar lowered her eyes, misery flitting past her mind. Truthful wordsalways hurt.

However, she soon recollected herself. “You can think of me assomeone with potential. Maybe there'll be a day where I'll be rich andfamous, and that'll stun everyone. All right, I need to get going. I've gotto attend the table-read upstairs since I'm about to join the filming.”Displeased, Winnie grumbled to Sheldon, “Your brother managed toget such a major role for Tobias, but I'm still a side character until now.No one's offering any roles to me. Darling, my career isn't progressing.What do we do about the interior of the villa? I don't even have themoney to install an elevator in the house!”

Sheldon had long transferred the mountain villa that Tobias had givento him to Winnie. He thought that was enough to express his sincerityin the relationship.

Yet, Winnie was now telling him that she did not have enough moneyfor the renovation. Irked, he uttered, “Are you asking me to pay for therenovations? My brother is strict on my money, so I can't help youmuch. I've given you all I can. You should learn to be grateful for whatyou have and stop asking for more.”

He isn't a mama's boy; he’s his brother's boy. Annoyed on behalf ofSheldon, she snapped, “Are you stupid? You own half of Ford Group.Your brother just wants to take the family assets all for himself. Tobias’such a cunning man. It's embarrassing that you're not doing anythingabout it. If I were you, I'd have wanted to split the assets and get what Ideserve. You're not young anymore. It's time for you to plan for yourfuture.”

At a point in time, Skylar's earphones had dislodged from her ear.While she was returning to look for her earphones, she overheardWinnie trying to convince Sheldon to go against his brother. You reallycan't talk someone's back, huh?

When Sheldon noticed Skylar, he panicked and shot a glare at Winniebefore hastily saying, “What are you talking about?”

With his eyes looking at everywhere but Skylar, he mumbled, “Did you...What did you hear what we said just now?”

In response, Skylar drawled, “Nothing much. Something along the linesof your girlfriend wanting to split the assets. Yes, that's all I heard.”Flying into a panic, Sheldon hurriedly tried to appease Skylar beforetelling her not to say strange things. The way he was panicking was as ifSkylar was about to report to Tobias about what she overheardinstantly.

At that thought, Skylar felt a tinge of sadness for Tobias. He dideverything for his brother, yet his brother's girlfriend was still trying topit Sheldon against him.

Thus, she said, “If you really heed your girlfriend's words, Tobias will besad. Think about it."

That was all she said to Sheldon; she did not promise him that shewould not say anything to Tobias.
